Excellent work. You’re a very good teacher, thanks.
I appreciate that!
Love Featherbear Bling Shelby!
So gorgeous!
Can’t wait to try the mica!
It is so fun! I need to get more clear so I can make some new colors!
Love this!.....purple with micas😍💜😍💜
Purple purple purple!
watching so many tutorial videos! I love this one, so cool and informative! thank you!!
Thanks for watching! Tumblers are a fun "canvas" to work on. Usable art!
I loved watching this. Your smile is beautiful and your directions, coupled with your calm voice, and clear instructions made it easy for me to follow and ready to try it myself.
You are too sweet! Thank you! Have fun!!
These are beautiful!!!!!! I love how easy, yet, thorough your tutorials are; which makes it easy for beginners like myself. I've always wanted to try this method but had no clue where to begin. Thank you very much, you are so appreciated! 💖
You are too kind! I appreciate the feedback so much! Have fun!
OMG! I amazing video! Quick and to the point! You answered all my questions! Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching! Have fun dipping!
They are beautiful! Great job!
Thank you!
They’re all so beauriful❤️
Thank you!
very pretty. I am binging on tumbler videos. Want to start making them myself.
Welcome to the addiction!
Great video. Best one I have seen and I have seen many. Thank you
Thanks a lot! That is awesome!
Omgg, I love the first one you dipped... Beautiful
Thank you! It was so beautiful, I almost couldn't send it out. I really wanted to keep it. :)
I never did hydro dip yet but I so want to try n make some beautiful cups😊
It is really fun because they all come out so different!
So AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL💗
Thank you!
All questions answered. Drying times and sealant issues are crucial to newbies like me. Big fat hug and kisses ❤❤❤. BTW, I have the starter kit and about 10 other colors including 2 clears. Big failure first time out. But now, I will have successes!
Practice and failures are a part of it. Have fun!
I'm new to your channel and I love these!
Thank you! Welcome!
So freak'n cool!!!!
Thanks! So are you!
Bon travail violet.
Et merci bien.
Thank you!
Wonderful how to video. Very easy to follow. You did a great job Angie. Colors I would like to see are Red, Black, and silver.
Thanks! Those would be perfect together! The red is transparent, so doing it over a red, white, or silver painted or glitter base would be perfect. I might try it over a red chunky glitter!
Very beautiful turn outs!...I must say though, I've always been able to go straight to the epoxy immediately after dipping my cups using the oil based paints and never had any problems getting the epoxy to adhere to my paints. Must be something different in the products. I know all things are made differently 🤷♀ but nevertheless your cups are absolutely stunning! Great job! Thanks for sharing🙂
I would say you are one of the lucky ones! I have seen so many fellow crafters post pictures of their fails because they forgot to seal. Do what works for you.
Amazing job ❤️
Thank you!
I love how yours turned out. I tried for the first time today. #EPICFAIL. I used orange with a dark blue base. I assume they can only be used with light colored cups.
THank you. Sorry yours didn't turn out the way you wanted. It is all a learning process. Being able to use them on a dark base depends on the paint colors. Some are pigment based and more opaque. Others are dye based and transparent. Here is the Marabu product information. There is a chart that shows all of the colors and the opaque ones are marked with a dot.
Those can be used over a darker base.
I marked all of my opaque paints on the bottom with a sharpie.

This was an incredibly helpful! Thank you so much! Very detailed! If you seal with MP do you also do three layers?
Yes, I did three with both and they were both fine. The key is to just get a very good coat.
So very pretty! Would love to know which colors are opaque and which ones are transparent.
www.marabucreative-usa.com/our-products/marbling/
Here is the link to the FAQ. The color chart shows some with a dot next to them. Those with the dot are more opaque.
Thanks for this video it was great! Do you think it makes a difference when you seal these if you use a spray polyacrylic vs the paint on stuff?
I have only tried the two water based brush on types. The manufacture lists that only water based brush on should be used so I didn't try any others. I am a rule follower ;) If you use another type that works, let me know!
I know this is an old video, but I was wondering what that beautiful pink glitter color is!
