    The build is coming along nicely, well done on everything so far! Key to reduce condensation is ventilation. You have those plastic wind deflectors on the front side windows which allows you to gap them a couple inches all the time without rain etc getting in although can let the cold in! I would also recommend installing a diesel heater (I have one of the cheap chinese ones now for the last 3 years and no problem), the obvious benefit is they give out excellent heat to keep you warm! They give off a "dry" heat so will dry the van and take condensation out. By dry heat I mean it doesn't use a butane flame (like on a camp stove etc) which gives off water vapour and actually creates condensation!! All the best with the build 🙂

    Easiest way to increase your airflow is to have a drophole in floor, (shield with mesh to prevent critter ingress).
    This will give an air input allowing your roof vent to actually expel the humid air in the van and creating airflow using no power.

    Great video, I loved watching you work on this project. It looks like the insulation made an instant improvement. Thanks for sharing your journey. I used to live in a proper campervan with a pop up roof and all the cupboards, sink, fridge etc. but now I've scaled down to an all wheel drive SUV. I just want to say that wood is heavy and fuel is expensive these days so consider keeping your build as light as possible. I see so many builds that look like they weigh a tonne. I could never imagine towing around ceramic tiles, timber furniture or a full size oven every day like some people do. A heavy build not only costs more in fuel but is more taxing on the engine and suspension etc and can lead to expensive repairs or upgrades required down the road. Keep it light and simple and you'll get a lot further 😊 happy travels ❤️

    Good video buddy - I have been n my van for 18 months now - a few weeks out but all in all I have enjoyed it. - dont put covers on your front and side windows - moisture will be attracted to the cold glass and thus keeps you dry in the back. vapour barriers ONLY work when they are perfect. When they aren't perfect they allow moisture through, and will trap moisture. There are moisture barriers however that allow moisture through only one way. This way any moisture inside has an opportunity to escape. Best thing is to have plenty of air movement (but not too much) and a dry heat like a diesel heater or a wood stove. Good luck man!

    I do not know how cold it gets in your area, I am in Canada and plan to put a small wood stove in my van, I have down so before. They completely eliminate all moisture in the entire van. • @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN
      @pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN Рік тому

      You really need some heat going on inside the van, hot air can hold way more moisture than cold air so...moisture gets absorbed (generally speaking) into the hot air, then goes out a High placed vent; the higher the better.
      There will always be some kind of energy loss in these situations but that's the price you pay.
      Adequate ventilation plus keeping warm is a must anyway for Good health, so heating and venting solves two potential problems. Cold and damp with stale air is not a Good situation to be in as I'm quite sure you know 👍
