Sevdaliza knows how to put emotions that have no names into words and images, she's a real gift, isn't she? The formula is unsettling yet beautiful, reminds me of a dream that can't be remembered but is leaving a lasting impression and sometimes the feelings from that dream come back.
Also, lucky that it was shot in my country, beautiful scenery!

I haven't seen this video and maybe I needed to see this now at this time in my life. I lost 6 babies 2 that I had to birth and one that almost killed me, the rest early on. The pain you feel inside is palpable. You hide it because no matter how much you put on a face for everyone you are dieing inside. You can hardly breath. The life is sucked out of you and all you are is a husk of the self you once were. Forever changed. And life moves on people tell you, or think you should move on too but to lose a child growing inside you breaks your soul. Thank you for this, it lets people see us if even for a moment. I have literally just discovered Sevdaliza in this past hour thanks to UA-cam!!! Part of me cannot believe that with her talent why is she not recognised as a global superstar like Lady Gaga or Beyoncé? Yet another part of me thinks that is a good thing... we're in the exclusive Sevdaliza club let's keep it hush hush!!

She has way more talent then lady gaga or Beyoncé, what she brings is intellectual, most people can't comprehend.
I myself sometimes have a hard time with it.
In Russia we know her, especially Alibi.
Okay so my personal theory on what this short film is about it is about a woman who explores the depths of her being (hence wading deeper into the water) she goes to far and begins to question everything which often happens with inner work. She realizes that she is not who she used to be anymore a part of her is missing and it startles her. Then later on she feels empty like she has lost her identity (possibly she suffers a depersonalization episode in the scene where she is asking “where is she” she is looking for herself not for her lost child, maybe her lost child self). Then again at the scene when she is talking to her partner about her painting and he is asking her if it is done (her inner work) she says it has just begun. The empty canvas could be a representation of her inner self, this is backed up when he compares her to an empty sky she is still in search of herself, she must create (or paint) herself into who she wants to be in the present moment. Which is why she doesn’t like it when her partner says that he would paint the canvas for her without really putting much thought into, which can be compared to the idea that those around you try to create you into what they believe you should be in the hopes of filling the emptiness inside. And then in the end she becomes filled with pain and it is all she is and then she kills herself.
I could be wrong, but I’m in a mini essay writing mood today.

I’ve been deleting old comments and I came to this one. I converted to Christianity in 2023, so I think it would be helpful to add to a comment I made while lost because this film exposes something deep and painful that I want to speak on.
To add to my previous comment. Any belief outside of Christ leads to this on a spiritual level.
Her partner is more or less an antagonist within the film. His role is to distract and to guide her further away from what she lost.
She loses her mind. Goes mad and Jill’s herself. This is what happens on the spiritual level to non-believers. I know when I was a non-believer I would write poetry which I thought was empowering at the time. Looking back I can see how cruel the devil is. To express those things and think it’s empowering when in reality I was doing this.
This is the formula for destruction. This is the formula for confusion and chaos. A story that has been told in a thousand ways through thousands, millions of people.
I pray Sevdaliza is freed from the spirits that have guided her this far. And is guided back to the truth and peace and rest in Christ Jesus. In Him one can find restoration and peace.

I may be wrong, but I believe in the scene at the lake in the beginning, she miscarries. She then wakes up in the night and looks for her unborn child. She goes to dig up where they buried her. She’s depressed the entire film because of it.

It’s really sucks when you just can’t explain how you feel in words. You seek excuses, replacements to something that as everyone talks to you everyone has a right on, but still refuses in it to you. It’s as unfair as it is a true. We connect only with those things we can understand. Otherwise we either destroy it or ignore it. Its only three doors out: white, black or red. White is letting yourself think that those thoughts are inappropriate, you should be fixed. Become perfect. Black is to destroy disagreeing, make them feel like they should be fixed. Pay them back or even more if your pain is enough. Red we just saw. All the doors are always available.
I believe you need to enter all doors of each color once to know which is right for you. After it's acknowledged you can stick to it or go on an adventurous discovery to new colors of doors. Much love to you Kristina.
