You're not in california, and you're not paying a joiner to do it and pretending it's all your own work. Don't beat yourself up, it's your work and it's your home. It's a great start. A real van lifers van. We'll played.
Good job on using the original wood panels which is what I did in my transit connect, but a top tip for painting the thin ply panels is to paint both the inside and outside off panel with primer stops the panel warping when you top coat the outer face off the panel
Hi there only just seen your videos on UA-cam, I also live in a van and converted it myself, a little tip when it comes to your lino for the future, remove ya panels from van, lay your lino upside down with panels on top and cut round, then you can put panels back in van and apply your lino with spray glue & its already cut to size, also expanding foam for your insulation, it's really good for getting in all the knocks and crannies 🚐🤟x
Good job 👏. Nothing seems to faze you whatever happens. You have a wonderful attitude and always happy. Carry on with with the good work. Stay safe, happy and healthy.
Whenever I've done van builds, I go down to the big shops or retail parks and pickup a lot of cardboard. They often leave it out, or happy to give to you often. Then I just gaffer tape sections together, and trim them up with scissors and craft knife as I'm figuring out layouts, to make templates before I cut any wood or timber. It's also worth having a few cans of trimfix around for sticking down odd bits of insulation, foil, carpeting, etc., Ikea's ex-demo sale section is a good place to get cheap cabinets and units. Looking forward to seeing the end result now you've got so much space after the Kangoo.
I have the same van. In the back corners inside the walls just below floor level there is a hole about 20mm fitted with a rubber grommet. I used one of there holes as an air vent. Remove the rubber grommet and fit a 40mm 12v cpu fan over the hole to extract air from the cabin. This will draw fresh air from the front for ventilation and also reduce fogging up the wind screen. I put a speed control on the fan too. My front windows have weather shields so I can open the windows slightly for air to flow in, keeping rain out.
Being a mobile mechanic and a keen diy'er I'm pretty good on the tools and problem solving but you only get really skilled by experience and the failures are your harsh best freind for getting that lesson sunk in! Even us experts get it wrong from time to time, even monkeys fall out of trees! Think you have done a grand job, keep it up.
Thanks Gaz!! It's been alot of effort and financially draining, that's why it's taken so frigging long! But I appreciate your kind words! Nearly finished with the build!
You are so humble and funny! This is such a great channel, how you deal with the things thrown at you while converting is very inspiring! Keep the vids coming 🤩
I haven't even started to live in a van - a month in a car . But i am hands down the happiest i have ever been in my life. Which is insane considering that i used to live in a decent four bed house. I am eyeballing vivaro at the moment. Can you share any van build related resources ?
I have not seen the way you done the lino before and it was brilliant and worked well. Little was cut from the new panel, so as you say that can do the rest of it. Coming along really good and that's the worst of it done now.
Don't understand why you don't take holiday and have a whole werk to do stuff instead of just a weekend ... oh well perhaps you do that later on so I'll keep watching 👍👍💯💯

I’m more addicted to your channel as much as I was with Game Of Thrones!! Love it! …
Woah that's quite the statement! Thank you!

Oh wow man top tip, I'll look into that

@@Nomadickangoo your welcome mate slow progress is better than no progress!
Congrats on 100k views by the way.

Well done lad, get yourself a diesel heater for the winter👍
Maybe get some high temperature spray glue to hold the insulation against the walls
Ah the joys of converting a vivaro, I feel your pain.
I thought it would be easy as it's so square.. but it is not.. haha 🤣
Not as square when you get down to it as we found out, you'll do a cracking job though
Loving your work, keep the vids coming :)

Thanks mate, making it up as I go along.. seems to be working so far 🤣
well done ..
Someone’s experimenting with new graphics. I love it 🥰
Gotta use that degree somewhere
The glue is contact adhesive hopefully you sprayed the wood and the lino if not it might come unstuck but hopefully you’re gonna be sweet as
Yah I quickly learnt that when the darn thing wouldn't stick 🤣 but figured it out
Come on we need more vids!, how's the van coming on mate?
Good effort mate 👍 it a pain in back side to get the insulation all put in but once it done it feel like a weight is off your shoulders haha
I want to do this - i think you are doing a great job. - Im in Welwyn if you need anything for the van.
Don't understand why you don't take holiday and have a whole werk to do stuff instead of just a weekend ... oh well perhaps you do that later on so I'll keep watching 👍👍💯💯
Save my holidays for adventures 😍 after all that's what the van is for
Collateral damage while using a jigsaw? It's a rite of passage! Welcome to the honourable clan of bodgers. 😎
I feel so accepted, thank you!
Doing good job mate if you need help with anything give me a shout ✌️✌️
Hello bud hope all is ok I just brought a energiser power station and I was wondering if you could recommend a good solar charger for it thanks 🙏
You should have just carpeted them original panels
Thought you were leaving the upper panel because of putting in window?…
when is your next video coming out??
I decided to work on one long video of a full conversation, rather than little bits so I can focus on the build for now
@@Nomadickangoo Fair enough. a good idea. Also, I know you say you're not a "how to" channel - you do inspire. greetings from Spain by the way
I have a question can you advise me that if my van is going to go rusted because I left the rubber underneath the wood?
Did you put some sort of vapour barrier between the wood panels and the metal walls and floor?
@@Nomadickangoo some of the silver stuff
@@luisacowan331 then you should be ok, try and keep the van well ventilated, cracking a window at night or installing a fan. Good luck
Someone will but ur old ply panels
You should have just cut the one u made in two
Have you put sound deadening in there?
Yep all sounded up
Dude, I laughed so hard at this video.
But you made a damned good start.
Thanks mate!
