The whole “Toxicity” Album has no bad song by far the best selling of all albums of them from start with “Prison Song” to the end with “Aerials” this album can play from start to finish and every song hits home to me.
I'm going to date myself, but we had the whole Toxicity album uploaded to our xbox and it was great as background music while playing Tony Hawk proskater 2 or 3 😆
I remember back then there was no spotify or youtube. When this came out, we had to literally drive to a music store, go to those players withhadphones and have a prelisten before we bought. Prison song. DAM. DAM DAM DAM DAM. "They're trying to build a prison". DAM. DA DA DA DAM. I smiled. And bought it. Drove 20km in Germany from my small town to the next city to prelisten and buy, put it on the CD player in my car on the way back, and I freaking loved it. Love them still. What a band.

The song's title is "suicide" but they had to "chop" it to "suey" to get the song on the album. thus chop suey. You can see them making fun of their own name for the song when they sing the lyrics "Cry" and everyone on screen is crying while eating chop suey
@@bobbysayer5801 not this video, it sounds like he cut ahead but if you listen to the actual song you'll hear the the drummer doing the count with the sticks and that's when you will hear "we're rolling suicide"
For the last lyric their producer Rick Rubin took them to his library and told the band to pick a random book. It was the Bible. They flipped to a random page and it was Jesus speaking on the cross. it fit perfectly with the song.

Some of their best singing songs gotta be: Aerials Lost in Hollywood Holy Mountain Lonely Day Dreaming (for some CRAZY crazy harmonies) They got a hell of a catalog that I'm sure people will mention in the comments, but that'd probably my top 5 favorite songs when judging solely the singing (in no particular order)

Original song title was ‘Suicide’. Even back then the record big wigs weren’t comfortable w that-they ‘chopped’ the title and told them to come up w something else. Chop (chopped) Suey (their way of still working in the original title).

Their first album (self-titled) is by far my favorite. As far as clean vocals, "Spiders" is about the best you'll ever hear, in my opinion. Other great songs on that CD that mix up the clean and dirty vocals are "Suite-Pee" and "Darts". Those three are my favorite songs from SOAD.
I love Serj….but in my opinion, Rob Halford has the most amazing range when it comes to Rock and or Metal singers…just my honest opinion and observation!!

"Toxicity" and "Hypnotize" are both great songs if you want to hear some singing. The lead singer of SoaD is probably my favorite vocalist of all time so I highly recommend those tracks. Love the reaction my guy!
I trained my self to play drums to this band. Played in 2 bands my self. As well they are a fantastic group. They broke up because of payment and creative differences. They recently came back together to put out an album for things going on in their home country. A lot of their songs are about the establishment, government, etc. Their songs are truly unique. You have to listen to more songs to really get a feel for their talent and ability. Their songs came out when bush was in office, but agreeing with another comment, listen to arials, toxicity (one of my favorites to play), hypnotize is also a good one. If you want to get into one of their more trippy songs, sugar is a good one.
Been listening to them for a decade and heard Chop Suey thousands of times….the bridge STILL gives me goosebumps. The lyrics, the delivery, the emotion. Perfection. My recommendation: Sugar. Or BYOB. Or radio/video. All great.

SOAD is one of those bands when you are at a large concert and they play there songs between bands. The WHOLE concert sings. its a magical thing. when you hit that status you know your a special band. There not the only ones but.. yeah
Seeing this reaction reminded me of seeing them in concert aound the time the first album came out at Irving Plaza in NYC. It was a crazy awesome night. Only cost like $10 and some other bands played as well but SOAD stood out amonst them. My friend got a few bass picks from the guitarist who for whatever reason was playing naked lol.
Every song from them is a rollercoaster ride. Up with the melody, down with the hammer. Up and down and up and down. Others have tried and failed but for them, it works
The title of this song was supposed to be "Suicide" but the label was like "No way, absolutely not, wtf are you smoking we can't call this song Suicide" so they "chopped" the word suicide in half and called it "Chop Suey".

