Hi buddy. One fee simple bit of advice to remember for next time you’re having a bad time, or a good time for that matter. You will never find happiness externally. Things, possessions, friends even the love of your life will not bring you happiness. To find it you simply look within. Until you can find happiness, acceptance, contentment and joy within you, you will have ups and downs. Once you find it inside yourself, every day will be as happy as the one before and the next will be.

Nice to see fellow van dwellers. I been in my van 3 yrs now too. U gotta be a special type of person to do this. It's the simple things, getting out in nature, saving money, not being trapped in work and free to roam that drew me to this. It's helped my mental state so much and I'm a totally new person and I feel like I'm in control of my own life.
Yes mate! It sounds mad to say that just living in a van can reinvent you, but having the stresses of life taken away (which are disgusting we are forced to live that way anyway..) you really start to feel free. Stay safe out there buddy 💪

I did a similar thing, lived in a van, in fact I still do while I'm at work. But I bought a derelict bungalow up in Lincolnshire, I lived in my van while I renovated it. Now I have a place to store some stuff and fix my van when it breaks down! I would recommend getting a place or some land, you are in the unique position where you can live cheaply and save money to buy a place fairly quickly compared to most. Nice video!

This is what I try to do every summer: rent a van, put a matress in it and go exploring. I did it last year and I did Scotland in a car too. Best trip ever. I will try to go France for a couple of weeks next summer. And you're so right... Having a sidekick would be great. I'm looking for an adventurous woman too. Some of the views on those trips and the mornings with mountains in the background would be just that much better with a lady friend for sure! Good luck on your travels 👍

Personally, I don't see a problem with someone living in a van, so long as there is a job, and I'm not having to support him. That said, I'm to old for you, but I believe the right girl won't mind the van... Maybe she will have a van of her own! Good luck, have fun!
i use portable compressor dehumidifier and portable electric heater when im at work parking lot, very comfy despite crappy weather. But you need an outlet, offgrid can be totally miserable...
Nice to see you out there still enjoying the van life. I first commented one of your posts back in September when I bought my peugeot tepee. It will finally be converted next month so trip down from Scotland to Midlands. Time flies. Yes you are right, we don't know what is round the corner. This year will be 4 years after losing my 1st partner and a year after losing my 2nd partner. Not easy at times but I push myself forward. I have campsites booked for beginning of May as a treat for my birthday. I will walk up 4 Northern munros so cannot wait. I would like to explore more this year and it would be great to share it with someone enthusiastic as me. My broken heart is healing and it needs time. I am grateful that I live in Scotland. Mountains round the corner, magic sunrises on the top of a hill, lochs, even just a simple road trip, peace and quiet, well apart of the midges 🤣 Happy travels and stay safe

Youll get a lot of judgement of course when dating but remember what you're doing takes balls. You're doing what makes you happy and playing by your own rules which the majority of people never manage at any age. There's good women out there who will judge you on your character and not on where you live. If anything, living in a van will help you avoid superficial people who are looking for money/status/social approval and help you find someone who loves you for your courage and strength of character.
Mate you hit the nail on the head, the van is the perfect way to filter out bad options. There's nothing wrong if a girl doesn’t want a man in a van, they are entitled to their preference, but if a girl is accepting of the van from the start then there may be great potential! 😃
I love it when I see NK has uploaded. It’s always nice to see you, you’re such a lovely young man. My little microcamper has been my saviour (mentally) & I couldn’t be without it. Respect. I admire that you're living van life. I saved much money over around 5 years and now live in my first mortgaged property (Reading, Berkshire) which is and has been amazing BUT i have neglected travel and seeing the world in that time and i plan to make up those losses in the future. Ive also wanted to see the swiss alps for a long time so hopefully can go car camping myself in my 2002 ford focus and see them with my own eyes. GREAT HONEST REAL CONTENT. thank you

Good to see you man. Been with you from the start, totally agree, I had an accident in April and only just had my operation a week ago. If it weren't for friends and my daughter god knows what would have happened to me and my dogs. I think putting something in place for the unforseen is vital for vanners. The break up vid was very moving. Your still young, I'm sure your sidekick is round the corner. Here's to the next 3 years. 😊

Good idea doing the recap of the last 3 years and it shows just how quickly they have passed by. A few down periods but mainly fun adventures. Hopefully the events unfolding for all of us, won't affect you as much doing things away from crowds and all of the stinking bills, that those with homes have to pay. That will only be worse next year along with the other stuff going on. Enjoy vanlife adventures for as long as you can and it's been great viewing 👍
@@Nomadickangoo Thanks Alex, I never thought that I would be a squatter, in the home that I've lived in for 12 years. No fault evictions are rife as landlords sell up and I now await the court order and bailiffs. 100's being made homeless each week here and it looks like car life for me soon, as renting anywhere else is way too expensive. It's all unfolding as we suspected it would. I will need to find a Pug Palace or a Kangoo soon.🙂

Strong of you to start that new job in another city. Im getting a Citroen Berlingo in 4 days, about the size of your first van. Im so pumped :D
Just found your channel a few days ago and I actually went back and have watched every video in order, really enjoyed them. I do find your attitude to life a bit refreshing, especially the tough stuff. I'm part way through converting a campervan, and it's taken me a year so far, no end in sight. I've used all my holidays up this year, every single one, just working on the van. For some reason it seems to take me 10x as long as anyone else. Getting there though. I started it because my partner of 12 years and I used to camp a lot, but her health is declining rapidly and now can't walk without a stick, so the plan was to convert it over last winter and be able to go on adventures again this year. Well that's not happened, we've slept in it 3 times so far. Should be done for next year though!

