Awesome! I loved driving my Tiburon! ❤I'm excited to watch your progress. I'm at a crossroad with mine. Do I try to restore it or junk it since it has sat in my garage for 8 years (while I am recovering from an accident where someone idiot decided to hit me twice on a highway while I was luckily driving my SUV). Ironically after searching for years, yesterday I found where I put the keys! I'm a little scared to even look at it... wish me luck. 🙃

3d printers have made vehicle restoration much more economical (for the small fiddltly bits) my 900 has glownin the dark seat belt release buttons, and Jordan at MCS printed me some larger rear spring seats out of tpu that are doing great so far!

Looks great, the amount of effort You put into this job is enormous. To be fair - the gloss on this foil is not that glossy as the glossy paint, just my 5cents, at least it doesn't seem to look like that. ;) great job anyway.

I may need to do this to my 2004 Saab 9-5… will doing this cause it to throw an engine light again. I’ve been getting a p1110 I have all new vac lines on that controller valve and down to the heater bypass valve which runs to another valve lower down. I’ve swapped the valve at the back and it still isn’t working. Checked voltage and it doesn’t seem to be getting power to that control valve you showed. So far no engine light still so I’m going to keep from doing this unless it comes back on. If it does I’ll dig a lil more into it and see if I can’t figure out what’s going on with it. If not I’ll do this

My grandpa had a blue hard-top convertible Volkswagen which I remember sitting in and being fascinated by its automatic roof when I was really young. I haven't had an opportunity to sit in it for a very long time, but earlier this year my grandpa wanted me to go on a small road trip with him in his old car, promising to do it in the summer. Unfortunately, he suddenly got really sick and passed away only a month ago. Seeing the clip at the end warmed my heart as it reminded me of him and his car back when I was probably as young as your children are now.

Congrats on the vert! Never again live without one. I won't. Coolest part is it has the Viggen body. Step one. Check hot idle oil pressure, if below 20psi at idle(10w30): Skip to step three..... Step two. Install a good oil pressure gauge. Step three. Drop that pan, clean and replace those 3 o-rings to bring that pressure up. Love my 01 Vig vert. You'll love this one too. Nothing else like a convertible.

You will want to waterproof the top. I use Star Brite Marine Waterproofing for my Saab NG900 convertible. It's reasonably priced when comparing it to all the high priced convertible top waterproofing snake oils out there on the market. It works fantastic. Get the brush on, not the spray. Simply wash the top, let dry and apply with a throw away brush. The product dries fast. The next time it rains you can watch the water bead up and roll off the top. You're on your own with the holes in the top. I'm sure there's an easy fix. Good luck and have fun with it.

Man, there are going to be so many low hanging fruits that will make this feel loved! Some more items im sure you are already considering, maybe a couple new: - New badge, side blinkers, rear '3' - Weather strip under the grill, possibly under the headlights (the rubber on both degrades like mad) - Car Guys plastic restorer on all plastic and rubber trim pieces on the car (makes a world of difference) - Remove the windshield cowling and wiper arms, paint both with SEM trim black (HUGE difference) - While cowling is off, replace the cabin air filter (if kids or wife will be in this) and also inspect the blower motor resistor connection, known to corrode/melt/fail over time - Steering rack brace for kicks? But looks like you have your work cut out for you to tidy this one up - definitely saved it from an undignified end!

Super excited to see this series! I have the same car, a 2002 Saab 9-3 SE Convertible and had to do extensive work to it to get it back to driving shape. After a new clutch, entire front suspension rebuild, new roof and hydraulic system, and an entirely new interior its finally road ready. If you need any help or advice I'm more than willing to give my two cents because I love seeing these things on the road!

This so helpful that it made my decision to have the garage do it while it’s in for the oil change. I had initially declined thinking it’s a job i would do myself but seeing how much of a pain it could be and the location I’m going to have to pay for it to be done. When making phone calls does this unit affect sound quality of the car's microphone or the incoming caller's sound quality? Also, do all the steering wheel buttons still work with Android Auto, such as the volume control, etc...
