You are welcome! I thought the same thing when I was pre-op! I wanted to see how someone mature did. I am 50, and my only regret is not doing it sooner.
Hi Kaki. I just had my surgery four days ago, I’m still on the liquid diet but i developed a headache and a cough, I’m also a bit dizzy or light headed each time i stand up. Don’t know why it is so. But i am able to drink the liquids and proteins well. Your sharing encourages me to know what is happening to you who hadls fone it before me.
I just had my bypass on 12/15/22 down 12 pound one week post op…. I can definitely drink warm liquids much better then cold…. I have to sip cold liquids I feel it going down with air it mama make my stomach gurgle. I’m excited for the process thanks for sharing 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Hi how are you? I was born and raised in Alabama so I have a very hard Southern accent. Where are you from? You have a beautiful heart and personality so Im able to watch your vids to learn. Im in line for gastric bypass asap so Im learning all that I can. I wanted to thank you for sharing your journey. God bless you. Im 51. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Hello again I’m really glad to hear that you were doing so well. I just received a phone call about an hour ago advising me that I have officially been approved for my surgery. I’m excited but conflicted at the same time because they asked me if I wanted the surgeon to use a magnet. I’ll be talking to my surgeon more about that next Wednesday, but does anyone have any idea what the magnet is? I was told that it would minimize the number of incisions to three rather than five or six, but what is the purpose?
Hi there! I had never heard of that, but I found this website that explained it: www.magneticsurgery.com. It sounds like the magnet reduces the number of tools that hey to use by assisting in lifting your liver out of the way. As long as the process of the actual gastric bypass is the same, it sounds reasonable to me but you need to go with what you're comfortable with. I am sure your surgeon could answer any concerns. I would definitely do some research and be ready with questions! Congrats on the approval!!
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 thank you so much and thank you for sharing the link. I honestly don’t like having something new to me sprung on me when I’m already slightly nervous. My coordinator did mention that it cuts down healing time but I’m not interested in rushing the process. I’ll research it and let you know what my doctor and I decides
Hi there! I did not, but in my experience this varies from person to person. Congrats on your surgery! I know the hunger thing is scary, especially so early on, but it will be so worth it!
@@kakisrnyjourney5376 after I’d written the comment you actually said I. The film you didn’t feel hungry! I’m viewing these first weeks as giving myself medicine. I also wanted to thank you for telling us about Dr P, he is marvellous. I wish he was my doc.
I have had very little protein this week- it has made me nauseous. I don't want to take any chances on vomiting and dehydration. When I start soft foods next week, protein will be basically all I am eating so that will definitely be the focus after this week! My team advised me to worry utmost about fluids during this time, but every plan is different 🙂
I am 4 weeks PO and it is so good to see someone not 20 who has had RNY. Thank you for your videos!

Not sure if you will see this Kaki but did you feel hungry that first week? I’m 5 days out and I’m really hungry. Not head hunger at all.

I've gone from sugar addict to sugar avoider and back and back again, you can get these effects without surgery by cutting out the sugar.
Good for you- congrats!
I'm 1 week today!!! Ended up with Seroma on incision by belly button
Is everything else going ok? Congrats on your surgery!
