Hey guys, thanks for stopping by. I have no idea what's going on in the interview because I don't speak Farsi! Hope you love it.
Here is a rough translation anyone correct me if I’m wrong!
Starting at 1:39
S: born in tehran iran and I was 4 years old when I moved with my mom to holland and grew up there and went to university and studied
Male interviewer: what did you study?
S: communication science
Woman interviewer: again something that is unrelated (basically saying that the degree doesn’t match with her becoming musician)
Male interviewer: what is the translation?
(three of them talking about what the Farsi translation would be for communication science)
Starting again at 2:17
Male interviewer: anyways it’s an unrelated to music
S: no it’s unrelated to music but I always really liked songs and singing. I loved music but I never thought that I could become a musician
Male interviewer: why?
S: around me there wasn’t anyone who was a musician
Male interview: no family members
S: no
Male interviewer: is it just you and your mom, do you have a sister or brother?
S: right now I have a little brother
Male interviewer: really, and how little?
S: right now he’s 20 years old
Male interviewer: well he’s not so little
S: he’s always little to me
Male interviewer: and he’s not into music?
S: he’s into fashion and wants to be a designer
Male interviewer: well you’re not far off from a designer yourself
Female interview: you have your own style
S: yes

S: at the time I felt like..in my life…there was something inside of me that I felt like I had to do something in the arts
Woman Interviewer: a talent
S: a talent. And I found out that music would be that talent, I was 25
Woman Interviewer: you started just at 25 in music?
S: yes I just started music at 25 and I never made music and at that time I thought ok it was now or never. And then I did it. In music I started…
Male interview: you started producing?
S: I started doing computer production, yes learning about doing computer production
Male interview: okay
S: studying it and computer production. Then after 2-3 years I started having my own style in this work. And I learned at the time the feeling I had inside I never experienced in other things I did. And I learned that time that okay this is what I should be doing
male interviewer: you like music
S: yes

Male interviewer (hard to translate, but something along the lines of ): when you put out this first bodies of work how did you get approval of this, how did you know/discover this is what you want to do?
S: I started putting my music out there on the internet and I felt like while I was making music, I never studied music but the feeling
Woman Interviewer: with your feelings
S: yes, with my feelings I could do it (sorry hard to translate this part)
S: and when I would put out my music, I felt like what people were feeling when I was making the music they had the same feelings as I did. They would send me messages and mail. It was so emotionally intense that I realized maybe the way I felt… the feeling I get when I listen to the music of googoosh (an old time famous Persian singer) and I could be that person for somebody else
Male interview: just like how you would feel listening to googoosh you could be that person for your audience
S: I never focused on becoming famous..
Male interviewer: you never wanted to be a famous
S: no, never
Male interviewer: you wanted to do something that made you feel calm and happiness?
S: yes and then alongside came becoming famous slowly. I’m not that famous where I can’t walk anywhere. But this is my choice, I don’t like the focus on that side of the business
Male interview: because if you want the focus on if everyone likes you and being famous it steers you away from your talent/the art
S: yes
Male interview: the work that you do from your heart, you’re not able to do and then you start pushing yourself to do stuff for the approval of others and not what you want
S: yes, yes
Male interview: okay that’s very good
