I remember when these came out. I was working in a mall at the time and the local Nissan dealer had one on display there. I always made a point to be cleaning that part of the mall just so I could check it out.
I have an 02 Altima 3.5 SE. Real fun car. 158k and the engine still rips 0-60 like new. Planning to give it to my kid and get myself an SE-R. Love that exhaust note. Nobody believes it's stock. Inspections suck up here in Mass so it's hard to get away with any exhaust that isn't factory stock.
Basically a Nissan Maxima in just about everything, but the name. And if the $12 899 price isn't there to scare away potential buyers, then the car held its value pretty well.
Man, I'd have a tough time between this and an 06-07 Accord V6 6MT. The Altima has a bit more power but the Accord is more refined... hmmm.... Although I do think the Accord looks better on the inside and out. Prolly the Honda for me xD
@Jamie Lazenby Altima 3 gen model years are 2000-2006. There was a face lift at 05-06. Altima SE-R was out at 2005 and stop at 2006. Basically, it is a 3.5 with 10 extra Hp, 3 gauges in center console instead of storage box. Leather seat with se-r logo. More aggressive exhaust sound. Aggressive front bumper, rear bumper, came with 6 speed manual or 5 speed auto manual tranny. 18" forged rims. 26.5 rear sway bar instead of 22mm in 3.5se. This SE-R has OEM bumper, but not the one for SER
I drive an 04 Nissan Sentra SER Spec V it's fast I can only imagine how fast the Nissan Altima SER is I might get one of these in a year from now because my Sentra has 360,000 miles on it I'm planning on scraping it when it hits 400,000 miles and getting a 05 or 06 Nissan Altima SER with a 6 speed manual transmission my only concern is if these cars are gas guzzlers
Hey, I was went from a 02 Spec V to an Altima SE-R too. It's a pretty fun car. I've had it for a year and a half now and it's been good on gas. It averages about 25 mpg, for me.
OhhhItsKainee I'm glad you told me that because people who owns the Altima SER never bothered to mention the gas mileage since it's a bigger engine with a V6 I'm guessing it should be 45-50 bucks to fill up the tank on full
Why is this car fwd? Just a question for Nissan... Because this car would make kick ass rwd car. Either for racing or for drifting. Nissans are my favorite sports cars for the reason of the performance and fwd with that v6 just doesnt fit in the personality of its siblings...
David Pisciotta Lol I bet it is fun on back roads! My Civic Si is pretty awesome on them! I lowered it and the thing feels planted. Anyway, Nissan's 6 cylinder engines can tear it up, especially with forced induction... But what I'm saying is that it surprises me they didn't even make a RWD V Spec... We all know how Nissan loves their drifters... lol
The thing I didn't like about this generation Altima's is that they had a cheap interior w/ too much plastic. I had two aunts that drove Altima's from this generation. I think they improved that on the current generation ones but I was only in one for a short period of time.
Do you know what CVT mean(continuous variable transmission) it's a completely different thing.....meaning it pretty much only has one gear, you are right about the transmission issues but the CVT was a way they went about fixing the Altima's use cvts also starting at I believe 08
@smokingmonki I believe, that the majority of Altimas sold with the much more sensible 2.5L 4 banger, specially in Canada. Recently I seen a private listing in the Auto Trader, about a well priced and fairly recent Maxima from Québec.(same engine as this). The owner actually admitted, that the reason for selling that it has a too big and thirsty engine for his purpose.
@Annihilator1111 Wrong, your talking about the KA24 engine being built in Mexico(with the exception of all 240, and 94-97 Altima, which is built in Japan), the 1st and 2nd gen Altima was built in Symrna, Tennessee, and starting it 2004 they built some in Canton, Mississippi.
This altima is 20 times better then my dads pos 2.5 dope ass gauges and muffler are awsome i would love to buy something like this screw gas mileage oww yeahhh!!! If ur a fast ass driver buy this. Its perfect for that
Love that Nissan V6, i like how Nissan used the same sunroof controls forever, my old 1st gen Altima had the same switch. Can you please do a review for the 4th gen Accord the 90-93 years.
@PantstofryPWNZ Tell me about it. I live in Arizona and i see that sometimes. They wreck out this high end cars and all they have to do is go to daddy and they get another one. As for texting i admit i do it while driving, yeah i know its dangerous but i dont know. Your state doesnt have a law against talking/texting while driving?
The engine sounds so good because its pretty much the exact same as they used in the 350z. 350=3.5 get it? lol. but yeah my infiniti I35 has the same engine as this and it sounds like this stock. I love these engines.
@05NismoGirl Not quite... it's the same engine, just detuned. Still the glorious VQ though. My mom has a 245hp version of it... it still sounds nice even with that little power.
I remember when these came out. I was working in a mall at the time and the local Nissan dealer had one on display there. I always made a point to be cleaning that part of the mall just so I could check it out.
Bro ur lucky to check that thing out everyday.
I graduated from high school in 2004, had the exact color in September of 2004, and now I own a Black one and the smoke Grey Altima SE-Rs
Back when Nissan had some good cars with real transmissions, they had this Altima
Actualllllyyy the re5f22a transmission in these cars can be reliable but also they have faulty valvebodys so pray you took care of it or you’re fucked
Have a 3.5 SE 5MT