Shelby from Featherbear Bling!
Got the paints and a glitter tumbler ready to go, but I have a question. I lightly sanded my glitter tumbler so that it is nice and smooth. Should I apply a thin coat of epoxy before I dip? I was wondering with the translucent marble paints if my sand marks may show if I didn't add another layer of epoxy (kind of like with water slides) but wasn't sure. Thanks, and those tumblers are beautiful!
I had the same thoughts about the scratches showing through like waterslide! I haven't tried it sanded; on all of mine, I made sure the epoxy was smooth and glossy just to be safe. Have fun dipping!
These are beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing. Where do you get the paint colors? What brand is it?
These are Marabu Easy Marble. You can get them from lots of art supply stores online and in person. Here is there store locator www.marabucreative-usa.com/store-locator/ or you can search for online stores.
Hi! i was wondering if you could do a video on how you marbled your extra large coffee cup that's in the background of your easy marble on stainless tumblers video (the introduction).
and also what is the purpose of sanding the tumblers and is it necessary?
SN...i love your videos!!!
Thanks! Que from Mississippi
The purple and white mug? That mug was done using the same steps as the pink glitter tumbler from this video. It was a stainless mug, base painted white, glittered with white, epoxied, dipped in a few different purples and clear... the rest is the same as the others in the video.
Prepping your cup is very important. Sanding the cup gives your decoration something to grab on to and helps it last longer.
Thanks so much for watching!
Super cool. Is there an alternate idea for the rotator mechanism?
You can hand turn. I don't have the time to do that, so I had my husband build this machine. You can buy smaller ones on Etsy and Amazon as well. Just be sure to read the reviews.
Thanks for the minwax knowledge. I thought my epoxy had gone bad.
Oh man. That is frustrating.
Great video! So why do you only have a minute to get cup dipped? Sorry if I missed that in the video have you done this with spray paints? Are there any differences or benefits to using this product instead. I guess for one you can do it indoors. Thanks
Hi there! You only have about a minute before the paints start to dry and set up. You'll know if its been too long because you wont be able to swirl it. It will all still and gum up. As long as you prepare your paints and tools before pouring, you shouldn't have a problem.
I have dipped with spray paints as well. They give you a different look. I like the Easy Marble better than spray paint because I feel like I have a lot more control and YES I can do it inside.
I am new to this craft and your work is truly amazing!!!! I love all three cups. I am thinking about going into business making tumblers. Is there any advice you can give going in as a new business beginner??? How do you price your cups based on the wonderful time you put into each creation. Just looking for some advice. Be blessed.....looking forward to more awesome videos from you.
Each state is different, so research the laws in your state for selling. I price based on materials and the time it takes plus tax and shipping. Before you start selling, make some for yourself/family/friends and give them away. Make sure they can hold up to regular use and that your techniques are mastered. There is a lot of trial and error in this craft. Have fun and good luck.
If you wanted to add a decal where in the process would you do that?
After the first layer of epoxy.
This might be a silly question but: Do you apply the epoxy twice at One time then let it sit for 2 hours and then take the tape off. Or do you do 1 coat take the tape off after a couple hours let it cure then re tape it and repeat the process?.
Here's my epoxy video that might help answer some of your questions.
ua-cam.com/video/HDJhMsWh3zg/v-deo.html
When I do the epoxy, I apply one coat and remove the tape between 20-60 minutes. Then after 7-12 hours, I will retape and repeat the process.
Greetings, Excellent work. I ask? when do you remove the electrical tape? I am new to this and for the first time I made a tumbler that comes like the one you have but in black. I did not remove the tape, Btw used tape for painting, and when I finished the drying process of the epoxy I began to remove the tape and the epoxy came out with the paint and everything, I had only put a layer of epoxy. What is your recommendation
First, make sure you prep your cup well. Even if it comes in a color, it needs to be sanded and cleaned. Here's how I prep: ua-cam.com/video/LAjpoMDMIUA/v-deo.html
Then, when you are taping off, I use electrical tape but painters tape will work, and I remove it between 15 and 60 mins. You don't want anything to dry or cure with the tape on. Here's another helpful video: ua-cam.com/video/HDJhMsWh3zg/v-deo.html
Hope that helps.
