Can we talk about how good Puwexil is at these? There's a lot of great runners, but Puwexil has really good presence for them. Knows when to talk, knows when to not talk, shares information when it's interesting. And smooth game play. High five, Puwexil.
@@PinkMawile Yeah, as much as I feel rose-tinted glasses are responsible for Chrono Trigger being the "greatest game of all time" at the end of the day, it really is an incredible game. The speedrun was awesome
@@wacpj1929 tbh, I played it first four years back and I thought it was pretty fantastic. I do like other games better, but most of them do more things wrong than Chrono Trigger imo. (Just get the 'right' stuff more right :P)
Wow....just wow! I found myself jumping up and cheering.....3 million at a GDQ is amazing. 1 million on this one game (250k incentive for 100 percent plus nearly 800k during the run itself). Congratulations to all the people involved, and hopefully will get to see my first GDQ live next year in Florida. Game on!
I listen to this run almost on the daily for 2 years now because it soothes me more than music when I work or go to sleep. And now I hear about the death of Akira Toriyama and it makes me sad. Dragonball is cool and all, but THIS is what I'll remember him for first. His work is forever immortalized as he will live beyond the Corridors of Time.
Watching Puwexil finish the game with the crowd cheering in the background, and hearing the Festival of Stars and To Good Friends music playing as the amount hit 3 million was one of the greatest things I've ever experienced in gaming.
God, this was my favorite finale in a GDQ. We have one of the best RPGs of all time coupled with boatloads of hype, an amazing runner with a great couch, and a ton of love from both the room and Twitch chat. Near the end of the run people were gifting subs left and right, and chat was positively exploding. To think that the record would be absolutely smashed this year had me taken by surprise, and I loved every minute of it. I'm not ashamed to say that I got kind of emotional. The energy was real, it was positive, and it was incredible.

This was the greatest run I've ever seen in my couple of years watching GDQ. The crowd, the hype, so many memorable and tense moments, hitting that 200k incentie at the last second when it seem impossible, getting like 40k in 5 minutes, the subs and bits being added right as the AGDQ 2019 was broken, the ending, that insane last push for the 3 million, hitting at the end with the Chrono Trigger credits music. What a ride!
Alon Mercer this run was an awesome cap to a legendary GDQ. Three of my top five runs ever happened this SGDQ, between this Chrono Trigger 100%, the Delta Rune Pacifist Race, the Punchout Wii Blindfolded... seriously, a ton of amazing runs went into this 3 million
I've watched this run a few times now, and there is just no way I can make it through that last hour without tearing up. The energy, the love, the hype, its all just amazing.
Man, the way "To Good friends" hit just as Puwexil puts down the controller and takes off his headset while everyone is cheering having just crossed that 3million threshold was just perfect. Amazing moment to witness.

Just enjoyed everything and everyone. Thank you all for delivering such a great piece of history!
I stayed up to watch this live and it was super exciting watching milestones being hit over and over in the space of a couple hours. Kept during the counter at just over 2M, then beating the past GDQ's donation totals, the menu stalling to get to Spekkio, and finally the standing ovation for 3M really got me and I almost shouted out 'YES!' but my wife was dead asleep next to me. I love how much excitement there was at reaching the donation goals. It's always a real treat to see a community coming together for a great cause.
This is the BEST run I’ve ever seen.
Thank you
No idea who SporadicErratic was before this event, but she's easily a top 3 host for me as far as GDQs go. She keeps the hype going. Also this whole run was hype af, wish I could have seen it live. D:
You guys are so amazing wish I could donate keep up the great work.
Greetings from 2020! Rewatching this as this year comes to a close really does a lot to mend a heavy heart for how different things had to be only a year later. But it's temporary, and I know that we'll have another SGDQ that has wild energy like the one above ended with.
Gotta say the runner was on point. Excellent run
What a malicious manipulation of party death, berserker, and the doom sickle... one of the funniest things I've seen in gaming! Gotta love speedrun ingenuity ^_^
I wish they'd let the ending credits play. To Far Away Times is such a great song.
I JUST RELEASED THAT FROG FLEXES HIS ARM WHEN HE WINS I ALWAYS THOUGHT HE HELD OUT A JEM OR SOMETHING
Amazing run Puwexil, also one of the best couch commentaries ever on a gdq :D
Most hype for a gdq run ever! Amazing
