December is going to bring some BIG changes to Escape From Tarkov. First, we're getting the first close-beta access to Arena the long awaited traditional shooter DLC/Game BSG is releasing that is built into the EFT world.
We are also getting a new years wipe that is bringing some massive changes to the movement, weapons, ammunition and armor to the game. We are also getting a new map called Ground Zero for players under 15 or 20.

The new recoil looks great, and vaulting is useful. Sadly none of that matters at all until the cheating is culled.
Cannot believe I had go scroll this far to find this comment! The cheating in Tarkov is INSANE. There is someone using a cheat in nearly every lobby and that isn't being hyperbolic.
Im not saying you or anyone else that has issues with cheaters is wrong, but myself and friends rarely run into cheaters or at least none that are obvious or directly affecting us. Not sure if this is region based or time of day or what. I do see a lot of people talk about it and I have no doubt of its validity but it seems theres something going on where some people experience running into cheaters more than others.
You not running into them doesnt mean they are not there. Most cheaters dont go for kills, and stay flying and invisible. They go for the expensive loot so they can sell it later and resell the account or sell roubles for real money. They won't bother with ruining your experience directly.@@Grozloo
@@Grozloo At the end of the day, they're relying almost entirely on Battleye, a third-party anti-cheat, to protect their game.
There's very little server-side / internal protections.
There's very basic protections or things cheats shouldn't be allowed to do that they're getting away with.
There's so little effort being put into creating a solution.
@@Grozloo You do, they just aren't all aimbotting you. A lot of cheaters use cheats to avoid detection and get to loot and leave maps before you can see them. There are a million videos on it. There are statistically more lobbies with a cheater in them than there aren't. Give it a search here on UA-cam and you will find a LOT of content on it.
I hope they make the lvlcap for the new map the same lvl as flea market, so that we have one newbie map where NOBODY has access to flea market.
This game is hard enough as it is, having a place where people dont get curb stomped by metachads is gonna make this game ALOT more accessible.
This has been a problem ever since the Flea market was introduced, and with the help of the player base shifting into a power levelling playstyle thanks to cucks like Pestily.
Not a bad idea, I might purposely refuse to get XP just so I can stay in Early Wipe-land for longer.
Its been confirmed to be a level 15 locked map. Level 15 or below can only play it on their PMC, anyone will be able to play it as scav.
That means instead of quitting at lvl 4 ill quit at lvl 15 🤣😂
Truth, Imagine they made the lvl cap one higher than flea so each player to get to flea gets a raid or 2 to go nuts on all the Timmys. As a Perma-Timmy That might suck
you dont have to jump the highway barriers on interchange, just run into them for a half second and you phase through them.
Wanted to mention that too, many people dont know about its, its a nice way to save stam as well
Too bad I learned this the wipe before they add mantling. Fbm
some of tthem are finnicky. i found that to be 100% consistent with them, just shake your mouse from side to side when running into them
@@yurilopes420 nah, it just takes a half a second like i said. you can always get through them by just running straight into it even if you think you cant, it'll just take longer than you think.
you don't even need to run to get over it just move your mouse side to side and walk straight
Old time Tarkov player, been on a massive Hiatus since 2020 after 2 years of non-stop playing, can't wait for this update and arena. It's gonna feel good to be back.

@@evolicious 4200 Hours player here. stopped playing about 2 wipes ago, but most of my hours 2020-2022 were fine. Sure sus deaths are normal in a game where you don't have a death cam or something like that, but I always felt fine most of the time about it, to say it shorter, I enjoyed my 2 years in Tarkov despite some of my deaths could be done by cheaters, and it's enough for me. I always played on RU servers.
same same, cant wait to continue not playing this patch looks mid af lol, the only thing that even remotely is good is the recoil rework, which has been needed since i started in 2018. Arena will be the only thing ill be trying
The idea of plates being the only place that offers protection will make me consider giving Tarkov another try. Cause as a casual, or a newbie solo, the game is fucking impossible during PVP. It felt like it didn't matter how many times I'd shoot someone. They just weren't going to die, period. I'm also excited to hear about the recoil cause once again, as newb or as someone who plays Squad and HLL, the recoil is fuckin ridiculous. It makes no sense that when firing semi auto, you will have more recoil than just spraying full auto.
The recoil rework is the most exciting thing to me, the game is really unenjoyable when it comes to shooting people in recent years.
Plates won't change your inability to click on a head, you'll still get destroyed