I did mine fir the very first time n omg half of the tumbler turn out awesome n the other half was a disaster paint was clumsy can u help me with this issues I really Lov u cups they turn out awesome great job 👌
Your water may have been too warm, the time from the paint hitting the water to the cup being dipped could have been too long, too much paint, not enough paint... lots of factors. Every once in a while I have to wipe mine off and start again. My problems are usually water temp or time. You can wipe it off with acetone and start over if its not directly over paint.
Thnxs for ur advice
You're welcome. Good luck.
first one was the best
Thank you!
I LOVE IT.....I'm new to this where do you get you #hashtag sticker from
I used my Silhouette Cameo to design the decal and cut it in vinyl.
Love these and I am an artist and want to start to make these as well!! May I ask what do you use and where do you purchase what you use for the rotating of the cups? Thank you so much!!
My husband built mine. You can purchase them on Etsy, from individual sellers, Michaels (not recommended), Hobby Lobby, and Amazon. Or you can build one. Search "Cup Turner," "Cuptisserie," "Cup Spinner" and you should get some results. There are other makers that have videos to show you how to build one. Please read the reviews and ask the seller questions. Some are great and some are terrible.
@@VioletDoodlesBoutique thank you so much!!!!!
Your're welcome. Good luck.
Hi! I'd like to try the Mod Podge method to seal the Marabu paints before epoxy. How many coats should I use and how long to dry in between coats?
I would still do 2 or 3. You want to make sure it is fully coated. You can reapply as soon as it seems dry but let it dry for a few hours before epoxy.
Are there any necessary steps that need to be taken before dipping the tumbler? I’ve watched a few videos on how to make this marble effect and they have all said they had to sand the tumbler then spray paint it. On your video is seems as if you just purchased them and dipped them?!
I explained what I did with each of these in the video. They were all prepped and then designed differently for the tutorial. The pink one was prepped, sprayed white, glittered, epoxied, dipped... The Light blue was prepped, painted white, dipped... The darker one was prepped, painted black, dipped...
Here is how I prep: ua-cam.com/video/LAjpoMDMIUA/v-deo.html
I dipped over a silver glitter, after applying my polycyclic it has like a fog over it! Do u know why? Did I do something wrong
Oh no! Did you shake it? Sometimes it can get microbubbles from shaking the Polycrylic. Always be sure to stir, not shake.
How do you keep a lip firm forming when you use the electrical tape on rims?
It is slightly raised and after epoxy it is tapered and not an issue.
Do you ever get micro bubbles after the dip? I am getting a lot of micro bubbles.
No more than normal.
Hello Miss Kiss Kreation!! How do you use Marabu on a glittered & sealed tumbler? I'm not getting the same results as flat painted tumblers!
My glittered one was epoxied until smooth and then dipped.
Do you let it air dry after dipping? Mine seems to have gotten spots when I just let it air dry.
Yes, I just let it air dry.
Did you spray paint the cups before putting the glitter on ?
Yes
do you have to add the resin over the easy marble?
It depends on what you have marbled. Ornaments, no. Tumblers, yes.
how would you prevent yellowing using polycrylic
Polycrylic doesn't yellow like polyurethane. Epoxy does yellow some. Regardless you will have some yellowing with this craft over time. I haven't noticed anything drastic. You can also use Mod Podge and Marabu just released their own sealer.
Why do you need to seal with polyacrylic if you seal with epoxy?
These paints are oil based and repel epoxy if there isn't something between them.
How many times do you apply epoxy before dipping?
Until it is smooth without sanding. I think I did a thick coat, sanded, then a thin coat.
do you use mica for resin? or what kind of mica?
You can mix mica in resin. The ones from this video were purchased from Mr Nolas Glitter.
I notice that you did not tape the rim for the sealant polycyclic? Why ?
Honestly, I didn't feel like it. I don't always tape things off. If you do, I would suggest electrical tape for a tighter seal.
