Since he mentioned “rabid” Pokémon, and that the only species of animals that aren’t necessarily effected by rabies are reptiles, I think the trio makes sense to me with that.
Which could be fun and related to the first video we saw anything related to Neo:Ghestis, with Charizard supposedily be extinct, since it's also a reptile.
Normally I roll my eyes when I hear Kanto as a main location for stories thanks to how overused it is (thanks Game Freak), but this is actually creative and I'm so loving the cyberpunk aesthetic. Instead of just "weemember chaweezard and nostalgia?"
@@cjlite0210 Imagine "feral" versions of the Kanto starters out in the wild, as natural populations, like a blastoise with more organic cannons, a more unruly venusaur, and a charizard with more draconian traits.
I love the fact that these Lokemon look similar to Pokémon to the point where you could say, "yeah, that's a Pokémon" but just different enough to the point where you could also say, "There's no way thats a pokemon."
16:27 when you introduced dismandurr in the previous episode, I had some doubts about how well the joke would work... I can now assure you, it works hilariously. I love it
10:32 This character has a ponytail almost similar to Clair's, her dress also seems a little like a Hydreigon with the blue purple and black colors, the things at the back are also split like Hydreigon's wings. She also has a hair and eye color similar to Steven and shares the last name Stone so they're definitely related. There is also a megastone in her hair implying that this takes place in the Mega evolution timeline. 16:34 Since the Lake of Rage is outside of Kanto it would seem that Neo Kanto might act as a hub area and the player would travel to other regions, likely similar to how Jubilife acted as a hub area in Legends Arceus. 3:47 He mentions "rabid Pokemon" so it could be likely that the mammalian starters were infected by this Pokemon rabies, though there are many other non mammal starters as well. Still I could see starters like Mudkip going extinct for reasons other than Pokerabies, pollution is mentioned multiple times and could have caused many of the non mammal starters to go extinct. Or perhaps this Pokerabies is a mutated version of Pokerus allowing it to infect non mammalian Pokemon and the snake starters just happened to be immune somehow.
Well he did mention the starter choices are different for most guards in training so some would have mudkips and the other gen three starters since birds don't get rabies fish also don't and rodents don't so Pikachu and the pika clones would be fine they's going to be alot of Pokémon that are completely normal
I hope we get a video covering combat cause from the sound of “Action JRPG” it makes me think of something like Chrono Trigger or the classic or modern Final Fantasy games rather than the usual Turn-based combat.
I belive it will be akin to XENOBLADE/ FF combat as you stated based on the Pokémon descriptions of abilities (words like AoE and melee grappling were used)
I hope later in this series the joke ends up helping out In a slightly Comedic device Where someone says something that summons Dismandurr, who then helps knock down something in the way

Not only did Gamefreak make a graffiti pokemon, but they did it using a design philosophy thats very similar to a lot of Lockemon, where a lot of thought went into its design. Each part of its body serves a purpose, and its design leans heavily into its themes. The thing has a hoodie, goggles, and a gasmask without looking cluttered or unnatural.
I just like the idea of the starters being the limbless kind and I definitely like Gyarados’ mono water type since it didn’t learn that many Flying attacks
I would love to see some pokemon from other planets in the solar system. Imagine what type of pokemon live on Mars, or the moon? It would work pretty well for a setting like this.
I mean, we've already seen what Pokemon from space generally look like (Deoxys, Minior, Staryu, maybe even the Ultra Beasts to an extent) It'll be interesting to see more tho
@@cjlite0210 also eternatus, lunatone and solrock, elgyem and beheeyem. And I guess the creation trio can be considered too, like arceus was born literally in space

I feel like that snugooi is going to be this series version of tofrug. It’s part poison type, it’s very cute, it’s based off of an aquatic animal, and it’s very marketable.
i like the idea of neo gyarados being the only form of wild gyarados in the region. and if you want to get an actual gyarados you would need to actually train a magikarp until level 20
This reminds me of Pokemon Reborn, where there are basically no wild areas to catch things until level 70 and until then you have to look for abondoned/abused/stray Pokemon in the city
Ngl, I love that Kaskade is canon to this universe- gives me hope that after the kaskade fangame comes out they might start work on a game of this concept too
It might be harder than kascade due to not being a typical Pokémon game, but I think they can manage. On a side note, I kinda think he should shorten the name to Pokémon neo, ghetsus. Sense its not realy a legend, being set in the future and all.
This is awesome! I WOULD recommend that the signature move for the water starter, Tsunami, should set one layer of Spikes instead of Stealth Rocks. The reason is because: 1. Balancing. Stealth Rocks are already really strong and I think it would be too strong in conjunction with Surf Damage. 2. Spikes are a ground type move so it would better with the Pokemon’s type.
When I first saw the title, I immediately thought of: What if the game started in the third act of typical Pokemon game, where you have a full team of six about to fight the evil team leader. Right before you lay the final blow on the team leader, he pulls out a Celebi and sends only you far into the future where the world is now a dystopian cyberpunk world under the control of the evil team leader. You now have to reassemble your old team who are being controlled by the evil team and find a way back to the past to undo the evil future. In other words, Samurai Jack but a Pokemon game.