I was waiting for armor hitboxes for SO LONG! i cant believe there is people against it but there is always people that disagree with a core feature that has been needed for a long time. Great video! i cant wait to play with the new systems

cant wait for scavs to absolutely hammer us with their mostly flesh ammo
its forcing people to stop sprinting around jumping everywhere and overall slow things down, this is exactly what they want for a realistic game, end of the day a bullet is a bullet and should be impactful if you get hit by one, anyways its not hard to deal with scavs you just have to play a little slower now which imo is a good thing
@@owengoddard2221my biggest issue with scavs is they seem to agro through walls sometimes, or through thick tree’s/bushes with no LOS on you.
Or at night, in the pitch dark they can see you just fine
I’d love if they improved the AI a bit more so that you can actually work around scavs if you’re trying to be more stealthy, or at least just not get randomly shot out of a bush
I’ve also found other PMC’s because some AI scav locked onto them through a wall or floor, giving me a general location.

@@counterfeit4450Scavs have always been brainless wallhacking aimbots. Boss AI is even worse, many tactics for fighting rogues and cultists rely on exploiting their AI to even have a fighting chance, otherwise you'll get a perfectly accurate burst of .50 cal to center mass from a mounted MG with iron sights half a kilometer away, or a cultist will one tap you in pitch darkness from range with a half broken gun and no night vision
The glock 18 is going to finally get a chance to shine with the armour change. LOL
I actually stopped playing Tarkov. My inability to commit the time and my 55 year old arthritic hands prevented me from "getting good". Still enjoy watching you play though.
You might be interested in SPT-AKI, the single player modded version of Tarkov. Since it's HIGHLY customizable it doesn't require massive time investment and you can make it as easy or as hard as you'd like. Personally I started playing SPT to avoid cheaters but ended up preferring it due to mods like Realism and SAIN AI.

@@Swagmessiah8394 i've played plenty of stalker. i wanted to get into gamma but just couldn't due to the repair system and how it was built into the progression. killing who knows how many guys with half broken scavenged weapons in the hope one of them has a functioning part for the shitty ak you've been trying to build for 10 hours so you can have a fighting chance only to find out you don't even have the right repair kit just wasn't fun.
also it doesn't have tarkov's weapon modding.
You aren't meant to scavenge parts, you can but that is much harder, doing tasks and leveling a faction to be able to buy weapon repair kits is takes longer but is better in the long run, you can also find said repair kits in stashes up north. Just like tarkov a good stalker doesn't need a super good gun to succeed@@Counter-Chicken

Few people have talked about the fact that armor itself will be more viable because lower pen rounds will be used more. Class 4 will actually be highly effective (when it catches the rounds ) at stopping bullets.
Remember running along toward your objective and hearing "Suka!" and turning just in time to see the hp bullet of a scav's sks flying toward your head eyes? I can only imagine ppl will have to be even more careful around not only players but scavs too now that they can sneak those hp rounds between plates as well, no complaint I like meta shake ups. Actually pretty hyped for the baby map, I never get to flea these days.

I don't play enough then get bored and quit. I dont like full sprint ultra chading around, I do that in pubg. I play Tarkov like a immersion sim/ stealth game. Naturally I dont level fast.

The next patch has me eagerly awaiting next wipe. By far the most exciting changes in a while i Think. Recoil rework and the starter map is awesome.
stripper clips and speed loaders would definitely make certain weapons a LOT more relevant.
Also, I can somewhat understand a lvl 1 or 0 skill mosin just racking the bolt and losing a round to reload, but at the very least high skill level users of the mosin should be able to just use their offhand to block the round from ejecting when attempting a reload.
This is basic level gun-owner knowledge if you ask me, and I'm surprised it was never in the game.
I didn't know they were doing a rework on the SKS, excited to see the new weapon model.
The model when your holding the sks makes it look bigger or wider than it is IRL, it is a very slim weapon but in tarkov it looks a little fat so im assuming they are fixing the scale of it.

