Wow that sounds so familiar. I am 52 years old and I am also unemployed. I went from Aircraft mechanic in the army to an Airmen in the Navy. I then was a logistician analyst as a military contractor and went from that to PC repair tech to network engineering all in military contracting. I worked at a gas station for about 4 years that sucked really bad. I was then a clerk for a good 2 months and been laid off ever since. My career has been very broad and a bit confusing. I never knew I had so many skill sets that just kind of came to me. I never been to college. However its kind of a curse cause when you are the smart person in the room, people do not like that. I even tried to keep like a low profile, but if you don't speak to people and like do your job and go home people don't like that either and then you are the odd ball. So with that said I pretty much quit the 9 to 5. I myself do not know what's next. I just know that the 9 to 5 is not for me anymore. Congrats on your new family member. Enjoy the time you have with your family. Try not to worry about finances. Sometimes I have noticed through out my journey that things just seem to work out. Not sure why that is, I am still trying to figure that part out. Any way's stay blessed and keep a level mental . The mind is a beautiful thing.
I have no doubt that God will continue to provide for you and your family brother! What a blessing it is to be able to cherish the time you have right now to be with your family and have some time to rest. Can’t wait to see where you end up next man! Praying for you and your family
Better opportunities typically arrive quickly after a layoff if you were a thoughtful productive employee. References are invaluable and I bet you have many. Won't be long. Got you in our prayers that a killer job is right around the corner!
After 7 years working for a company, I lost my job on Nov 14, 2024. I know how challenging and difficult things must especially with two kids and a 3rd on the way. The fact is that you're talented, experienced, and valuable, and like your parents who faced difficult challenges moving from South Korea to the U.S.A with a language barrier but manage to create a happy childhood for their son and letting know that he was special, you are resilient and there is no doubt that you will be able to do the same for your family so that your kids would grow up happy and knowing that they too are special and loved. Best of luck to you and your family. 😊
i have been laid off 3 times in my working career . you will be fine . it may take a while to get back to the same level of income but there's always a way. stay positive my asian brother.
Buddy im so sorry about your lay off. Me and my wife are praying for you and your family. Im glad that your taking this with optimism and making the best of out it. Also i agree since you have the time, make more videos. Your channel is well crafted and so enjoyable to watch. The way i see it is youtube takes little to no investment to make money, so go for it when you have the time. It was also nice to hear your story! God has good plans for you, dont worry!
Thanks for the prayers Bobby. My wife and I are learning to rely on God in times like this. Maybe it's a lesson because we've been trying to plan everything on our own without leaning on God!
My advice to you would be start searching for a more physical job taking into account your talent for manual work on cars. Sometimes a drastic shift is needed, but it will pay off in the long run. AI is taking over the world, so don't rely on computers too much. I've worked as a translator for over a decade, but next month I'm starting a new job. I'll be installing... solar panels :D
Great video, very honest and down to earth. There are lots of tech works on H1B that were laid off too and has to explain their kids that they need to go back to their origin country because the job market has dried up. I hope you have savings for rainy day and wish you success in the next chapter of your career.
The Universe always takes things away in order to make room for something better. Live your life like you deserve more and better and greater opportunities will come to you.
Unsolicited advice: Your choice to mention the state of your company really struck me. I was in the same situation with my last job (also in tech)- “writing was on the wall” in terms of the obvious scale down. Just let that be a learning experience. I really let that drag me down for a while after I was laid off. Next few months will be hard- but it will make you better. Better husband and better father.
Sounds like you've been down the same road. Yes the signs were there but maybe I didn't want to believe it would happen to me. Lesson learned for sure. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!
Its hard losing a job..... but sometimes it a destiny in some way.. to find another path in your life.... you find another job.... and realise the old job wasnt that great anyway.... All the best in your future
Keep working on your youtube channel. And take risks that's how you will grow. Also look into academic based institutions, such as university of California for employment.

I was the smartest kid of my group. Then after graduating from high school, I realize my group was stupid. We were B+ students who know how to look for the answers but don't understand the answers.

Sometimes in life we need times like these in order to learn whether our family will jump ship or not. Good times and bad. Sickness and health.
Thank you. Yes it's hard but I'm staying positive!!
