Always love how you are respectful of all victims even if they are homeless, sex workers, addicts etc and highlight the value and meaning they had whatever their situation ❤
Whilst I'm glad individuals like Martin brag and get caught, their ignorance and arrogance baffles me - normal well-adjusted human beings will speak up when they hear stuff like this!

I had a friend who committed himself because of paranoid/violent thoughts, they kicked him out 6 hours in, he begged to stay. Within 12 hours he murdered his mom because she "wasn't really his mom". He called the police to inform them he had killed a dangerous imposter. Very very sad. He literally begged for help.

That reminds me of the case of Nicola Edgington. She had previously been sectioned for the manslaughter of her mother due to diminished responsibility because of a psychotic breakdown, then years later went on to kill another woman and almost kill a second, after calling 999 and begging them to section her, actually saying to them "the last time I felt like this, I killed my mum". Unfortunately, they didn't bother to check her records, so she was only admitted on a voluntary basis, enabling her to leave and carry out the later attack.

Hi Emma, I have been profoundly absorbed by your videos as of late. I especially love your psychological insights and allocated time catered toward legal and administrative issues/ themes within the cases- as a law student this is tremendously captivating! Cannot get enough of these!
Was wondering if you could publish a video regarding the 2-year-old boy, Bronson Battersby, from Lincolinshire, who recently starved to death after his farther, 60, had died of a heart attack, leaving him trapped within the house and emaciated. The boy was subject to vulnerability assessments by the social services, but for lack of responsibility and duty by the local authorities he was left batching in neglect after concerns had been raised that his farther had not been seen since Christmas. This poignant death was unreservedly avoidable if appropriate provision had been set in stone.
Again, thank you for your crime and consistency!

Thank you so much for the extra content Emma 💜. The thing that stands out for me on this one is why wasn’t he referred to the mental health services by his probation officer. The phone call to emergency services should have, as you pointed out, taken him to a psychiatric hospital. I’m not saying it’s an excuse bit the guy told the authorities that he was likely going to kill someone, they should have taken it more seriously. Great, thought provoking episode. I’m not sure if you’ve covered Peter Tobin, but would love to see your take on him. I’m currently working my way through your back catalogue, love, love, love it. Keep up the fantastic work. X

When I hear about violent abusive men like this I think of my twin brothers 25:13 childhood.
From very early on my father targeted him. He was beaten and humiliated throughout his early life.😢. He wet the bed so my “father” took him to the playground in my dresses. 😡. If anyone should become a horrible adult it should be him. He however is the sweetest kindest soul you’d ever meet. He rescues and cares for animals and makes woven Matt’s for the homeless.
To me it is a choice…. I may be wrong but my beloved brother is proof to ME it’SA choice. 25:13

I am sorry you had to witness your father doing that to your brother, I am always happy to hear when the abused or hurt don't hurt but to be honest most people that were hurt deep enough try to not let anyone else ever feel how they did. Sometiems the person however can just be evil down to the core and the abuse just fuels their fire to want to hurt others.

Another great video thank you very much, I find it truly heartening to come across individuals who share similar views, especially when it comes to caring for the vulnerable and children. It's a refreshing experience to witness someone who genuinely invests time and effort in making a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most. The commitment to championing the well-being of the vulnerable and ensuring the welfare of children reflects a compassionate and empathetic character. In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, finding like-minded individuals dedicated to making a difference is not only inspiring but also reinforces the belief that positive change is achievable. If he had given his victims a “hot shot” of heroin then none of their deaths would have been looked into. It just shows how narcissistic and evil Mark Martin is that he needed to strangle his victims up close and looked into their innocent eyes and murdered them without casting a second thought. Me and my two brothers are adopted, we are not blood siblings. We were all brought up in exactly the same way from approximately the same age, all removed at birth from birth mother. However, my older brother turned out very different to me and my other brother. From an early age he displayed aggression and difficulty managing his emotions. He is now estranged to the family, which is entirely his choice, because we have all worked very hard on our relationships with him, but I do believe in his case there was no amount of nurture that could change his nature. I have adopted two children, both come from criminal family backgrounds, and they are both excelling in life, so in their case it has definitely been nurture.

I'm not sure if you mentioned that he had an Autism diagnosis? Just thinking about his seemingly sensory irritation?! One of my old school friends had an obsession with certain serial killers and ended up being assessed by a forensic unit. She was diagnosed as autistic much later in her 30's. She was saved by her choice to follow another obsession with her talent in creativity.

Hey Emma! I've discovered your channel fairly recently, and just wanted to tell you how much I've been enjoying your content! The quality and depth of your work is amazing, and as someone disabled who spends a lot of time lying in bed, it's been awesome to start binging all of your previous episodes! Thank you for doing the victims such an honor and sharing their stories with us.

It really erks me that no one in authority seem to look into why that person is homeless or a sex worker or what ever circumstance someone is in. the support systems that are in place are a joke at best. x as humans we need to do better.

Totally agree DV perpetrators should be supervised around children. Again I know working alongside CPS, they have different views but at this stage why take the risk! We have a serious issues in my area where it comes to social workers. Constantly leaving positions which isnt good for the children who need stability and building relationships with these children to get to the bottom of the situation. 🙍‍♀️

What a coward he is... he may think hes this powerful man, but the truth is that he couldn't pick on other men. He had to choose homeless women, addicts who couldn't fight back.. hes pathetic. I hope he rots in jail

My thoughts go out to the victims and their families, it’s shameful that Zoe’s family were entitled to no compensation. When you mentioned Emma about violent abusers and the problem of allowing them access to their children it made me think of Jack and Paul Sykes, I think their Mum Claire even warned the authorities that their father would harm or kill them yet she was rendered powerless by the courts and they allowed him unsupervised access to the kids who didn’t even want to see him and he ended up killing them. Just wondering if you would maybe cover that case. Thanks.

In my time as a social worker I've worked with homeless people and its not super unusual that people have homes, but they're in such a state psychologically that they don't live there. It's not "cosplaying homelessness". Sure, he had sick motives, but homeless people that tecnically have homes or the means for a home, and that, for a myriad of reasons, can't live there, exist

Love your vids Emma but got to say there are many people without houses, not a “community”, when I was homeless I wasn’t part of a community, I wanted and needed a home.

It's a mark of how out of touch with society Mark was that he thought three young women in the homeless community weren't going to be noticed.

Those poor children, those innocent people caught in the collateral carnage from a serial killer and the State wouldn't give them the dignity of a small trust fund unfortunately gives future killers a permission base to view vulnerable people/homeless people/sex workers/runaways/people with learning disabilities to be seen as "less than dead".
I really hope her children find peace and every accolade available to show how wonderful they are to our society.