Play factory, labs, or customs if your PC isn’t optimized for Tarkov.
The sad part is that compared to 6 years ago it runs way smoother.

So 1 shot heart kills should be included as well since armors now block more of the lethal parts of body
I don't think Tarkov is going that far, but it is the reason why the thorax is a critical body part where others are not.

To me the armor change would be really good if they made the armor a lot more accessible but made all the plates mostly only found in raids.

High level scavs can still enter the noob map to murder them.
my only issue was with eft was the sound of my character and other characters and also the moving motion.
I do think that armor needs to be cheaper than it is right now. People already think helmets are useless so this would only make this issue worse.
Good changes, i hope that the achievements will have unique rewards behind them, like some "seasonal" achievements. eg; get kappa season 1 and get unique armband and so on.
I agree. Cosmetic achievement rewards would be a big step forward for this game.

Im glad they are making it easier for new players to get the hang of the game. Some people are mad about that because they had to learn the hard way and they want their loot to be insane. Like you have been playing this game for years and expect a 14 year old to spend that same amount of time and money on the game? Let alone the fact that this game is almost a job. Idk but I work a job and am in high school and can't make up that time. Congrats that they are making that easier on the people who don't have the time to learn. 👏👏

Not a huge fan of the wipe landing during these big holidays instead of just before them. Everyone is busy on Christmas and new years, but if we’ve got a winter break period then we’ve got from the beginning of December to play more than typical. Still happy to hear of a new wipe though
I can already see vaulting being used to reach more inaccessible spots, mostly since it's procedural and not manually set
being able to climb out of windows will be sick
the vaulting will be good for us players whom do not sprint trough the levels and play the game slower than most streamers.

Daily reminder there is still no update on making tarkov audio comparable to other modern games.
I'm excited about the new 9A-91 due that ammo being available, but the vss and the as-val being so expensive, it's hard to run it.

The Ammo from Prapor is so weak in this game it is unplayable. How did Nikita think is it possible to eat so much ammo without even collapsing. So unrealistic.
a level restriction for each map would be dope, like every map with a level 1-15 option, then a level 15 and up option. then i guess a 3rd option where its unrestricted.. zero knowledge of developing a game, i wonder how easy or difficult adding something like that would be

I think one map is okay, given the story and tutorial aspect of it...but It does suck once you get to a certain level you need to reset your account to play the map ( especially if it turns out to be your favourite).
The wipe is happening at the end of December.

the new map, should be until level 15, and then it can be accessed as well by all lv 16+ players. perhaps most maps should have some similar system that helps new players learn the game by queueing with low lv players only.

It would be interesting if the armor changes made the carrier inconsequential. Give the armor plates their real ratings and If I want lv4 plates in an interceptor that guy attacking would be in for a surprise
you will probably be able to get slicks pretty easily now, as the carrier was never what made it good or desireable, simply the high level armor plates will be whats more expensive/harder to obtain
it does use real ratings, its just that NATO mostly uses american NIJ ratings, and the game uses russian GOST ratings, while american armor ratings only has 1-4 with weird things inbetween like IIIa and III+, the GOST system is relatively accurate to whats in game
edit: for reference, level 4 GOST is basically equivalent to NIJ level 3 plates
Would be nice if after lvl15 u could only match with other players above 15 on that map, seems like a waste of map otherwise since 15 is so quick.

@DeadlySlob .. question for you. But first some background I love Tarkov. I built my pc for this game 5 years ago, just for tarkov. I'm almost 5000 hours in, and right now im not enjoying the game like I once did. I'm not a sweaty grinding player but im not a casual player either. I see you playing mainly Solo, and i used to love playing with a duo, but it seems everyone is falling out of love in a sense. I know this is a inevitable cycle, but i wanted to know.....
how do you stay so focused and in love with Tarkov?
I've taken small breaks over the last 2 years, and I know there is a certian evolution of the player base, like some players getting better, and some getting worse but the game just doesn't feel the same. (I.E. bolt actions, I used to feel like they were a fantastic play style, but now i can't use them at all. They just dont feel good any more.)
There are many examples of how the game feels now vs how it was even just 2 years ago. But i just cant seem to enjoy it as much... please let me know the your opinion and anwser.
The armor plates and recoil updates will be great, well mostly recoil,for obvious reasons.
The armor plates tho? They will change the economy compltetely! Fewer people are gonna be walking around in level 3 armor the moment they unlock the trader.
More and more people will be forced to use soft armor with the higher end armors being reserved for serious raids.
I just really hope it doesn't completely fuck the marketplace cuz it's happened before with the NVGS and expensive guns and what not.
Idk if anyone remembers but 2 years back a salewa could go for 350k on the market,shit was rough, especially when something life saving costs so much because of price gouging!

