which one is better
Affinity is the best overall alternative for Adobe in general, but Inkscape probably for Illustrator is the free version I’ve seen used most

Gravit was sold to Corel?
I bought Affinity before I watched this video and I still do not regret it. It has a nice work flow and powerful tools. That said, I also still use my CS6 Illustrator and both professional. The mixture helps a lot to not miss much about the new CC versions of Illustrator.

Has anybody used Inkscape and Affinity before? I have always been using Illustrator but as a student my income is unable to pay off my software bills now so I have thought of going for some free options now. I feel a little anxious and just wanted to know if anybody switched from illustrator to anyother software and how was the experience?

Haha nice thinking but no, because then you can just open a free trial open a bunch of projects and re-edit them as much as you want and it would be free of charge

Affinity is not one time purchase. It is major release purchase. Like buy v2. and it lasts to v3. Affinity sold out to Canva, so who knows what's next.

have tried out affinity designer, the truth is corel draw has more editing features than affinity designer, I tested out all the futures and I had to uninstall it, I rely on corel draw for my logo designs for now...
But Corel is more expensive