It sounds like a unique challenge to code because everyone's ideal team of 6 would be different. Maybe if in "the final boss gate" (which is actually the first room of the game) the player picks out their ideal team of 6 from a P.C. box that story wise the protagonist "already caught"? Then in the story trigger, each option has some different plot event as a follow up? (I. e. If you picked Dragonite, one of the missions has you finding it in a Dragons Den reminiscent section, but you don't experience that in your playthrough if you didn't choose Dragonite) If the effort was put in, your idea sounds like a very malleable game, making each person's experience almost personalized
@@jakethedragonymaster1235 to avoid having to force the player to frontload a bunch of super important descisions early on and give everyone choice paralysis at the start of the game, we could mix that with the tried and true "are you a boy or a girl?" Pokemon trope; over the course of the game, the protag says a special voiceline, and then you choose one of the pokemon that the player always had around that voiceline, with much more than 6 such events happening over time so the player get's to pick what their "old" team looked like organically over time. Some examples of what these voice lines might look like: "I vividly remember the day i choose my *starter pokemon* " (what follows is a flashback scene where the character choose their starter for the first time) "I remember the first wild pokemon i ever caught and added to my team. I've had a special bond with it ever since" (you then choose from a list of pokemon, mostly early game birds, dogs, rodents, bugs and bats, meek poison types used by evil team grunts like ekans and skunktank, possibly a garados or raichu etc. No clever flashback sequence) "In the volcanic hot springs i added a *true powerhouse* of a pokemon to my team" (as with 'first pokemon', you choose from a list rather than having a cool flashback and choosing in the flashback, this time choosing something like a tyranitar, magmar, garados, tauros, and other physically large, heavy and powerful normal, rock, ground, steel, dragon and water types) "One of my *important pokemon* nearly got lost in the shuffle at the S.S. Anne" (followed by a flashback scene where a police officer shows you a line up of pokemon and asks which one is yours, you pick one, that one was always yours, with the pokemon you can choose from being many of the ones you haven't chosen earlier) "There they were, all three [legendary bird / legendary dog trio], but i was only ever able to catch one of them" (flashback scene where all three are present you pick one of the three to catch, the rest getting away) "I actiually got one of my more *unique pokemon* from trading, back when that was still possible" (you then choose from a list of mostly trade-evolved pokemon, plus possibly one or two gift only pokemon like togekiss, mr mime or the eeveelutions, maybe even an starter from another region but off an type you already again, again chosen from a list rather than having a flashback, but depending on the pokemon chosen you cannonically traded with a different person to get it, which may have story impact) "In that old abandoned warehouse, i found a *truly strange pokemon* indeed" (you choose from a list of ditto, smeargle, mimikyu, rotom, electrode, snorlax, sudowoodo, porygon, zoruark and similar pokemon that are either known for being overworld pokemon, being particularly gimmicy or both) "There was this *specialized pokemon* i caught in order to overcome a difficult battle" (choose from a list, with each pokemon being tied to a different trainer you beat using them, an Exploud being used to defeat a trainer focused on sound, a trapper pokemon you used to overcome an annoying juggler, a mon with lightning rod against an certain electric type trainer, or simply a pokemon of a certain type exploiting an elemental weakness for a gym) "A gym leader actiually inspired me to pick up a *certain pokemon* to train with" (you choose from a list of gym leaders, then from a list of pokemon related to that gym leader) "There was this *elusive pokemon* i had that was particularly difficult to catch" (gives you a list of pokemon, Audino, Blissey, Milotic, Lapras, Vespiqueen, safari-zone associated mons like syther and kangaskan, split evolution mons with harder requirements like slowking, pokemon that are usually only caught in late game areas like mountains and deserts (such as flygon), generally a bunch of ice, ghost, psychic, dark and electric types) So on and so fourth I donno, i just think such an approach would be more organic, and play harder into the roleplaying part of the RPG genre
@@defensivekobra3873 hm...I kinda like the direction of this? But I think the questionnaire at the beginning of the game is the deterent of how it could work organically. In concept, your idea is great, but it hinders whenever you have to pick a Pokémon from a specific bracket. Maybe in "my" playthrough, I didn't want to use a legendary, so I wouldn't want to pick one when the question comes up. Maybe I just want to choose my favorites, which all fall under, let's just say, your specialized category. I think if youre given the P.C. box at the beginning of the game, it parallels the Battle SIM at the beginning of (I think...XD?) Where it's "yoooo I start with a Salamence??", plus it lets teambuilders or even newbies gravitate to their favorites Let's just say there's a new player who only really knows Pokémon from like, an anime episode he saw once and Smash Bros. The PC box approach would let him gravitate to the ones he recognizes, and maybe even throw in a random one in the shopping cart that catches his eyes as he scrolls "yoooo, why isn't THIS guy in Smash? Garchomp? This guy's rad!" Plus through this way in seeing the original poster's prompt, it let's the player have an obvious goal in mind. "OK, this super mega evil guy stole my Charizard, I want it back!" And it builds to the climax of him being reunited with it and being excited to use it again apart from the tutorial fight before the Celebi
@@jakethedragonymaster1235 (just to be clear; under my suggestion the questionares / prompts would be spread out over the course of the game, rather than being dumped right at the start. It's the "What's your name" pokemon trope insofar as it is the player character filling other characters in on information they 'remember' as a way of letting the player decide that information themselves, their own character's name, their rival's name etc. Just realized that might have been a bit confusing) I get the strength in knowing all the mons you want from the start and having something to work towards, and it's not like the PC box approach would have to be completely abandoned, it's more that it would allow some of the decision-making to be spread out over time, say the tutorial starts with something like "alright, i only need to pick [either 3 or 4] more pokemon for my fight against [insert villain]", with the remaining 2 or 3 pokemon being ones you get to retroactively decide at a later point during the adventure, halfway or 2/3rds of the way through or something. (also flashbacks reduces the need for the list of pokemon you need to choose from at the box from