    I switched from 1080GTX to 7800XT for 550$ last year. Very happy so far. No drivers issues, very stable fps. I don't care about the ray tracing hype and do NOT want to give my cash to NVIDIA anymore. Their price, rasterizing performance and naming of GPU's using different components is insane and anti consumer. That is my first AMD GPU (already use AMD CPU's since many years) and I plan to upgrade to their next generation in 2025 as I did upgraded recently to a 5210x1440 monitor :)
    Last point: AMD is making good progress with FSR tech. Version 3 is really food already.

      @@1vaultdweller I do agree. Of course RT would be nice to have with future GPU (in 2 or 3 generation) when we will get high end GPU (4090) equivalent in mainstream GPUs. In the meantime, I pick what does offer the best ratio price /rasterized performance. AMD rocks with FSR 3 and soon 4, no reason to switch back to nvidia overprice products. For less than the price of a 4090 I got a brand new Oled Envia 8900 49" + 7800XT. perfect combo for me. I will then switch to next AMD generation GPU offering probably +30/40% more than 7800XT to get better performance for Flight Simulator 2024 and Star Citizen.

With custom Overclock and undervolt, I'm getting 200+ FPS on Forza 5 and Cyberpunk 2077 1440р max settings even with ray tracing on (Forza, RT on extreme) using AFMF 2, no FSR, only MSAA 8x. you should have no issues overclocking the AMD card even when it comes OC. i have an RX 6750xt Red Devil and i overclock every game. i wouldn't listen to people who tell you quick answers they just want to sound smart, i garuntee there was another reason for the crashes in hogwarts legacy. that being said, you need to remember that you have all these features on Adrenaline software that Nvidia just doesn't have. espeically the dx9 features in advanced features, and yes, the subsurface optimization works on all games lol, even the anisotropic filtering, image sharpening etc. and if you don't have freesync, there's enhanced sync works on all games. also the recording on adrenaline is phenomenal and tons more. adjusting overclocks for each specific game and adjusting colors for each game is something you just can't get on Nvidia and is why i'm sticking with AMD.

      True but you have a Red Devil. It's a beast of an overclocking card, same with Sapphire Nitro+. I didn't really bother trying to really figure out why Hogwarts was crashing since that was the only game that was. I also didn't see much performance difference with overclocking.

    FSR implementation can vary significantly from game to game. Besides the different versions of FSR, developers must implement it correctly for optimal performance. For example, FSR works better than XeSS in the new Final Fantasy game, where XeSS is less stable, while FSR 3.1 performs exceptionally better. Additionally, the quality also depends on the monitor you use. On a 2K monitor, "Quality" mode is fine, but on a 4K monitor, "Balanced" mode can still deliver a decent experience.

    • @FireCestina1200
      @FireCestina1200 2 місяці тому +1

      1050 is too low. Will cause a crash over long time gameplay. On short gameplay you might not crash but you will definitely. Also, it's not RAM. It's VRAM. And the 7800XT can easily handle 2555 (need to set 2568 in adrenalin) (some models can handle 2600 but that's really the lottery). The GPU voltage for perfect stability is 1150mV. For OC it's 1125. For more OC it's 1100mV (it's usually the limit before potential crash/issues during boot or very long gameplay) everything under 940mV is unplayable for 99% of people. And everything between 940mV and 1100mV will highly overclock your card (since the lower the voltage the higher your clock will be, so the stability will drop too) that's why in most cases all 7000 series cards can handle 1125mV without issues. And lower than 1125mV it will depends of the card/lottery. Personally I set 2838MHz core clock and 2568MHz memory clock with 1100mV perfect in absolutely everything I own. Didn't find anything that caused any issues. On cyberpunk the GPU can be set higher without error. But not the memory (will crash overtime)

    The difference is night and day specially in the contrast department and i find it to be the perfect size for me with a desk depth of 31.5 inches.
    Maybe you should give it a try in the near future plus the TV also becomes your multimedia center where you can stream with your phone or use the apps such as crunchyroll to watch stuff without having the PC on all the time, i honestly don't see myself going back to a regular monitor anytime soon.

    Just wanted to mention about AV1 bitrate. AV1 produces higher quality at lower bitrates compared to H264/AVC and H265/HEVC. So it's best to lower your bitrate depending on what quality you're looking for. I personally sit my bitrate around 8k-12k kbps. Comparatively H264 15k-20k kbps can produce the same quality of AV1 8k-12k kbps.

    I am running a 6800xt on 3440x1440 res. Had to undervolt my gpu so it gets less power throttled and now all games run natively without fsr on at least 60 fps with settings on high or ultra (in cyberpunk & hogwards). I would also recommend trying out frame gen but the "soft" version that only pumps up the fps by like 50-60% which makes it barely noticeable, I am usually not a fan of frame gen at all. Nvidia can suck my big toe.

