    Great video and truly stated. My wife and I were in Atlixco in April with Martha, and only have good things to say. Martha's BnB was the perfect place to stay, and she showed us the in's and out's in and around Atlixco, Puebla, etc. Thank you to Mariana for her Mexico Relocation Guide (wouldn't have tackled the move to MX without it) and Martha as the perfect hostess, friend and Spanish teacher.

    Terrific Video! I have been waiting for a more inclusive video on Atlixco! I was so happy to attend Christmas festivities in this town in 2019 just before the Pandemic... so the place was alive with music, food and a wonderful Christmas light festival. I loved the Winter weather... just chilly enough for a heavy sweater and maybe a scarf... really Perfect!! Food was amazing and people from around the World were seen and heard speaking a wide range of languages. Love the stairs!! :) Thanks for featuring those. This is near where I wish to locate... I have flown into the PBC airport at least a dozen times once I figured out direct flights from Houston, TX happen regularly! Great place!! Thanks for highlighting this place!

    Thank you for this fabulous video to highlight Atlixco! Though I think we would favor a coastal town, this looks like a really awesome option for those 2 or 3 months that a place like Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta could be hot. The flowers are incredible here!
    Safe travels!

    How's the internet speed and reliability? Just a suggestion, that should probably be something to add to each video when talking about costs and amenities.
    There is a quick view of a sign at 10:55 showing 389 pesos for 50 mbps, but is that available in the entire city (hopefully not just the "rich" or expat areas)? How reliable is it? I need to work from home via the internet so this might be a deciding factor in the country and/or city I choose to move to.

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide

      It varies by neighborhoods. You could easily find that info by reaching out to the internet provider in the area you’re looking into. Otherwise, you can test the speed of a place before you rent it by logging into their wifi

    Hi Mariana, I loved your video with Patrick who was living in Atlixco. My husband and I are thinking about moving to either Puebla or Atlixco. We were intrigued when Patrick mentioned that he was going to visit a friend in Jalisco that lived away from the beach but was close enough to it. Do you happen to know the name of the town that he spoke about? If not, is there some way you could please put me in touch with Patrick via email? We are from Minneapolis too! And my husband is also a musician. Thanks so much! Julie

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  Рік тому +2

      There is racism everywhere unfortunately. Puebla is no exception. But Mexico is more of a classist country than a racist country. However, I will say having said all of that, most Mexicans are extremely welcoming and accepting of other cultures.

    Hi Marianna. You said it was cheap to live in but its not cheap to be able to stay in mexico, is it? I'm single so will only have my pension and social security to live on. I'm just below the $2500 needed to get the retirement visa. Is this right?

    • @MexicoRelocationGuide
      @MexicoRelocationGuide  2 роки тому +3

      I never said cheap but rather inexpensive. I don't like to use the word cheap.
      And it's all relative. The rental market in Atlixco starts at around $300 USD a month for a 1 bedroom. That's very inexpensive in my opinion.
      Qualifying for residency will be another issue that isn't related to the cost of living in Mexico.
      The lowest consulate to qualify for residency is in McAllen TX. They require $1700 USD a month net.

    • @davidsebastianelli1326
      @davidsebastianelli1326 2 місяці тому

      You have to Consulate shop. Every Consulate has different financial requirements.It's 2024 when I am replying and I hate to say it but you may have missed the boat if you haven't already gotten your residency visa. In 2022 you could have gotten your visa in McAllen, Texas with a monthly income of $1740us. You can live a very comfortable lifestyle in Mexico for under $1500us. I live about a mile from the beach in a beautiful 1 and 1 with an ocean view patio that also overlooks the city lights at night without skimping on anything, including health insurance, for less than $1200us per month. Don't wait or the time will never seem to be just right! Mucha suerte desde la hermosa Ensenada!
