Hi Kaki! I am two weeks post op VSG surgery and I am so THANKFUL for your videos! You have done such a fabulous job documenting your journey and it is going to be so helpful to to everyone who has has WLS. You are Awesome! Thank you so much again!
Hi Kaki! I am now 2 weeks post o from my gastric bypass. I have my 2 week follow up this Thursday. I am excited to start the purée stage in a few days😊. Thank you so much for your videos. I love your channel ❤😊
I watch you every week but since I had my surgery on Jan 19th I'm going back and rewatching these. Thank you so much for making these videos! Everything resonates so much for me now and boy I understand your excitement about soft foods. LOL!
You are doing great!! I am 6 years out, and still can't drink and eat at the same time, makes me sick to my stomach. I also still eat soft foods 75% of the time. It just feels better. I get one meal a day with a solid meat, the rest is cheese, eggs, oatmeal. And I can only eat 4-6 oz at a time, usually 4. Trust the process for sure!! You just find your own groove, and it works!
Thank you for your comment, Angela. I'm sure that Kaki really appreciates it. Kaki is my wife and she has always astounded me by accomplishing every goal she has set for herself. I also think she is doing great and am very proud of her as always I have been.
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 they really have been! I’ve binged all of them. I have surgery October 30th and I’m 5’1 and have the bypass. I’m so nervous but excited ! I am looking just for someone to talk to about the whole ordeal, don’t have much support at home but I know I need to do this for me. I’m 44 years old and I currently weight 262.
I get it completely! I made the almost exact same comment in my post op video! You just want to get the surgery part behind you and start your new life!
Congratulations on your progress. I always look forward to your videos. Just curious, how is your energy level? Have you started your vitamins yet and did you have to buy the leg compression equipment? Another thing, my surgery date is two weeks away and I still have no idea what my out-of-pocket will be. I just know that my insurance covers 90% so I’m not sure how the hospital will work out the rest with me. Does anybody have any information on financial aspect of having bariatric surgery? Thanks for the video and I’m sorry for asking so many questions😊 I had my pre-op appt with my doctor yesterday and he approves the IV infusions 😊which is great but the dietician does not recommend the vitamin patches I was excited to try🙁
Thank you!! Ask away! The week after surgery my energy level was almost normal. By the time my work day was over I was ready to go to bed, but overall good. This week, post-op week two, it is a little less. I do get tired during the day, but still able to keep up. I did start vitamins. I am taking the Pro Care one a day with 45 mg of iron and they are sitting well on my stomach. I started them about 4-5 days post op when I felt like I could swallow enough water to get them down. I did order calcium patches before surgery and am using them instead of the chews three times daily. I got some samples of the chews and actually tolerated them and liked the taste of some, so after the one mo supply of the calcium patches is gone I will do them instead. I am leery of doing the patches for the multivitamin simply because I have read some other's experience in getting really low on nutrients while using them. But to me the bottom line is if that is what you can tolerate, go for it! As for the financials, the hospital should give you some info up front about how they expect you to pay your part. The total cost at my hospital and with my surgeon is around $25,000 for the bypass so 10% would be about $2500, but also if you have a max out of pocket with you insurance that is less that would lower it. When I checked in at the hospital for pre-op they asked for my part, which was about $1900. I paid it that day as I had saved for it and could, but the lady at the desk told me I did not have to and they would bill me after. I am sure every place is different! Good luck and I know you will do great! Feel free to ask any other questions.

great weight loss! I am five weeks post-op and down 26 lbs since pre-op, very little weight loss over the last four weeks which I am told is common
That is a great loss! Congratulations!!
Were you driving by this one? 6:30
I had surgery on a Wed and went back to work on the following Monday. I drove myself to work that morning.
Very enjoyable videos!! ❤ I’m so excited for my surgery…which sounds so strange but I can’t wait to be in the other side of it.

My transition is going slowly. I'm on soft/pureed but still learning to eat slowly and still amazed that an hour later and I've only eaten 2 ounces.