being too big, mostly the especially famous, popular or notable ones, while still alowing more options to be available later down the line) As for the concern of not enough build freedom, well there would likely be a lot of overlap in the brackets of pokemon each flashback offers, plus the player would likely have some controll over what flashback they want to encounter each opportunity they have for a flashback sequence and once they have experienced a few flashbacks they also get to choose which of the remembered mons were actiually on their team in the first place / which of the pokemon are relevant to the story. If you don't want any of the legendary dogs, either don't pick the option where you recall catching one of the legendary dogs or don't pick one of the legendary dogs as one of your retroactive pokemon. I suppose you could also have a few instances of the inverse of what i described, you choosing one of the pokemon you choose from the box in act 1 and the player explaining the scene in which they met, or explaining what quirks your pokemon has, possibly any relation that it had with another pokemon ("my rhydon and garados were always competing to see who was the strongest", "these two pokemon were almost insepperable"), so on and so fourth. And heck, maybe if you choose the same species of pokemon from a flashback as one you already posessed from the box, you are allowed to just make that your existing pokemon's backstory. Another system that could be used to make the initial decision-making a bit easier and enable more of it to happen later-on would be to allow the player to during the flashback pick out up to 6 pokemon as their "backup" team, with these 6 both being valid choices for the retroactive party members later on alongside flashback pokemon, and valid choices for quirks and bonds the pokemon in your party have with other pokemon. Basically, my point is that it's important to do whatever can be done to make sure that this super-duper important early game decision is as easy on the player as possible and that the choices are not completely set in stone in the future. The party they make at the start of the game should not feel like a constraining straightjacket that will haunt them for the rest of the game if they make the "wrong" choice, it should be fine for them to not be completely decided on exactly what they want until further into the story. Yes of course the pokemon you catch in the future will also be important to gameplay and story. Here's a fun idea: the game could potentially involve other pokemon from the past that aren't strictly part of your 6 pokemon team; maybe a significant pokemon (maybe a starter / mythical / legendary or whatever else) was stolen by the evil team and one of the things the tutorial confrontation was about could have been retriving it, maybe the player encounters a pokemon it recognizes as beloning to an friendly / unfriendly rival that they take with them to reunite the pokemon with it's trainer back in the past (again with dynamics your pokemon might have had with that pokemon, make it feel like that pokemon is part of your trainer's history) apologies if i sound a bit rude or defensive that is not my intent also brainstorming this concept has probably been one of the most enriching creative excercises i have had in years
@@defensivekobra3873 oh just before I hop into all this I wanna add that I actually love reading and writing out these kind of ideas: despite the large chunks of text one might assume to be an argument, I have interpreted this as like, storyboarding/ idea pitching. Likewise, if *I* came off as rude/offensive, that's on me. I think under evaluation, your idea fits better under a full length Pokémon game. Your template follows a Pokémon game structure but with the occasional plot relevant question thrown in. I think coding wise it's also much more plausible, too. If I were to compare it to a game, it's kinda giving me Fire Emblem vibes: where there is a clear, consistent story for most of the way, but there's room for the player to still carve a defined path for them. In a game like Pokémon, that blends in quite well. With my idea, it might be...too flexible. I think it'd be lame if a Pokémon like Luxray and a Pokémon like Electivire had a different mission, but that's like...even in a cut Pokedex era...150ish *unique* event triggers? And each player would only see 6 of them because that's how many Pokémon can be crammed into the box at the very beginning of the game, which as you said, isn't very reversible. It's ironic how my idea that was meant to be extremely flexible turns extremely rigid once the game kicks off from that first battle. Mine follows a Mega Man like template of "you beat the 6/8 bad guys, get the thing, beat the big bad guy" but those games infamously take like...an hour to beat. It'd replace the gym structure, but apart from maybe the big bad's tower, there really ain't anything to do because the *entire* games built around the PC thing. Oh and this mini paragraph here was edited in but your idea of "My Rhydon and Gyarados got along well."? Slaps. I'm honestly really shocked there's not anything like that covered in Pokémon media apart from like, Mystery Dungeon. It's something we see a small bit of in like, Pokémon Camp, but establishing connections between Pokémon should help the trainer seem like a unifying cause. Instead of it being basically like your Pokémon are just colleagues at the same office, it really sells the idea of "This trainer is going to win through the power of friendship" which since the whole game is based on that concept, its borderline integral to have Your idea is definitely growing on me after reading this! I really do appreciate you typing this all out (and humoring me in reading mine, too!)
with Lagiacrus being shown when describing "sea monster" i wouldn't be surprised if neo primape was partially inspired by Rajang (the golden fur when powered up doesn't help his case)
@@supreme_king_obama1158 bit of both, since rajang going golden IS a super saiyan refrence in it's own right, but the electric/thunder aspect of ingesting something to get to that point rajang does in fact do with Kirin horns
Water/Ground is a great type. But Swampert already uses it, so maybe Water/Rock would be better- especially since eels live in rocks rather than earth. And while I'm at it, I suggest giving it a hidden ability that makes 2 turn moves take only one turn. Instant dig and dive, and bounce if we're feeling daring, plus Skull Bash could be pretty interesting with the defense boost! And if it's got enough base stats put into Special Attack (seeing as its signature move is like Surf, I'd wager it does), Meteor Beam could instantly rocket it to competitive overuse.
I wonder how Gehtsis plays into this? Considering this apocalypse thing has apparently invaded all over the Pokémon world. I can either assume that Unova has also gone threw the “Neo Kanto” treatment or some sort of living version of Gehtsis has migrated to Neo K. Having Unova also be Neo and being able to explore it as a second region would be so cool.
Well, I had that Smeargal idea for my region. Does anyone else get that sad feeling when people have the same ideas you do, but you can't exactly blame anyone for it?