Just need a low, high ready. Rework of scav animations to make them feel more human like, and lader climbing.
Scav low ready at the very least with them walking around and chatting would be a big step in the right direction.
Vaulting speed looks too fast for me.
My main concern is the rampant hackers in this game. i hope they do something about it. But besides that, everything else seems golden. i cant wait.

Well - this is a big 'f u' to everyone making fun of them over the years saying they'll never do it. However, Arena going on sale is likely the reason. They can pad the lost sales with Arena.
With the right decission game still can be great and not totaly mainstreamed for the mass players. As you say, I hope that Arena will fill that need for fast and pvp gameplay. And finaly EFT will be set in the right direction with more meaning and rich gamplay.

Seeing Tarkov Implement a Level locked map makes me hopeful. I think that locking it whole would be dumb, I agree with you Deadly. I hope that they instead make it available in two versions.
This is something I also hope they expand upon with all other maps too. Making Customs early game 1-5 or idk maybe 10. Then adjust the rest and so on. Factory would stay the age old free for all.
I suppose I will actually keep an eye out for coming updates now that this ones news are out. Interesting developments ngl. And maybe they will make me return to the game eventually too. Hoping for the best here cause I love the game but I am not a competitive enough player to be able to even withstand Customs during the lowest amount of players active with how lootgreedy some players can be.
The way the tasks are having all maps locked to a certain level would not make sense. It would also be bad as people would just stop at certain levels because they dislike the map they are locked to.
Having a single locked map for low levels is great but putting all maps behind a level lock will kill the player base for the wipes faster.
@@romeunleashed2 Like I said. Having it locked whole on its own would be bad. But having a map next to the unlocked map for the leveled experience would still serve the game better than throwing every new fish into the sharktank. Cause thats what Tarkov is at the moment.
I have been playing the game a few years back as a newbie, still am one technically cause I stopped eventually because of the above. If you go into a wipe, 2 years back in this case, and you get greeted 2 weeks in by a fully decked out lootlord chad level type squad on customs when you are just a puny level 1, that is simply not fun or fair. I am not even talking about it being realistic here. I am talking about it from a multiplayer game perspective that is a battle royal type play.
If this were DayZ, I wouldnt complain about it. Because DayZs map fits 60 players and in one session of 8 hours you maybe meet 3-6 of them. 10 if you are lucky. But in Tarkov, maps can hold up to 30 players at once, depending on how the game goes, how long the game plays out and how many survive. And the maps are small enough for you to at least meet 15 of them in a matter of an hour if you are good enough. Note: "If you are good enough". Which most newbies arent. They die 2 minutes in.
Only to then be told "You should train to play offline" with no meaningful advancements to be made in gameplay doing so. Its like learning for a test thats coming in 2 months. Just that in this case its a video game and you wanna play the damn video game. Not having to study it, in and out, to be able to play it. Again, DayZ has a HUGE skillceiling too. But it requires far less "learning" to play it. And DayZ and Tarkov are very easily comparable.

this was fairly common practice irl. in urban warfare it proved to be a fatal choice

I still don't get why they dont add missions in de beginning and a single small map pve only to help you learn the playstyle, the controls and how to fight scavs.
Now only edge of darkness owners can do that in single player

Yeah but you forgot the part that comes after, a small map with only pve so beginners can learn without Chad's bro's come for your ass bc they hear gunfire or grenades. And this has made a lot of my friends to stop playing the game bc of the hard learning curve. Especially if they start later in the wipe
