I’m a woman, and once I was in a club in MA where there was some live music. There was a large presence of bikes, and a few of them were Mongol riders. I ride a Can-Am Spyder. At the end of the evening, I got ready to leave-and I was stopped (as in blocked by several people physically standing in front of my bike) from leaving the parking lot until every single other “biker” left the lot. I exchanged a few words with another woman that basically amounted to me telling her to get her own f*cking license and bike, and stop being a damn backseat b*tch. I eventually got to leave, and approximately 10 miles down the road, wouldn’t you know a large contingency of these asshats got stopped by local police for loud pipes and other infractions. Several of them were pulled over, and the rest were a bit further on, waiting for their crew to rejoin them. As I rode past I beeped and waved, lol. Two of them quickly mounted up presumably to come after me, so I opened her up and quickly lost them in a residential area I knew better than them. Overall, I have no respect for clubs like this. They’re racist, misogynistic, homophobic, and never take into consideration that any other rider on any other style of bike takes the EXACT same risks riding that they do. They’re loud, disruptive, brutish, and generally a nuisance. I say good riddance.

I met Chago at Impact in Pasadena, super cool dude. Impact was a refuge for members to get there stuff together before they went in front of a judge. I remeber hanging with some of those dudes late night and was amazed at how they had each others backs no matter what and not one member was afraid to call someone out if they needed help getting right. I thought there was a brotherhood in that process that I really liked.

This interview was butchered where only the highlights were taken from this. He would’ve never put a 20 minute interview like this one turned out. This has been cut from over 2 hours of raw film. Mooch sincerely cared about his brothers. I was struggling with work and family issues and I came home from work after a 14 hour day. When I opened my garage door he was in my garage picking up take off bike parts and cleaned up my entire garage. He only did this due to him knowing what I was going through, and wanted to help ease my stress. He always helped his brothers any way he could. I didn’t come from the major club, I just helped kick off LTR. Love you mooch, I’ll see you soon.

A couple of years ago, I worked Casino Security. We had a group of Mongols come in and sit at the bar. About 30 minutes later a group of Hell's Angels came in and sat at another bar across the room. We actually had experience with both groups as they would both come in at one time or another to play or drink or whatever, but never at the same time. Both the Hell's Angels and Mongols were actually really chill if you talked to any of them, however we were stressed to the max just waiting for something to pop off. Thankfully both groups just stuck to themselves. We were expecting the opposite.

One thing about the Hells Angels beef with the Mongols. I've heard the bottom rocker story for years but a few years ago I saw a docu series with George Christie. He said that a formal Angel ratted on club members or got some one killed. But basically that guy ran away and joined the Mongols. At the time the Mongols accepted anyone that can ride. When they saw him at an event the traitor hid with the Mongols and a war began. From the way that Mongols still take anyone fairly easily, it's a plausible scenario.

I once interacted with a group of Mongols on my wedding day. My groomsmen took me to a restaurant close to the venue before the ceremony so that I wouldn’t see my bride before then and we we got a table that just happened to be next to a group of Mongols (and their “old ladies”). Since we were all in our nice suits, we certainly stuck out as much as they did and thus caught their attention. So we ended up chatting with them for a bit and they were actually very nice, much to my surprise and relief. I doubt anyone like that could ever be a part of my social groups, but maybe it was a good omen that we ran into each other for I ended up having one of the best days of my life. I only hope those folks are doing okay despite the lifestyle they chose.

I remember someone suggesting that gang kids weren't able to follow rules so they shouldn't be expected to..... A local youth counselor burst out laughing. She said, "The first thing that happens when you want to join a gang is they tell you all their rules. And why you'd better follow them."
Marginalized people, but also dysfunctional people are attracted to outsider lifestyles, but if you want to join a group like a biker gang, you have to be willing to accept their structure, expectations, and follow the rules. Of course, at some level there is chaos, but usually controlled chaos.
A student one time threatened that her father, a gang member, was going to kick my butt at Back To School Night. Latino society is generally more polite than Norte Americano society so it's always best to act respectfully. It's a good lesson anywhere. He came into my room, I was respectful, he was respectful. And my student, his daughter? She absolutely beamed with pride. Another time he came in with his arm in a sling. He'd been shot. I hope she's doing well.

I would also see packs of Hells Angels going down the 101 in the valley and also going north on the 405/5 freeways. I don’t know if it’s the same today. I was back on LA a couple years ago and I didn’t even recognize it. What they have done to that beautiful state is criminal. A lot of my friends who have been there since the 90’s have moved back to Phoenix and they were the ones that were never going to leave LA. It’s just so sad looking at what these politicians did to that gorgeous state

The best things motorcycle clubs do that gangs don’t is the hang around/prospect stage and age requirement. It keeps the numbers down and maintains the integrity of the club. A lot of other gang members naturally have a hang around period, but some don’t, and none really “prospect” now. All sorts idiots and psycho just join them and they answer to no one really

Very interesting you assign integrity to a criminal organization that kills and sells drugs to the community.

Urban street gangs and biker gangs are as comparable as kindergarten and college, or a chimp banging on a bongo drum and classical music. The cultures are not even close enough to compare.
