I lived in Granada Hills st this time, about 5 miles away. A friend lived 3 blocks from the bank. I put on the TV while I was working at home and thought it was a heist movie. I soon realized it was the news. I called my friend and warned him. He said he was gathering guns and going to the bank. LAPD were seriously outgunned. It changed what guns regular beat cops had in their trunks. My friend did not get hurt but he sure tried his best! I think the Bank of America still has bullet holes in the stucco. I no longer live in California. I left the nut house.
I was in Burbank at the time, and I had been in that North Hollywood bank a number of times. Lived in the Valley for a long, long time, so I knew it all quite well. That day was one that those of us in the area will never forget.
Yeah, I was living in Van Nuys at the time.