i love the SE-R version of the Altima. Damn
Damn the sound of that car is AMAZING
i want one
What a rare find! This is actually a really quick car for what it is. I wish I could find one of these with low miles and a manual gearbox.
I have an 02 Altima 3.5 SE. Real fun car. 158k and the engine still rips 0-60 like new. Planning to give it to my kid and get myself an SE-R. Love that exhaust note. Nobody believes it's stock. Inspections suck up here in Mass so it's hard to get away with any exhaust that isn't factory stock.
that front wheel gap is insane
Can’t believe they were charging 12K back in 2011 since you can pick up a clean example of these for $5K now...sign of the times
Try now...I'm sure they are hitting 12k at private sale
@@aphex14 got mine just about a month ago for about 5k
THE BEST ALTIMA EVER BUILT! period.
I still love this Altima.
That thing looks and sounds awesome!
Yes! You finally reved above 4000!!!! That's a record
Great car. Be even better as an AWD drive car. They should bring it back on an AWD platform.
You predicted it except they dropped the 3.5 for a turbo 4 cylinder
Sweet! What a nice Altima! Great vid as always Kyle!
5:37 forever scarred now...
yeah, she looks awkward, stupid, crazy, horny, scared, and creepy all at once. dafuuuq son!
Jessica johnson That was his gf now his wife. very ignorant
Jessica johnson lol too funny
I've been trying to get my hands on an Altima SER for years now, they are so damn hard to find!
I have 2 of them now!
That car sounds mean! God I love those 3.5's.
Space and power all in one!
love this channel...such a straight forward, completely in depth review of all types of automobiles.
Basically a Nissan Maxima in just about everything, but the name. And if the $12 899 price isn't there to scare away potential buyers, then the car held its value pretty well.
Guys, go to 5:35 and look closely at the vanity mirror...doesn't it look like there's a head in the back seat?...
it does wtf
maybe it is lol
+nulinetransport12 damn.
it is, if you keep watching you see her get up in the rear view mirror
you fking guy lmfao, it's a woman who was laying down and she got up after. Don't fk with our minds LOL!
This reminds me of my cousins 3.5 SE-R
This car is a certified classic fr.
I was looking at the Altimas a while back before I had my license, if I had known they were made in an SE-R trim I would've looked a little deeper!
Is that exhaust stock, if so thats amazing!
I loved these cars when they came out. I still like this SER better than the 08 style.
Man, I'd have a tough time between this and an 06-07 Accord V6 6MT. The Altima has a bit more power but the Accord is more refined... hmmm.... Although I do think the Accord looks better on the inside and out. Prolly the Honda for me xD
MAN i love THIS altima. this altima RIGHT HERE. gorgeous.
I miss this car so much
Did anyone notice the girl laying in the back seat at 5:39?
it sounds so angry. love it
Love the exhaust note

Automatic sunroof..................Automatic sunroof. LOL Man, that thing is sweet. Sounds INSANE!
one of the best sounding exhausts in the biz next to the g35,g37 and nissan z

Gravecb7 Accord That sounds about right. I fill up when I have a quarter tank left and it's usually about $35-40 for a full tank.
Do you fill with premium fuel mate? Im very close to purchasing one myself
Yeah, only premium. I think I'll be keeping the car for a while so I'm babying it.
should i buy one of these
That would be an awesome daily!
love the rims and exhaust
the 2000-2006 Nissan Altima was assembled in
Aguascalientes, Mexico
lol just saw this pic on the facebook page and said wow what a nice car and it is quite a nice car.
I really like these gen altimas
I like the older Altimas the best.