    AMD is not the ideal choice for video editing or Adobe software applications. In comparison, Intel and Nvidia perform well in these tasks.
    Intel and AMD need to more improve in 2024. Intel's prices are too high for their specs, while the Mac M4 offers great performance at a lower cost.
    An Intel computer of comparable quality to a Mac Mini M4 costs twice as much as a Mac Mini M4.

    Considering AMD cards, I will add something from myself on a topic other than games. I would like AMD cards to provide good support for CUDA and the same performance in AI as their NVIDIA counterparts in the near future, because in gaming they are truly wonderful, but their professional use is simply at a tragic level. For example, to play a bit with AI using Stable Diffusion, you need to switch to Linux, because trying to run it on Windows is simply pointless. There are some attempts to translate CUDA to AMD (and Intel) cards on Windows - ZLUDA, as well as some attempts to use other architectures - DirectML and MS Olive, but I know from experience that for now it does not work as it should (mainly because almost no one is interested in designing software for a niche market such as non-NVIDIA). Either most of the functions do not work, or when some functions do work, they run 3 times slower than the already much slower use of ROCm (AMD's official software package that includes a CUDA support layer) on Linux. ROCm is currently only available for Linux. For anyone who only wants to play games and is not interested in Ray Tracing, AMD cards are a great choice because they are cheaper and usually offer more VRAM than NVIDIA equivalents from the same shelf. However, if someone is interested in professional applications in rendering or programs such as Blender, they have no choice but NVIDIA cards, because on them everything just works as it should without additional hours of playing the game "Will it work or have I wasted half a day?".

    My 5700xt has been nothing but a hazzle, i dont play many AAA titles and its causing all sorts of weird straight to windows for no reason, no OC anywhere not even XMP, doesnt come close to 70°c on any component that i can tell, so not overheating either.
    I have installed who even knows how many drivers over the 5'ish years ive had it, running DDU and reverting back and forgetting what settings i need to do with what because its not having the same problems with every driver in every game or browsers, and its not the same games that takes issue in all versions, its been hell, and ive settled on 23.8.1 as it has been the one that caused the least amount of issues happening at the same time (keyword is least), but in the years ive had the card it has been nothing but "what is it this time!?".
    We are not talking settings that makes a whole lot of sense either for it to be stable for any game.
    Not worth the money saved for me.
    If AMD decides to have really good drivers at some point i might give them a whirl again.
    Been running Nvidia 20 years past that, and ive never had anything remotely like this ever with any card or driver to this extend, sure ive had wonky Nvidia drivers before, sure it has been crashing somtimes, but i was always able to use overall settings to solve the issues period.
    I can understand the lure of price and charm, and when it performs its really good for their price, however when it doesnt work you want to yeet the card because youre going to spend more time attempting to fix whatever the hell is wrong with the driver than you are playing a game.
    If your card and drivers work 100% in everything you use it for then consider yourself lucky.
    And that's my honest take on it.

I had the gtx 1070 back in the day and everyone says that was the golden era of nvidia well i'd hate to see it now! Plus more people need to think hard about the fact nvidia have 80+% market share which is baddd imagine no competition at all no other company's doing gpu's. 4090 is already pathetic price wise, so imagine what they would do if they had zero competition.

    • @Spectrulight
      @Spectrulight 15 днів тому

      It's AMD fault for not competing. they were bigger than nvidia, but nvidia was the better company. Nvidia has a new app called nvidia app. AMD rarely makes any innovations, and even when they do, nvidia copies and does it better. When the only thing a company does better is price per frame and vram, then its obvious it would have lower market share.
      We as consumers shouldn't be helping companies gain market share. They should be making better products.

    Hello. I still don't understand what all the fuss about upscaling methods are about. No offense towards you but, you know what!? Thousands of games never supported it and in future even more thousands of thousands game will never do. The reason is very simple as majority of games don't need it.
    Games like Danganronpa Series, Persona Series, Ace Attorney Series, any visual novel, miHoYo's games, tons of Steam's F2P games, literally every indie game (except the ones like Bright Memory as I don't know if they use it or not but it's an indie game), and tons of games (literally the list just goes on and on and on) never needed upscaling.
    As much as I know, console ported games or any other AAA games are the only ones who have the upscaler option. Games like Valorant and CS are very huge titles but they lean completely towards NVIDIA Reflex but then again, a lot of people play without reflex and in eSports tournaments, things like this aren't allowed I guess.
    Gaming was always about playing games and not about only and only Ray Tracing or upscaling as it is now.

    Are you kidding me? For the overlay you can do whatever you want. You must have not seen the settings. I feel like you need to be more educated on radeon before you come up with a review. And You can run native resolution no problem on 99 percent of the games out there.

      That's a big upgrade. I feel like going from a 12600k to a new gen cpu won't see the benefit for how much it will cost.