I tend to go more into amusement and sarcastic conspiracy theories. One of my old critter designs was a blue crocodilian with curvy blue horns. Walked into gamestop one day and saw on the skylanders display- A blue crocodilian with curvy horns. ThEyRe SpYiNg On Me
Maybe Ruffiti's sketch could turn the sketched move into a poison/dark version of the move. Because its intencions are not to copy the exact properties (art) of the move but to do its own version, like if the move was "parody/corruption" of the original move. Also I love all this project~
I’ve noticed that some of these characters look similar to other Pokémon characters. And I believe that Taida is related to Misty, Miss Stone is related to Steven Stone and maybe also Clair, and the scientist with the Magnemite glasses is related to Lysandre
I'm really happy with this new series, even though I love the new Pokémon, I think my favorite thing is keeping the legends arceus gimmick of seeing relatives of current trainers, with Taida being clearly the decendent of Misty and miss stone being one of stephen stone and possibly clair. I hope to see more of them.
I could see a Mewtwo esk Pokemon that combines abilities of other Pokemon, say the claws of a Kabutops, wings of a Charizard, with the rest of the body being cased in a hard shall
missingno could have an ability called “glitch” which could randomize the typing of all pokémon (including itself) on the field, if it has two typing it picks one and randomizes it
The only detail I find kinda iffy is how two of the three starters are part Ground type, but other than that, cool concept! I really, *really* dislike edgy pokémon media, but this seems to hit that sweet spot in the middle.
Okay so things to take note of. Miss Stone has a mega key stone, meaning we are in the timeline where mega's do exist. We also know that Alola is way bigger on research due to Lillie figuring out the new neo evos for the trade only pokemon. This would mean Alola was one of the fortunate regions to not get over run by rabid pokemon (still wanna know the lore behind that) which also brings question on what region did it start in and how did it spread? Would it be like pokeruse (pokemon Virus) and if so then I'd have to guess once the player character gets near areas where it near the edge of the doom or outside the doom the likelihood of getting one of your pokemon infected would be higher than normal games, but the virus could have gotten worse. Making pokemon extremely powerful but taking away hp when they used attacking moves (think a life orb but it doesn't take an item spot) it would take less health than what a life orb would do but it's still a bit problematic. The virus probably wouldn't spread to Pokemon that have abilities that can restore hp like poison heal, dry skin and more. Just ideas. But if that's not what caused a Rabid Pokemon Breakout (or RPB for short) then what did and what connection do they have to the cataclysm?
The New starter's signature move sounds like a very broken move, as setting stealth rock while doing damage with a base 90 power move means that it would be very difficult to stop rock being up against it. In doubles when paired with a storm drain mon, say Gastrodon, will give it a special attack boost, set rocks up, and do damage against both enemy Pokémon. The only thing holding this Pokémon back at all would be stats and it's type.
Yeah, stealth rock is already pretty good specially at singles. While he couls simply reduce the damage, that would lose the impact of the idea of a Tsunami. A few ideas on how to nerf it is to either require a wind-up turn or a recovery turn, like Solar Beam and Hyper Beam, or to make these stealth rocks one use only, dealing damage to the first pokemon that would touch them, as well as maybe slightly lowering the damage. Alternatively, this attack could put rocks on both sides of the field so it would be riskier. Not sure if these optionsake it truly balanced, but I think they would make it more balanced
@@gamegod6859 I was mainly taking about the major weakness to grass, as without reliable ice moves it couldn't do anything against a bulky grass type with rapid spin/defog. But it's type plus it's good signature move would likely put it as a good OU mon.
@@mattiastelister833 I do like your suggestions, but they do have flaws. Wind-up/recharge moves don't find any success, and you would just run surf + stealth rock instead. My favorite option of the ones listed is it only being a one time switch in rocks, but then you would just wall it with a grass type to force a switch, then go to your bulkiest mon, effectively leaving the battle with only some damage taken to a defensive wall. Putting up stealth rock would make it a more of a risk-reward, but I would say that it still wouldn't be a perfect fix, as if they were to not use stealth rock because they knew ahead of time about your starter having the move, they you gave them a free turn. The double stealth rocks is likely the most balanced way to keep stealth rocks, but it isn't without flaws.
Well, he did mention that it would be an action rpg, so i'd imagine that stealth rock being at least slightly less broken in real time combat, since you could dodge it, kinda depends on how the mechanic would be implemented
that would make a lot of sense but it is a legends game so it seems like the characters so far are more related to a past character than one offs like auburn and the steven stone girl whatever it is i hope N is involved in some way
My theory is that this is an AU where Nate/Rosa failed to stop Ghetsis in Black and White 2, thus allowing him to take control of the Unova region. How this led to the Pokemon world being left in ruins is anyways guess. Maybe he became greedy and tried to conquer the other regions as well, in the process ravaging them. Perhaps he tried to restore the Original Dragon using the DNA Splicers, but ended up creating something far worse that he couldn't control, in an eerie parallel to Mewtwo or that weird Groudon creature from the Jirachi movie. All I know is that I'm excited to see what Lockstin came up with, and how it ties back to Ghetsis
Loving these new designs! I feel like Dreel's evolutions being part-Ground definitely means Therpal's evos are getting Neo forms (and Snivy's, by proxy). I'm assuming something like Fire/Poison and Grass/Fairy, respectively. That said, I feel like "Regenerative" sounds a bit too close to Regenerator. Maybe naming it something like Hearty, Wholehearted or Grateful would be a better fit?
Honestly I assume the reason he didn't show the other evolutions for snivy and therpal is just because we've seen them that section of the video is titled "new starter pokemon" I don't see why they wouldn't include the new forms if they were a thing
@@dandyman2182 My assumption is that the regional starter evos will be revealed in a future video, and/or Lockstin and Co. simply haven't made or finalized the designs for them.

Really interesting to see with the calamity that caused all this was, since you mentioned rabid Pokémon, and Ghetsis is in the tittle. Guessing he definitely was the cause of this.
