Halo, how to move center point in ilustrator, if I wanna move it into the left side, or right side, so the shape not rotate on the center point., thanks

How can I keep going with a shape and not lose my 'mother' anchorpoint? I can't keep going, because it starts making a new shape, I want the shape to be tied to the original anchorpoints, but it creates a brand new one. + pluss does not do this for me.
Any thoughts?
