My cousin had the surgery and wasn't able to eat baked beans, of all things! lol But the surgery was a huge help for her. She recently had knee replacement surgery, and she's doing even better now. Your menu was far more than I expected. Does a dietician work with you to get started? No matter what, thank you so much for sharing your journey!
Hi there! I am actually working with the dietitian that is in my surgeon's office and in addition have consults with another one. The dietitian with my program is so busy and is booked out for months. I felt like I needed someone more frequently, and found a dietitian that not only specializes in bariatrics but it a weight loss surgery patient herself! It has been awesome to hear from someone who is not only and expert by has personal experience.
Hi Kaki! Thanks for sharing. I am curious about two things. One, I had heard that most people are able to stop taking their GERD medications. Have you tried to cut back on them ? Also, how long do you have to count your macros etc ? Honestly I'm not even sure what those are. LOL
Hi there! My doctor's directions were to take to omeprazole for 6 mos postop. I will try to discontinue then and see how it goes. I did not have GERD previously and still don't, so hopefully I can. Counting macros is forever just to make sure you get your protein in. Macros are protein, carbohydrates and fats. My doctor recommends no more than 50 mg of carbs from non-starchy vegetables and a minimum of 60-80 grams proteins.
More great recipes and ideas! Thank you.
Thank you!
Do I see a hint of dimples showing up?? Very sweet!!❤
Thank you 🙂