Honestly already really like how this is going, I'm super excited to see more of this stuff, the idea of Neo K being a shelter from rampaging pokemon outside, and the problems inside being left to an internal task force that seems to have be for 'beginners' is super interesting, and I can't wait till we see some of the lore of what it's like outside. I know the main plot is going to be driven by the fact you're a guard, but I want to know where it's gonna go from there, and I can't wait to see some of the newer pokemon you make, and some of the 'neo' regional forms. Honestly the lore of this place is super interesting already. Another important question I have to ask though, since I imagine we'd meet a lot of important characters here- is who else is a part of the guards? "DISMAAAAAAAAN!!!!"
The fact that Thermple is one of the starters means the this is part of the LAGCU (Lockstin and Gnoggin Cincinnatic Universe) Edit:Didn't expect for this comment to get so popular, thanks for liking my stupid MCU reference!
Nah... maybe this is just okay. Idk, I think it takes it too far, plus Annihilape is kinda... rougher? Doesn't seem like they'd be allowed to evolve in Neo Kanto...
The 18 legendary titans could be referring to the Regis, golems made for an unknown purpose by regigigas. Also with the group being literally called usurp, to take a position of power illegally or by force, of course they’d have snake like starters
The scariest thing about this is in the name, Ghetsis was a menace in the games and the Pokemon Adventures manga, so i'm excited to see what role he plays in this game
You have no idea how much I LOVE Neo Primape. The design is just perfectly shows how absolutely crazy and juiced up it is and it’s amazing, especially love the eyes. One of my favorite Pokémon on design alone.
This is shaping up to be quite interesting, and although I have many questions, I'll only ask one. How many of this new future's high-tech devices have Colress' name on them, because he would fit far too well in this environment to be excluded.
I’m so hyped for this series! The thought that has gone into these mons is amazing! The PLA style starter selection, including a fake on from a different series is so cool, plus the the way the Gyrados have been bred, and the mon have adapted to changes is just incredible. Keep up the work loving this series!
Imagine if Snugooi had a secret gimmick in which it had a chance to be immune (or at least resistant) to Guillotine, albeit suffering a major stat drop. This'd be a reference to how some seaslugs can regrow from just their head (For those living under a rock, guillotines were devices used to slice off a person's head). Also, by resistant, I mean taking only a set amount of it's max HP and a big stat drop rather than straight up one-shot.
I am loving this new world of Legends Neo: Ghetsis. The starters and the new pokemon look amazing. I can't wait to see more of it along with more pokemon.
Auburn mentioned Lake of Rage which is technically in the Johto region which means either the johto region was hit harder by the cataclysm and so its population moved to Kanto or there's another district over there
Neo Gardevoir: no cyberpunk dystopia is complete without some kind of synthetic life, has blades that take inspiration from cyberpunk 2077's mantis blades Neo Lucario: basically just a cyberpunk protag, normal has jacket like fur designed based on v's "samurai" jacket from cyberpunk 2077, shiny version is based on davids jacket from cyberpunk edgerunners
I really love this series! I know the descendents of the others (Ms. Stone is obvious steven stone's descendant, captain is Viola, and Taida is Misty's) but what about Sam? Is she a descendant or is she like Adaman and Irida in that she doens't have any? Also, while I do enjoy that the starters are canon + Kaskade + completely original, I do not like that dreel originated in neo kanto. I thought it would have been cool if dreel was from an undiscovered reigon which you would explore later after you finish this.
is this like an alternate timeline where the player couldn't stop the ending of your last region? that's badass i loved your last one I'm so exited for this one
16:24 The first time I watched this video when it came out, I didn't appreciate the joke enough. Holy poop. It's hilarious. Lockstin you're a comedic genius!
Coming back to this video a little after the reveal of Grafaiai for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, and I kept help but think that Neo Smeargle was leaning into that direction of a Graffiti Pokemon. Slightly different though and Poison-Normal instead of Poison-Dark, but fun to consider
You should do another single stage pokemon that looks similar to snugooi except it's actually toxic and has a more evil vibe. Maybe it could even have an ability that causes it to appear as snugooi when entering battle thereby tricking the opponent into thinking that it's harmless(sort of a fun reversal of nontoxic slugs imitating toxic ones).
This reminds me of an idea I had for a Pokemon region/game. Essentially cops and robbers. The two versions would have you play as either "Police" type team or the "Evil Team" equivalent being an new recruit in each and the story would depend on which side you're playing Edit: Also love that you committed to the Dismandurr bit!
I want to personally thank you for giving primeape a design that actually looks good. I always felt that primeape suffered way too much from Gen 1 design philosophy.
A wiki or a website with all the Pokemon and Lockemon that would be in Pokemon Legends Neo Ghetsis that would be soo cool/useful for making fan made trainers or consepts for npc characters. Having a make shift online Pokedex for this series would be SOO COOL
Awesome concepts, really good designs, and just overall a fantastic idea. My only complaint is that I feel like you relied on the poison typing a little too much (also ghost a bit too), but I'm sure we'll see a bit more type diversity if you continue with this
I love the entire Dreel line, especially Boray. It’s always great to see a middle stage mon that isn’t just a half way point between the first and last stages. Plus the idea of a post apocalyptic Kanto region is sick, though I wonder what caused the Pokemon to go feral in the first place.
Absolutely love stickit, so cute and collectible. Also why do I get the feeling a new form for chansey might be coming (mainly I'm wondering what this games nurses are like compared to modern day.)
It would be really cool if Stikit was like arceus but toned down, it would be any type depending on what sticker you give it. For example, a pikachu sticker would make it electric type, boxing gloves would give it fighting type, ETC.