Another channel I've discovered recently and really enjoyed is @TheJammyGits, they built their van over 3 months but it was essentially a flat out build, all day every day. I would love to do van living. But in my country it is so expensive to own a car (roughly £10,000 a year) due to parking costs, road tolls and road taxes. Which is more than my yearly rent.

I normally park in plain view, just wait for it to be dark, and get in the back, my van looks like a work van, so I don't think anyone actually thinks anyone is in it. And then just leave nice and early in the morning. 👍✌️

If I did van life id save 450 rent 100 council tax. 30 quid water . 150 in energy bills a month. No brainer really it's taking the first step that's the hardest. The little pots of money would grow quickly.
@@Nomadickangoo going through it for the last year with my Mrs. Right now it’s kids and money holding it all together. Thought a lot about how Van life could be the solution. I’m a member of a fishing syndicate where I could basically go after work everyday, fish, have facilities so basically free camping pitch. But then ulez came in and now any van in my affordability is now no longer valid as I work at Heathrow and my kids and everything we do is inside the zone.
I moved to the UK in 2019 and got 2 jobs online developing code for a game maker and a content creator, between both and working 80 hours a week from home I earned an after-tax 1,000 a week, and my wife worked full time and paid our living cost 100% for 4 years, because last month we moved into the house I bought for us in cash 195k, still have about 7k in the bank, learn to code on my own, learn how to score the jobs on my own. Couples working together can do anything they set their minds on without settling for owning a van, not a home.3 weeks ago I quit both jobs and am about to open my dream thing, a food truck and food content, and do some traveling at food events across the UK, I am from Florida, and my wife is British. Living in a van is not an accomplishment, doing what we did in a pandemic/war/UK failed Brexit environment with no prior savings, I showed up in the UK with an engagement ring and a plan.

I saved much money over around 5 years and now live in my first mortgaged property (Reading, Berkshire) which is and has been amazing BUT i have neglected travel and seeing the world in that time and i plan to make up those losses in the future. Ive also wanted to see the swiss alps for a long time so hopefully can go car camping myself in my 2002 ford focus and see them with my own eyes. GREAT HONEST REAL CONTENT. thank you

Good to see you man. Been with you from the start, totally agree, I had an accident in April and only just had my operation a week ago. If it weren't for friends and my daughter god knows what would have happened to me and my dogs. I think putting something in place for the unforseen is vital for vanners. Good idea doing the recap of the last 3 years and it shows just how quickly they have passed by. A few down periods but mainly fun adventures. Hopefully the events unfolding for all of us, won't affect you as much doing things away from crowds and all of the stinking bills, that those with homes have to pay. That will only be worse next year along with the other stuff going on. Enjoy vanlife adventures for as long as you can and it's been great viewing 👍

@@Nomadickangoo Thanks Alex, I never thought that I would be a squatter, in the home that I've lived in for 12 years. No fault evictions are rife as landlords sell up and I now await the court order and bailiffs. 100's being made homeless each week here and it looks like car life for me soon, as renting anywhere else is way too expensive. It's all unfolding as we suspected it would. I will need to find a Pug Palace or a Kangoo soon.🙂

Just found your channel a few days ago and I actually went back and have watched every video in order, really enjoyed them. I do find your attitude to life a bit refreshing, especially the tough stuff.
I'm part way through converting a campervan, and it's taken me a year so far, no end in sight. I've used all my holidays up this year, every single one, just working on the van. For some reason it seems to take me 10x as long as anyone else. Getting there though.
I started it because my partner of 12 years and I used to camp a lot, but her health is declining rapidly and now can't walk without a stick, so the plan was to convert it over last winter and be able to go on adventures again this year. Well that's not happened, we've slept in it 3 times so far. Should be done for next year though!
Wow man what a story! Don't worry about everyone else, I'm sure it takes them ages as well but UA-cam videos can make it seem shorter.. I hope you and your partner enjoy many years in your new wonderful camper ✌️

Another channel I've discovered recently and really enjoyed is @TheJammyGits, they built their van over 3 months but it was essentially a flat out build, all day every day. Theirs is a lot nicer than mine though. 😆

I would love to do van living.
But in my country it is so expensive to own a car (roughly £10,000 a year) due to parking costs, road tolls and road taxes. Which is more than my yearly rent.

I normally park in plain view, just wait for it to be dark, and get in the back, my van looks like a work van, so I don't think anyone actually thinks anyone is in it. And then just leave nice and early in the morning. 👍✌️

If I did van life id save 450 rent 100 council tax. 30 quid water . 150 in energy bills a month. No brainer really it's taking the first step that's the hardest. The little pots of money would grow quickly.

I’m a member of a fishing syndicate where I could basically go after work everyday, fish, have facilities so basically free camping pitch. But then ulez came in and now any van in my affordability is now no longer valid as I work at Heathrow and my kids and everything we do is inside the zone.

I moved to the UK in 2019 and got 2 jobs online developing code for a game maker and a content creator, between both and working 80 hours a week from home I earned an after-tax 1,000 a week, and my wife worked full time and paid our living cost 100% for 4 years, because last month we moved into the house I bought for us in cash 195k, still have about 7k in the bank, learn to code on my own, learn how to score the jobs on my own. Couples working together can do anything they set their minds on without settling for owning a van, not a home.3 weeks ago I quit both jobs and am about to open my dream thing, a food truck and food content, and do some traveling at food events across the UK, I am from Florida, and my wife is British. Living in a van is not an accomplishment, doing what we did in a pandemic/war/UK failed Brexit environment with no prior savings, I showed up in the UK with an engagement ring and a plan.
