That is really nice and of course it’s affordable, I’ve got a couple of Steeldives that are super watches my only beef with them was those horrid rubber straps with the huge buckle that are not ideal for normal day to day use. Enjoyed the unboxing, thanks.

Im feeling ya 💯 regarding paying so much for an actual vintage Seiko icon and not knowing what condition the thing is actually in... When one could spend 150.00 USD and get a brand new, fully functional & properly aligned SD with a Seiko mvmt. That is no choice at all, Seiko is no longer the watch of the ppl unfortunately. Hi buddy! Which one would you pick as your first automatic watch and your daily watch, the SD1970 or this one? Why? Daily, I would switch from the rubber to the steel strap, all depending on my outfit. I'm pretty active, and I want my watch to move with me; comfortability is a big thing for me. Btw I have a 17cm width wrist, so I wouldn't want a watch to look too big on my skinny wrist... Have a good one!
You cannot go wrong with the SD1970 on a waffle strap (in keeping with the look of Capt. Willard in the film). The factory waffle strap is surprisingly comfortable, I've been wearing mine in the Midwest, super humid summer and been very pleased. U fortunately, once you crack the door, you might develope a whole sub-collection of Steeldives (just ordered the SD1979 Squale & SD1933 Datejust, this 62mas is next). It becomes an addiction, but at such affordable prices 🤷🏼 Not hurting anyone
Just sent back 2 steeldive bronze sumos as the dials were both misaligned, I even said on my order to check watch over for Q.C before posting, this was from mathew from steeldive uk, his reply was if it's not up to your standards send it back, I got refund of the watch but he never paid back my postage costs that he promised, I can understand if this happened once but twice takes the piss.

I bought this on friday, it arrived Saturday Morning, it’s worth shopping locally for the convenience and service.
I was thinking of buying the SD 1970 , now I think I might go for this one instead

The supplied strap is fine, but i have now put it on a waffle & it looks great.

Love this, but the 15.6 height is MASSIVE. Just about placed my order but realized it's just too tall. Perfect otherwise😕