I LOVE STIKIT SO MUCH, as a fan of both Ghost Types and Art, the design might be simple but that only makes its concept bright more and be so fun to look at, this Pokémon is perfect for me, I NEED to do fan art of them, I'd love to be surrounded by a swarm of Stikit.
I'm liking that neo gyarados. would be interesting if it ended up with a third form that becomes dragon water type because of all that condensed nutrients and stuff, but that's just me :D definitely loving the drill eel too. this i one of those few times where I can't decide which starter I would want
Am I the only one who noticed that you can see some far-away neighboring regions in the Neo-K map? The desert area is probably Johto, as it is on the other side of what looks to me like mount silver (you can even see what looks like the lake of rage) The icy area in the right looks kinda like Sinnoh to me with mt. Coronet And the island area at the top of the image kinda looks like Galar and the Isle of Armor to me
i love these new lockemon! though neo gyarados could have been a bit more visually different, it just kinda looks like a shiny gyarados with some parts gone. but its still looks nice, and i dont really know what exactly could have been improved on while using the same general idea

@Ben Well, Torkoal is also a reptile, and arguably Tyranitar too?

Maybe Steven and Clair was her ancestor and They somehow get married
Her beldum is also a connection
Well he did mention the starter choices are different for most guards in training so some would have mudkips and the other gen three starters since birds don't get rabies fish also don't and rodents don't so Pikachu and the pika clones would be fine they's going to be alot of Pokémon that are completely normal
I think her dress is supposed to look like Metagross, since she has a Beldum and the dress has the markings and colour-palette as well.
Her hair looks like the leg of a Metagross

Ngl, I love that Kaskade is canon to this universe- gives me hope that after the kaskade fangame comes out they might start work on a game of this concept too
It might be harder than kascade due to not being a typical Pokémon game, but I think they can manage.
On a side note, I kinda think he should shorten the name to Pokémon neo, ghetsus. Sense its not realy a legend, being set in the future and all.
This is awesome!
I WOULD recommend that the signature move for the water starter, Tsunami, should set one layer of Spikes instead of Stealth Rocks. The reason is because:
1. Balancing. Stealth Rocks are already really strong and I think it would be too strong in conjunction with Surf Damage.
2. Spikes are a ground type move so it would better with the Pokemon’s type.
How many poison types do you want in the region?
Lockstin: yes
I mean, this is KANTO we're talking about here!
(I. e. If you picked Dragonite, one of the missions has you finding it in a Dragons Den reminiscent section, but you don't experience that in your playthrough if you didn't choose Dragonite)
If the effort was put in, your idea sounds like a very malleable game, making each person's experience almost personalized
Some examples of what these voice lines might look like:
"I vividly remember the day i choose my *starter pokemon* " (what follows is a flashback scene where the character choose their starter for the first time)
"I remember the first wild pokemon i ever caught and added to my team. I've had a special bond with it ever since" (you then choose from a list of pokemon, mostly early game birds, dogs, rodents, bugs and bats, meek poison types used by evil team grunts like ekans and skunktank, possibly a garados or raichu etc. No clever flashback sequence)
"In the volcanic hot springs i added a *true powerhouse* of a pokemon to my team" (as with 'first pokemon', you choose from a list rather than having a cool flashback and choosing in the flashback, this time choosing something like a tyranitar, magmar, garados, tauros, and other physically large, heavy and powerful normal, rock, ground, steel, dragon and water types)
"One of my *important pokemon* nearly got lost in the shuffle at the S.S. Anne" (followed by a flashback scene where a police officer shows you a line up of pokemon and asks which one is yours, you pick one, that one was always yours, with the pokemon you can choose from being many of the ones you haven't chosen earlier)
"There they were, all three [legendary bird / legendary dog trio], but i was only ever able to catch one of them" (flashback scene where all three are present you pick one of the three to catch, the rest getting away)
"I actiually got one of my more *unique pokemon* from trading, back when that was still possible" (you then choose from a list of mostly trade-evolved pokemon, plus possibly one or two gift only pokemon like togekiss, mr mime or the eeveelutions, maybe even an starter from another region but off an type you already again, again chosen from a list rather than having a flashback, but depending on the pokemon chosen you cannonically traded with a different person to get it, which may have story impact)
"In that old abandoned warehouse, i found a *truly strange pokemon* indeed" (you choose from a list of ditto, smeargle, mimikyu, rotom, electrode, snorlax, sudowoodo, porygon, zoruark and similar pokemon that are either known for being overworld pokemon, being particularly gimmicy or both)
"There was this *specialized pokemon* i caught in order to overcome a difficult battle" (choose from a list, with each pokemon being tied to a different trainer you beat using them, an Exploud being used to defeat a trainer focused on sound, a trapper pokemon you used to overcome an annoying juggler, a mon with lightning rod against an certain electric type trainer, or simply a pokemon of a certain type exploiting an elemental weakness for a gym)
"A gym leader actiually inspired me to pick up a *certain pokemon* to train with" (you choose from a list of gym leaders, then from a list of pokemon related to that gym leader)
"There was this *elusive pokemon* i had that was particularly difficult to catch" (gives you a list of pokemon, Audino, Blissey, Milotic, Lapras, Vespiqueen, safari-zone associated mons like syther and kangaskan, split evolution mons with harder requirements like slowking, pokemon that are usually only caught in late game areas like mountains and deserts (such as flygon), generally a bunch of ice, ghost, psychic, dark and electric types)
So on and so fourth
I donno, i just think such an approach would be more organic, and play harder into the roleplaying part of the RPG genre
I think if youre given the P.C. box at the beginning of the game, it parallels the Battle SIM at the beginning of (I think...XD?) Where it's "yoooo I start with a Salamence??", plus it lets teambuilders or even newbies gravitate to their favorites
Let's just say there's a new player who only really knows Pokémon from like, an anime episode he saw once and Smash Bros. The PC box approach would let him gravitate to the ones he recognizes, and maybe even throw in a random one in the shopping cart that catches his eyes as he scrolls "yoooo, why isn't THIS guy in Smash? Garchomp? This guy's rad!"