I never get tired of watching people react to this song, or to SOAD in general, as someone who was 19 when this video dropped and couldn't get the _Toxicity_ album out of my cd player for years... glad you dug it! I experience it over again as if for the first time... It's really hard to pick songs out of their catalogue to recommend, as they're all so incredible - and they only have 4 albums, with the last being a double album, so I tell everyone to do a deep dive. Singing with these guys in my car has been one of the greatest escapes of my horrible life. Mesmerize/Hypnotize is 75 minutes and 46 seconds of pure joy. I love that I can pick either part to sing too. Sometimes you want to be Daron; Sometimes Serj. One of the most unique things SOAD does is those elongated harmonized notes. Guitarist Daron Malakian, who wrote it with lead singer Serj Tankian, explained: "The song is about how when people die, they will be regarded differently depending on the way they pass. My husband and I have been listening to system of a down for over twenty years. After I had my daughter who's 19, I would play System Of A Down music videos while she was in her swing, and I cleaned house. She is just like my husband with a mass music vocabulary. ❤❤
Never thought I'd live in the day and age where there are more people who's never heard of rock/metal songs. I thought I was a bit slow or late to start listening to the rock/metal songs and that was literally 20 years ago. And I still have those songs in my playlist today.
Serj Tankian is the Singer you Enjoy. He is a professional Operatic Singer (which is his Passion) and he left SOAD for "Differences" and to follow his passion. He has a song with Techn9ne called Straight out the Gate that Is Amazing (if your a Tech Fan) . As Others have said this Music was Incredibly Influential and Still hits home even Today.
The sheer joy of getting to see someone 1st hear awesome as phoque musicians. You know when you wish you could get that feeling you felt when 1st hearing an amazing song or seeing a movie that wows you.. seeing someone else get excited & wowed at something you love is like.. 2nd hand 1st time yay! Haha 😊
As others here have already said, they're all bangers. The ones I love the most are the ones that deal with societal injustices in their lyrics. Prison Song and Toxicity are the two that stand out the most to me, but they've also got a ton of songs that are less lyrically direct that still kill it in wholly different ways. My personal faves besides Chop Suey: Prison Song Toxicity Aerials
You know... I was today years old when I realized the reason they named this song "Chop Suey" was because they literally - if I remember correctly - threw random lyrics together to make this song including flipping to random pages in books to do so, much like Chop Suey is a dish made from random leftover chopped vegetables and meat.

My husband and I have been listening to system of a down for over twenty years. After I had my daughter who's 19, I would play System Of A Down music videos while she was in her swing, and I cleaned house. She is just like my husband with a mass music vocabulary. ❤❤
Soldier Side its the song that they most sing clean and high, you probably will like so much
Dude, I LOVE seeing people experiencing SOAD for the first time. It fills me with such joy. You were FEELING it. Keep going down the rabbit hole, man.
System of a Down - Aerials
&
System of a Down - Lonely Day
They are both AMAZING songs!
I was 4 years old when I began singing this song 😂 my mom was slightly worried buy I was JAMMING to this song
Never thought I'd live in the day and age where there are more people who's never heard of rock/metal songs. I thought I was a bit slow or late to start listening to the rock/metal songs and that was literally 20 years ago. And I still have those songs in my playlist today.
"soldier's side" is the intro piece to "BYOB", *it really helps you to understand the song
That System of a Down stank face that people get is universal and it never goes away even after you’ve heard it 3000 times
Seeing these guys live is basically a spiritual experience. There is no band quite like SOAD
The one bit " See now, I gotta go back..".. >:,D how many times in my life I had to do the same damn thing xD
Haha 😊
There's no song i dont like on all their albums. They're special 🎉❤🎉❤
There is not one bad SOAD song. Revenga and tentative are some of my favorites. Revenga has some sick harmonies in it
💯
Man your reaction was amazing. Keep at it and we wanna see more of you!
Every single track on Hypnotize. Whole album is a journey.
As others here have already said, they're all bangers. The ones I love the most are the ones that deal with societal injustices in their lyrics. Prison Song and Toxicity are the two that stand out the most to me, but they've also got a ton of songs that are less lyrically direct that still kill it in wholly different ways.
My personal faves besides Chop Suey:
Prison Song
Toxicity
Aerials
Arials, B.Y.O.B, Question, and Hypnotize. Some of my favorites.
You know... I was today years old when I realized the reason they named this song "Chop Suey" was because they literally - if I remember correctly - threw random lyrics together to make this song including flipping to random pages in books to do so, much like Chop Suey is a dish made from random leftover chopped vegetables and meat.
And that my brother is how all of their songs are, absolute perfection
Welcome to the family, we love having you!
Spy from latam and I must admit that they were good times in music uff grateful to be of that time to my 34 years I had the luxury of listening to this type of music from
I got bullied in high school back in the early 2000’s for loving this music. Now all those bullies have kids that love this music!! ❤ Funny how these things work out 😂
"Yo, send me some more of these songs.." that DOES Mamma De Mia! :P
lost in Hollywood, question, hypnotize
Omg I've watched HUNDREDS of reactions, you VIBING is the best thing I have seen in a LONG TIME ❤❤
