I used coconut in a syringe. But I used too much and my cat shook her ears very hard. It took care of the mites and her ears were very clean. However she had a lot of oil on her fur and during the initial hard ear shaking she got a huge hematoma in her ear. Had to take her to the emergency animal clinic on labor day and it cost me $1200. Included a blood test. Now her beautiful ear is bent. Our get offered to do reconstructive surgery. This is insane!!!!

I bought a bottle of Pet Armor mite treatment drops because the price dropped to $1.50 a bottle. I used this for a few weeks and it greatly reduced the mites. My cat would shake his head and clumps would come flying out. But it wasn’t getting 100% of the “ coffee grounds” out. Q tips didn’t help much. So I put my cat in the shower (with a glass door closure and a hand sprayer). I gave him a shower with warm water and baby shampoo. I kept spraying in his ears. It was a gentle water pressure and he kept shaking his head and crying but after I turned off the water, there was no signs of mites. His ears were super clean and a cute pink inside. I towel dried him and let him lay in the sun to groom himself. He looks so clean and happy! I will keep giving him the drops to help prevent more mites.

You can warm the oil so that it is liquid and then put a few drops in you cats ears. You can then clean gently using a cotton ball to get the excess dirt and wax out of the outter ear (do not go in too far). Then you can massage your cats ears to get the oil to spread throughout the ear (your cat will like this). Then leave it and start again the next day as needed.

    • @Zumalka-Natural-Pet-Care
      @Zumalka-Natural-Pet-Care  2 місяці тому

You do not need to wash off the DE after 24 hours. The powder works by dehydrating and killing the mites, and leaving it in the ear allows it to continue its action. Apply the DE once every three days.

    Hard pass on your advice.
Garlic is considered to be about five times as toxic as onions for cats and dogs.
Onions, garlic, chives, and leeks are in the Allium family, and are poisonous to both dogs and cats.
ingesting garlic may result in the destruction of a cat's red blood cells, a deadly condition known as hemolytic anemia. In severe cases, even a small amount of garlic (approximately one clove or 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder) can lead to organ damage, organ failure, or death in a cat.

I have a question and concern, hopefully someone can help me with.
I have 2 stray kittens around 8 weeks old.
One has so much infection coming out of it's little eyes and nose! So bad that it could only breathe through it's little mouth! And at first it couldn't see at all, because of the dried, thick infection covering it's eyes!
    😔💔
I've started it on Amoxicillin and benadryl. And I can already see improvements after just 3 days!
Also, someone told me that baby oil is good to "smother out" ear mites, and kill them.
I've used it twice now, since last night.
But my question and concern is, ..
Is baby oil safe to use for kittens with ear mites?
I've not really found much information about it.
If it's not safe to use in their ears, do I need to remove it somehow?
I'm going to start using one of the suggested home remedies from this video. But I'm now concerned about the baby oil I've used. 😔
This video is more valuable than I can express!!
Thank you so much for all this valuable information!!

I have several stray cats outside that i feed. What is the option for those cats? I cant pick them up since they are not tame.

That is for sure more tricky. Sadly I don't have any home tips that do not require at least some kind of contact with the cat.

That is great news, I am happy the product worked for you. It's a product that includes Pyrethrins, very good for mites!