Plus through this way in seeing the original poster's prompt, it let's the player have an obvious goal in mind.
"OK, this super mega evil guy stole my Charizard, I want it back!" And it builds to the climax of him being reunited with it and being excited to use it again apart from the tutorial fight before the Celebi
@@jakethedragonymaster1235
(just to be clear; under my suggestion the questionares / prompts would be spread out over the course of the game, rather than being dumped right at the start. It's the "What's your name" pokemon trope insofar as it is the player character filling other characters in on information they 'remember' as a way of letting the player decide that information themselves, their own character's name, their rival's name etc. Just realized that might have been a bit confusing)
I get the strength in knowing all the mons you want from the start and having something to work towards, and it's not like the PC box approach would have to be completely abandoned, it's more that it would allow some of the decision-making to be spread out over time, say the tutorial starts with something like "alright, i only need to pick [either 3 or 4] more pokemon for my fight against [insert villain]", with the remaining 2 or 3 pokemon being ones you get to retroactively decide at a later point during the adventure, halfway or 2/3rds of the way through or something. (also flashbacks reduces the need for the list of pokemon you need to choose from at the box from being too big, mostly the especially famous, popular or notable ones, while still alowing more options to be available later down the line)
As for the concern of not enough build freedom, well there would likely be a lot of overlap in the brackets of pokemon each flashback offers, plus the player would likely have some controll over what flashback they want to encounter each opportunity they have for a flashback sequence and once they have experienced a few flashbacks they also get to choose which of the remembered mons were actiually on their team in the first place / which of the pokemon are relevant to the story.
Here's a fun idea: the game could potentially involve other pokemon from the past that aren't strictly part of your 6 pokemon team; maybe a significant pokemon (maybe a starter / mythical / legendary or whatever else) was stolen by the evil team and one of the things the tutorial confrontation was about could have been retriving it, maybe the player encounters a pokemon it recognizes as beloning to an friendly / unfriendly rival that they take with them to reunite the pokemon with it's trainer back in the past (again with dynamics your pokemon might have had with that pokemon, make it feel like that pokemon is part of your trainer's history)
apologies if i sound a bit rude or defensive that is not my intent also brainstorming this concept has probably been one of the most enriching creative excercises i have had in years
@@defensivekobra3873 oh just before I hop into all this I wanna add that I actually love reading and writing out these kind of ideas: despite the large chunks of text one might assume to be an argument, I have interpreted this as like, storyboarding/ idea pitching.
Instead of it being basically like your Pokémon are just colleagues at the same office, it really sells the idea of "This trainer is going to win through the power of friendship" which since the whole game is based on that concept, its borderline integral to have
Your idea is definitely growing on me after reading this! I really do appreciate you typing this all out (and humoring me in reading mine, too!)

Water/Ground is a great type. But Swampert already uses it, so maybe Water/Rock would be better- especially since eels live in rocks rather than earth.

The only thing holding this Pokémon back at all would be stats and it's type.
yet water/ground is one of the franchises best type combos
You know we haven’t seen why it’s called ghetsis unless he was the reason for the cataclysm and all the rabid pokemon where controlled by him
i think the cataclysm is ghetsis freezing the world with kyeurem
that would make a lot of sense but it is a legends game so it seems like the characters so far are more related to a past character than one offs like auburn and the steven stone girl whatever it is i hope N is involved in some way
My theory is that this is an AU where Nate/Rosa failed to stop Ghetsis in Black and White 2, thus allowing him to take control of the Unova region.
@@dataexpunged4784 Well if that was the case, the world would be frozen instead of apocalyptic
@@risel56 it could be i didnt get that impression but either way I'd be happy i already love serperior and therpals evo I always forget its name tarmandoa I think?
It's so funny that Neo Smeargle was made and then TPC comes out and revealed Grafaiai close after. Might have another graffiti pokemon in Neo K soon
Really interesting to see with the calamity that caused all this was, since you mentioned rabid Pokémon, and Ghetsis is in the tittle. Guessing he definitely was the cause of this.
So looking forward to the rest of this series. I'm already in love with the starters. I couldn't pick just one. I want them all!
amen time to buy both versions of the game and trade with myself ;)
The fact that Thermple is one of the starters means the this is part of the LAGCU (Lockstin and Gnoggin Cincinnatic Universe)
Edit:Didn't expect for this comment to get so popular, thanks for liking my stupid MCU reference!
Well now where going to have a multiverse of madness now we just need nurse weird
I love the part where he says "it lockin time!". ;)
Better have jeff bezels granddaughter in the game and she turned all the amazal warehouses into fortifications and towns
I like the the scene where Therpal was like “it’s Therpin time!” and Therps all over the entire apocalypse Quartet!
hey if therpal is here that means the events from the other lockemon Region are cannon so this is a worse case outcome for it's post game
This series is actually amazing. It’s really cool to see people adapting to a corrupted-like version of a region we know and love.
So now we need a neo-Kantoian Annihilape. Continue with Fighting/Electric or Electric/Ghost Maybe?
Yes.
Nah... maybe this is just okay. Idk, I think it takes it too far, plus Annihilape is kinda... rougher? Doesn't seem like they'd be allowed to evolve in Neo Kanto...
