  • It’s been a year now since we last took a look at the Radeon RX 7900XT, an enthusiast level graphics card from AMD’s latest line up and back then it didn’t make that much sense for the price but things have changed.

Still love my RX 7900 XT, I went for the Sapphire Pulse model which cost me about £750 when I got it. I play at 1440p high refresh and it's a brilliant card especially if not bothered about RT, like myself.

Love my 7900XT. It crushes everything I've thrown at it in 1440p. The RT has been very good in most of the titles where I care to use it (Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077) but I honestly don't think game look that much better with RT cranked, frankly.

If someone get a brand new 7900xt with great cooler for $600, then its a good deal imo.

Have you noticed this?: I noticed AMD consistently is behind NVIDIA about a year. Let me break this down. The RX 7900 XT is exactly double the speed of the Nvidia 20 Series and is about equal or a bit more than the NV flagship of the last generation 3000 Series. And the NVIDIA 4000 series Flagman is about almost double the productivity of the AMD's counterpart (and of course at the double price) This means AMD is definitely catching up but is still a generation behind. I would assume the next AMD's flagship GPU will be only a half as fast than what the NVIDIA will bring on the table in that famous cooking OVEN

I picked up that same exact GPU early last year. It was an open box that was $685+ tax. Personally, I run it with a 1440p ultra wide monitor. I can run most games at max settings without any upscaling or frame generation. Being $900 at launch was excessive but $700 or less is a great value. Also, it would be nice to see the VRAM usage when you run benchmarks. I was curious to see how much VRAM those games were using at 4K in this video.

So it's finally the price it should have been at release, but it's a good buy now????? It's almost like reviewers are trying to help AMD empty stocks as much as they can before the next release...

  • @sunnycat69

I legit just ordered this card off Amazon for $689 USD shipped

  • @TruSuCiO23

Same here, got the 240hz 1440p Samsung G7 monitor but I keep games at 120-165 fps 1440p with a mix of high and ultra settings and all games look so great!

I found a 7900XT for £599 the other week, it was such an amazing deal. I was considering a 7900 GRE at the time so it was a no brainer for me to spend £70 more to get the extra vram and performance. Although I got a faulty one at first, Im getting my replacement tomorrow and am hyped as it was so fast compared to my 6700xt.

Entire 7000 series has terrible value proposition, if you got any AMD card between 6700 xt to 6900 xt.

  • @sammasic5849

I got my self a XFX version, RX7900XTX . It's a beast, runs everything at max graphic without any struggle.

I got the Powercolor 7900xt reference model on launch day since all xtx models were sold out at MicroCenter. 19 months later, I'm still pleased with my decision. I didn't have to worry about the cheap power adapters the Nvidia cards are plagued with, and also the 7900 xtx overheating issue we had with reference models.

  • @Sucharek22

Do you have maybe video on your channel about undervolting such power consumption GPU like this? In amd software ofcourse

I’m new to the PC environment after twenty years or so using prebuilt gear and Apple (iPads/iphone) I’m using a Ryzen 5 5600x with built in discrete Radeon graphics. It’s such a great little PC, I’m enjoying the building experience as much as I’m enjoying the extent to which the technology has improved over the years. 😊 I like the idea of having a GPU like this but my current setup is absolutely smashing everything I throw at. 😊

I have Sapphire same card. Day One i get it and still awesome. Just couple days ago i change termal pads with Termal Putty and put some Arctic MX4 termal paste and termals is better than ever right now.

Just picked one up about a week ago for 660 usd and absolutely love it with my 1440p monitor. A great pick up now.

  • @TheJamesKF

I have this exact card that I picked up for 650USD open box last year. I like the dimensions of the reference cards since I run itx and other smaller builds. No complaints here. Good stuff!

  • @kshitijrastogi1

    Another great video sir!

  • @michahojwa8132

Cyberpunk OC+UV+RTPT + FSR3FG + XESS1.3 mod 4k xessp 100fps RTGI medium+RT Reflections. Original path tracing mod ran 1440p xessp 120fps. OC can get you 2,2 > 3GHz for asus rog or nitro+ and 2,7-2,95 on pulse, depending on number of output fps. This card exists to be OCed/UVed. If FSR3.1 is at least close to Xess1.3 then I should be able to go 900p > 4k 90fps with path tracing.

I'm not into games but got into GPUs for running AI/LLMs/Machine Learning. I'm looking at this card, because it seems to be the best card for "budget" performance while offering 20GB RAM, RDNA3 and ROCm compatibility. This card is more capable than the current ones I'm running, and it's also less power hungry than the MERC 310 (24GB). So even though it's ~$700 US, I think I'll be getting it soon. Thanks for the review!
