This song was actually about an incident Ronnie had in a bar that pretty much went down like the song says. The only part not chronicled is the other band members laughing their asses off as Ronnie came running out of the bar.
It’s a true story. I just did a “Skynyrd tour” with Ronnie Van Zant’s best friend, Gene Odom who was also the band’s security manager. He was a plane crash survivor that killed Ronnie, Steve and his sister, Cassie. We met across the road from The Jug, which was called West Tavern at the time this happened. They renamed the bar The Jug. There was a store The Little Brown Jug and Ronnie just thought the Jug sounded better. I enjoyed your reaction.
Lol 😂 I just saw this video. I’ve been a Skynyrd fan pretty much my whole life and this has always been my favorite song of theirs, if I had to pick one. The song came out in 1973, by the way. And it’s based on a true story. The singer was flirting with another guy’s girlfriend in a bar and the dude pulled a gun on him. The story goes that the singer told the guy something like “if you’re gonna shoot me, you’re gonna have to hit me in the a$$ or the elbows cuz I’m outta here!” 😂
I just came across your video, it reminds me of the music of my youth I am an old Baptist preacher now and my journey is almost over. But I still enjoy this type of music. May God bless you. You have brought a smile to an old mans face today.
A lot of people talk about and suggest 'Freebird'. DON'T DO IT! NOT YET! Not knowing any of their other great stuff, it will ruin the experience. Save it until you've had the chance to hear at least, a dozen other tunes from them. Then, take off in that flight. This is one of the all-time greats and that was always the show finale. Approach your journey through here the same way. You're welcome, in advance. 😉😎
Hello Beautiful Queen Simply I was listening to the lyrics with you yeah it was a little crazy sounds like he was ready to run after those three steps 😂 cool reaction video 🌹
This really happen to the lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and the place was called little brown Jug he didn’t know she had a boyfriend and just danced with her .
Anne Murray sings a song… a little good news… please please react to this ! We as Americans need to all hear this! It’s a great old song! Thank you ❤️Tennessee
Hi Ms. S., Everyone knows "Free Bird" is great, I think U should review "Tuesday's Gone" and "(They) Call Me The Breeze", which is one of the best driving songs ever.. ♠W.G.
Having grown up in Alabama, I grew up on LS most all my life. I absolutely loved watching you respond to this song! Don't know if anyone has suggested it yet, but I think you'll really enjoy Tuesday's Gone. That's one of my all time favorites of theirs.
Thats why i follow you always, your reactions makes me feel really happy, because your reactions are for real, honest , funny, humble and you put some reaction faces that are one in a million, never change.. 70 music are always great, keep it rolling girl.
Their years of Fame was from 1970-1977 in which the singer Ronnie Van zant, guitarist and his sister backup vocals Chris and Cassie Gaines and the manger died in a plane crash they regrouped in 1987 with Johnny Van zant on vocals with the remaining members. Now there are to my knowledge 4 remaining members left Gary Rossington, Ed King, Artimus Pyle, and Rick Medlock. Gary and Ricky are in the band now. And when the formed the band when they where in high school, their pe coach said they would never amount to anything so they named the band after him. His name was Leonard Skinner
You need to listen to the start of the song. I was cutting the rug, down at a place called the Jug, with a girl named Linda Lou. So he was only dancing with a girl he just met. I’m 63 I started listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1974, I was in 10th grade in high school, more great songs on the first album. “Simple Man”.”Tuesday’s Gone”, “Freebird”
I know that you are not familiar with LYNYRD SKYNARD yet! But, like many other singers and bands, you need to go down THAT rabbit hole. I HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME SUBSCRIBER OF YOURS AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR REVIEWS. IN FACT OUR TASTE IN MUSIC RUNS ALONG THE SAME LINES. I AM 63 AND I LIVED THROUGH ELVIS, LYNRD SKYNYRD, AND SO MANY MORE. TRUST ME, YOU NEED TO REVIEW "MR. BANKER", " FREEBIRD", AND "SIMPLE MAN". THESE ARE ONLY A SMALL BEGINNING FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND THEIR IMMENSE TALENT. THEY ARE TYPICAL OF SOUTHERN ROCK DURING THE 70'S. I AM SURE THAT YOU KNOW MOST OF THE BAND EXCEPT FOR MAYBE 1, POSSIBLY 2, WERE KILLED IN A HORRIBLE PLANE CRASH VERY EARLY IN THEIR CAREER. THEY WERE UNIQUE, THEY WERE AWESOME, THEY WROTE ALL OF THEIR OWN MATERIAL, AND THEY WERE VERY TALENTED! GONE WAY TOO SOON!
Off of their debut album "Pronounced" 1973. And is based on something that really happened to Ronnie down at the Brown Jug Tavern in Jacksonville, Florida.
The lyrics to this song is true except they changed the girl's name in the place where they were in the bar I like this song the ballad of Curtis loew and Tuesday's gone
I'm 59 been listening to them for over 40 years all the best from Australia. Sweet home Alabama.

True Story. Ronnie told em I'm walkin' outta here and your either gonna shot me in the ass or shot me in the elbows. And waked out the door.
That was a fun song. Listen to "Freebird" and you'll see how excellent this band is.

This is based on a true story from a band member.
Skynyrd is one of the premier examples of Southern rock. Some other groups to listen to as Southern rock would be ZZ Top and Little Feat.
Linda wasn’t worth it, no woman is worth getting shot over, not even you as beautiful as you are.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another Lynyrd Skynyrd song that deserves a listen is "That Smell." ua-cam.com/video/thXXRkwTOmg/v-deo.html