Love the design of the Guardian mask. So cool! And that synthesised voice from the mask... I want this game to be a thing now
The 18 legendary titans could be referring to the Regis, golems made for an unknown purpose by regigigas. Also with the group being literally called usurp, to take a position of power illegally or by force, of course they’d have snake like starters
Would make sense, and adding a Regi of every type is dope. Also, they called them Titans, which make sense considering the size of Regigigas
I’m so happy that Snivy was used as a starter because it hasn’t been in any recent games and besides Fennekin it’s my favorite starter
I feel like no one talks about Lockstin's editing style enough like brooo its actually insane skills
I think he works with a team. But yeah, him and his team are super good :D
@@limeyell0w945 I'm so happy ya'll are enjoying the series! I'm having a blast editing these! :D
@@Nosidda yay
Love that Bird Keeper Toby played Taida, it's been a while since I've seen you guys collab so I'm so happy to see you guys working together again!
Something I think would fun to play with is what if their was a Mario's Mushroom Kingdom or Zelda's Hyrule inspired pokemon regions.
Stikik might be the best fakemon I've seen, if it existed it would easily by my fave pokemon by a long shot
I love seeing the comedic use of Dismandur. I completely forgot about the Lockemon until it popped out of nowhere. I love it.
I am loving this new world of Legends Neo: Ghetsis. The starters and the new pokemon look amazing. I can't wait to see more of it along with more pokemon.
My problem is the tsunderia bit every thing else is great
Auburn sounds so done with everything.
Also I really like these RP-style setups you have for these types of videos!
That QR code on Monqoer is both intriguing and Terrifying, I don’t want it to be a rick roll lmao.
Great Vid as always Lockstin, keep it up!
It's not a rickroll but i also don't want to spoil it either 😁
it’s a very important video you need to scan it
@@KubickQ huh, i can’t scan it anyways, doesn’t let me
@@tridexproductions1963 welp
@@KubickQ is it like a video or website?
Auburn mentioned Lake of Rage which is technically in the Johto region which means either the johto region was hit harder by the cataclysm and so its population moved to Kanto or there's another district over there
Neo Gardevoir: no cyberpunk dystopia is complete without some kind of synthetic life, has blades that take inspiration from cyberpunk 2077's mantis blades
Neo Lucario: basically just a cyberpunk protag, normal has jacket like fur designed based on v's "samurai" jacket from cyberpunk 2077, shiny version is based on davids jacket from cyberpunk edgerunners
I love how the QR code you showed went to acquire the sire
The fact that steven's kid (or grandkid) is a spoiled little princess is absolutely perfect
Well she is the kid (or grandkid) or a hoeen champion, and the grandkid (or great grandkid) of a huge business conglomerate that could rival silph co
@@supreme_king_obama1158 exactly
Well now that Neo Primeape and Anhilape exists Neo Anhilape is going to horrify me.
The two versions would have you play as either "Police" type team or the "Evil Team" equivalent being an new recruit in each and the story would depend on which side you're playing
Edit: Also love that you committed to the Dismandurr bit!
miss stone is so rich that she uses a freaking MEGA STONE for decoration
I love what you're doing with the kanto region, this looks really cool and I can't wait to see more
I want to personally thank you for giving primeape a design that actually looks good. I always felt that primeape suffered way too much from Gen 1 design philosophy.
I hope dismandurr stays as an occasional gag, that was hilarious
Grameleon seems like it should have a Link Between Worlds reference in it
also, the “old” starters should have different final evolutions as well
A wiki or a website with all the Pokemon and Lockemon that would be in Pokemon Legends Neo Ghetsis that would be soo cool/useful for making fan made trainers or consepts for npc characters. Having a make shift online Pokedex for this series would be SOO COOL
cant wait to see what type of pokemon come out from this series
I feel like a Snugooi blanket would be *perfect* merch
Awesome concepts, really good designs, and just overall a fantastic idea. My only complaint is that I feel like you relied on the poison typing a little too much (also ghost a bit too), but I'm sure we'll see a bit more type diversity if you continue with this
I love the entire Dreel line, especially Boray. It’s always great to see a middle stage mon that isn’t just a half way point between the first and last stages. Plus the idea of a post apocalyptic Kanto region is sick, though I wonder what caused the Pokemon to go feral in the first place.
Okay, every time he said "icky paintlike goo", my mind filled in the "It's moving!" from Mario Sunshine
OH WAIT is this where the futuristic robot paradox pokemon come from in pokemon violet?!?!?
this video was made before those mons were revealed, but that would be cool!
I mean...I wouldn't be surprised.
Absolutely love stickit, so cute and collectible.
Also why do I get the feeling a new form for chansey might be coming (mainly I'm wondering what this games nurses are like compared to modern day.)
Really loving your works both this and kaskade
I'm going to assume the 'Neo' Pokemon are unique to the city, as I'm sure their original forms still reside out in the wild.
A graffiti Pokemon was just announced, and I'm glad locke here got it first
If this is supposed to be a world where ghetsis convinced a bunch of trainers to release their pokemon it's a very cool take on that
Am I the only one who noticed that you can see some far-away neighboring regions in the Neo-K map?
The desert area is probably Johto, as it is on the other side of what looks to me like mount silver (you can even see what looks like the lake of rage)
The icy area in the right looks kinda like Sinnoh to me with mt. Coronet
And the island area at the top of the image kinda looks like Galar and the Isle of Armor to me
i love these new lockemon! though neo gyarados could have been a bit more visually different, it just kinda looks like a shiny gyarados with some parts gone. but its still looks nice, and i dont really know what exactly could have been improved on while using the same general idea
I think that big difference is size like normal garydos is the same size as onix i think the neo garydos is only a bit bigger than magikarp
Would it’s shiny colors be normal Gyarados’?