What is the difference between Marabu alcohol inks and regular alcohol inks?
The only difference that I know if is that Marabu has a glitter ink, but otherwise they are the same. You will find different colors with each brand. I use several brands. This tutorial used Easy Marble paints and not ink, just to clarify. Here are the inks in action: ua-cam.com/video/F8QLbp_TKng/v-deo.html
Can you add the chameleon powders to the clear?
Sure. I have even mixed an ultra fine glitter in some of mine. Try out different materials.
very nice
Thank you!
I wonder what chemicals are in the paint to make it separate from the water?
The paints are oil based.
who did you say you got your Hogg tumblers from
I buy wholesale from the Stainless Depot Company. You can also buy retail from Hogg Outfitters.
Can this water method be done with acrylic paint ?
No but you can use spray paint.
These are gorgeous!!! Can you do some with bright blue, bright green, and bright purple with several colors of glitter showing through? 😍😍😍
That does sound fun!
How does the clear maribu work?
It works just like the colors. It is just clear, so it will still cover the tumbler but show the background through. Or you can mix pigments or micas in to make a completely new color. It is a fun one to have several of so you can play.
Can I seal it with triple thick spray?
I am a rule follower. The manufacturer suggests water-based brush-on. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes.
What's the type of tumbler your using?
Those are from The Stainless Depot Company
I've been having a lot of issues with paint not dispersing in water and clumping instantly. My biggest issue has been with the light blue. Any tips or tricks you'd recommend?
I would make sure your paints are shaken really well and you water temperature is cool, room temp or a little cooler.
@@VioletDoodlesBoutique thanks! I've done this about 5 times now and each time I'm faster. It always clumps whether I swirl or not :( easy marble isn't so easy for me.
Hmmm, I wonder how warm your water is. Are you doing it inside or outside. When I did it outside in the sun, I had less time to work. Is it still just the blue? Maybe that one needs to be replaced. Sorry you're having trouble.
If there’s scratch in tumblers how to fix???
lightly sand all over, wash well with Dawn, re-epoxy
Where do you order your paint from?
Mr Nola's Glitter, Sass and Crafts (Yayas), or Plaza Artist, Amazon... Hobby Lobby has started carrying some. There are lots of places.
where do you purchase the tiny smidge measuring spoons?
I bought those from mrnolasglitter.com. Search Mica spoons. They are awesome.
Ok ...thanks
you're welcome
What would make my Marabu marble paint glob up when I attempt to stir it in the water? Is my water the wrong temperature?
Your water could be too warm. Are you doing it outside? Sun and breeze can also dry it out faster. Make sure you shake well, and move quickly. It happens to me every once in a while.
@@VioletDoodlesBoutique I had the same problem last night, the paint did not really spread out and globbed on the cup. I think the water was too warm but do you know if soft water is a problem to use? Thanks so much!
It could be that the water was too warm, the paints maybe not shaken well, waiting too long to swirl... Lots of factors. I occasionally, have mine clump up. When that happens, I shake them more and add colder water to my bucket. I am not sure if the soft water matters.
@@VioletDoodlesBoutique Thank you for the reply. I will try again!
Where did you buy the tumblers?
I buy mine from The Stainless Depot.
what epoxy do you use
I like Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast
What is the lettering? Is it a sticker?
It is a vinyl decal that I made using my Cameo.
Where can you buy these from?
There is a store locator in the video description for Marabu products and there are lots of online sellers.
Can you use Marabu porcelain to mix with Easy Marble crystal clear to make a color?
I doubt it. They are different formulas. You can mix mica in clear to get other colors but it would be shimmery.
Violet Doodles Boutique OK I understand that but how can you use the Porcelain Marable paints I Purchased them without realizing it’s totally different then the easy marble paint?
Those are used for painting on porcelain. I have some but I haven't tried them yet.
Violet Doodles Boutique Oh thank you so much for the information. Can you let me know if you try them and make a video on it?
If I make a video, it will be posted here. :)
May I ask is it mandatory to tape the rims? Has anyone done it with rims dipped as well?
You can do it either way. You will just need to be sure to seal it well.
