Oxhorn, you saved my life when i had covid about a year ago. i spend 2 months locked up in my house doing nothing but bingeing your fallout hystory and lore videos. they are so comforting and nice to sleep to, my favorite video was you talking about the secrets of Jamaka plain, that was a good one.
@@mcpossum You can loot his unique BOS uniform twice without the need for pickpocketing. Once when you kill him in the bunker, and once again when you assault the Prydwen in Airship Down.
@@Edax_Royeaux I forgot about the second time! Thank you for reminding me. I normally don't even bother finishing the game since I 100% the cheevos. I just start a new game and build settlements. Lol
I did this quest early in the game(like right after the Arc-Jet quest). It’s a great questline but man the Supermutant base was so difficult. I had to sneak in and then just “run away!” Lol 😂Plus the red speech check was a little frustrating. Thankfully I had my black suit with a charisma bonus 😂 👍🏼.
Yup, that was my experience in my latest playthru in a vanilla game with zero mods, everything else was a piece of cake, except the The Revere station full of supes. With the ghoul infested base, you just had to go visit the lobby, with like three of the buggers and leave. With the speech check, you should have just gotten a possible extra audio-note, where they say like: "Don't blame yourself Brandis, return to the others, live your life!"
I find it's best to wait until after dealing with Kellogg. Once the Brotherhood arrive, that base is often assaulted by BOS vertibirds which gives you a better chance of picking off the Supermutants at a distance.
Love your videos Ox! What mod do you use to make your character speak the dialogue? I can't seem to find anything like this. If anyone knows, please let me know, thanks!
Loved the brandis mission, i modded mine so there were overwhelming enemy which made it tuff, as i play my fallout games were if you die more than twice you start the game over so, forcing me to take cover cause at this point in the game i just can't afford to die, thanks for covering for me a great mission, there should of been more missions like this for the brotherhood because of the lore they have in the common wealth
I stumbled into this place running away from the death claw and when i ran passed Brandis he became hostile so i killed him and never knew there was any dialogue. 😬 Oops
The whole "go on guns blazing" never made sense to me, I've always played a stealth sniper build, I've taken on the training yard and the satellite array without being shot, much more satisfyingly
The conversation with Brandis perfectly illustrates the mockery of choice that Fallout 4 has in its dialogue trees. Quite literally doesn't matter what you choose, you get one of two outcomes. The fact that there's three laters of four options with only two outcomes shows that the writers are incapable (or unwilling) to design an encounter where there are actual consequences for your choices, rather than simply reducing every conversation into a "quickload until they don't got hostile" puzzle.
I thought he already covered the full story of this quest. I mean, I do get it from a story standpoint, but it just seems like he's going through extra work to edit it all a second time.
I always do this quest as the general of the minutemen, I just follow the distress beacons and when I find Brandis I give him the dogtags and holotapes and even though he rewards me with I can have everything in the Bunker I never take any of it. Brandis is a very bad leader and to have split up his people was wrong. How can he know anything about the commonwealth? He hightailed it and hid in a bunker for three years.
The production of your “stories of fallout” series are so good. It’s such a shame 4 and 76 don’t have stories on the same caliber as NV because that’s just peak content.
Oh greeaat, another New Vegas Supremacist... we all... mised you guys? (There are plenty of videos on New Vegas that you can go watch anytime. Let the guy make the videos he wants.)
@@expertpooper8550 not saying he should only make Vegas content or that he shouldn’t keep doing other fallout games. I’m glad he covers the other ones. Vegas was actually the last 3D fallout game that I played. Started with 3, then 4, tried 76, and I finally got to NV so I don’t have too much bias when it comes to Vegas being my first fallout. I’m just saying I wish 4 and 76 had the same level of writing as NV did
@@jorgecastillo2391 I get it, but we're all tired of hearing how New Vegas is the "best game". If you want New Vegas content, Oxhorn has a 100+ video playlist JUST covering that games lore.
What bothers me is that supposedly they’ve been missing for 3 years but their dead bodies haven’t rotten like Brandi’s aged became disheveled but the bodies are perfectly preserved
Nah, you can totally kill Brandis and loot the Survivor's Special. It was actually on the ground next to his crumpled corpse, you were almost looking directly at it.
I was only able to get brandis gun by killing him despite trying different things on multiple playthroughs, so I think the lost patrol quest is bugged, I could be wrong about that and my game data is corrupted, but I don't know
The PA frame at Revere is always empty. Out of the dozen or so runs I've done recently at different lvls I have never seen any armor pieces on that frame. Also if you do Lost Patrol and end up siding with the RR, you will have to kill Brandis in the Old North Church when he leads the main attack force against the RR EDIT: Ox, you can get the gun from Brandis after you kill him. It doesn't show up in inventory but drops on the ground. Same thing that happens with Clint's gun at Quincy and the Protectron's Gaze from Automatron DLC
This sentry bot at the training yard can be dissapointing. I had mine being legendary and since the only way to activate it is to get into the building, the sentry bot can actually lose its legendary status.
I have a trio of new mods I’d really like you to cover The Fiends Leave the Mojave the brother hood leaves new Vegas and the khans stay in new Vegas all done by the same guy pleas do all paths and show the ending slides
What? Not really sure what you’re talking about. He does full playthroughs of all fallout titles. fallout 4 has 3 faction endings so this is the longest of the games and he’s already covered the institute. The videos from a few years ago are different games lol

*Brandis turns hostile*
Danse: "This is the part of the job I love" while shooting Brandis.
Also Danse: *Hated that*
Danse did the synth equivalent of a Freudian slip.
Shitesda lol
Fun fact: if you kill bunker brandis then wait a while, the new paladin brandis will show up on the prydwen. This is because they are separate npcs.
This way, we can loot his unique outfit
So you saying one is a synth?
*ad victoriam intensifies*
ya beat me to this fun fact.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention Paladin Brandis’s Unique BOS Officer’s Uniform.
Feral ghouls in a national guard base? So, they must have been doing their training weekend when the bombs dropped.
same for most pre war buildings that arent occupied by a faction like raiders or gunners
Oxhorn better be in the next Fallout game. There is no way they don’t acknowledge him after all these years of work dedicated to the franchise.
Three years and those corpses don't show the smallest hint of decay.
Its been three years in some Egyptian calendar that runs the year in a three months of regular calendar
I never brought Danse along for this quest. It's cool that he has unique dialogue for the whole thing.
You can stumble across on the bodies without the quest, it will update this quest if you pick it up later
That hint at the end about Nick Valentine...?
I always appreciate seeing the various reactions I never get to activate in my own play throughs. Fun video, Ox!
Well good morning to u too Ox... Thanks for the breakfast video lol 🎉❤

On my last playthrough Danse shot him I didn't touched my weapon gave me the same speech... That why I downed the Prydwen.

Ox, Brandis's weapon was lying on the ground next to his body. It's a Legendary weapon, a really good one when upgraded.
ps he helps attack the instatuot in paladin armour

Right show, wrong actor. It's Tim Russ.
Laser weapons work better against robots.