Kanda, Fukuoka, Japan
who is holding the camera for you? for the exhaust clip
I can see your car in the background :)
Which sounds better your cars V6 or that altima's?
Why is this car fwd? Just a question for Nissan... Because this car would make kick ass rwd car. Either for racing or for drifting. Nissans are my favorite sports cars for the reason of the performance and fwd with that v6 just doesnt fit in the personality of its siblings...
nissan is also my favorite sports car company
Get a g35 if you want a RWD version! :)
what 4 door g35 na only 2 door but i would get a g35
David Pisciotta What package is that? I'm considering buying an SER and I'd like to know as much about the car as possible.
David Pisciotta Lol I bet it is fun on back roads! My Civic Si is pretty awesome on them! I lowered it and the thing feels planted. Good review & great Nissan.
I'm trying to buy my first car. Would you recommend 2004 Maxima 3.5SE or the 2005 Altima SE-R?
2004 Maxima
se-r the max isnt as respected cvt and all
xdagam3x 04 Maxima doesn't have a CVT in it but to David go with the Maxima
Do you know what CVT mean(continuous variable transmission) it's a completely different thing.....meaning it pretty much only has one gear, you are right about the transmission issues but the CVT was a way they went about fixing the Altima's use cvts also starting at I believe 08
still got my 02 altima se fully modded runs and drives amazing left an infinity g35 in the dust and a mustang gt
Love these cars! Thanks for the video! Wait.. @ 4:40 what did you say it sounds like you said "very bad"
great video. lol im falling behind i havent watched any of ur new short takes

I know da Sentra 03 and up has aux why the Altimas don't have it ?
smh at the non se-r rear bumper
What are you talking about? That's the "stock" SE-R bumper...
JxC lmaooo no it not it's a stock 3.5se bumper not a se-r..the se-r bumper is longer
Thank you lol. Either someone put a reg 3.5 replacement bumper on or this is an ser clone.

@britishcarfan Yeah the SE-R has a high flow cat exhaust stock, Sounds very nice if you haven't heard it in person.
is this the same engine that was in the 350Z ?
This altima is 20 times better then my dads pos 2.5 dope ass gauges and muffler are awsome i would love to buy something like this screw gas mileage oww yeahhh!!! If ur a fast ass driver buy this. Its perfect for that
What's stupid is that I got a 2.5S for just over $15,000 but this SE-R is just under $13,000. FML
Jared Lines 2013 altima coupe almost new for like 13,000 used for like under 7,00
Dude what is with the head on the back sea man????
awesome exhaust
Theres a ding on the rear bumper on the right
love these cars!
Love that Nissan V6, i like how Nissan used the same sunroof controls forever, my old 1st gen Altima had the same switch. Can you please do a review for the 4th gen Accord the 90-93 years.
nissan/infiniti by far makes the best sounding stock exhaust notes.
Wait that’s the stock exhaust?????????
@PantstofryPWNZ Tell me about it. I live in Arizona and i see that sometimes. They wreck out this high end cars and all they have to do is go to daddy and they get another one. yea, i was thinking about getting a maxima 3.5 se but i chose the g35 coupe 6MT ....rear wheel drive is where its at
wow that exhaust is stock?
do they still have it for sale?
thats the most free revving v6 ive ever seen
it is yes and its also the stock intake . with some mods its way better

GOOD REVIEW & GOOD CAR.
@MrCarGuy20 no problem proud to help :-)
nice! a little redline for a good time! cold engine!
gotta love vq
I love this car.
Have you sold it yet?
@NotARealUTubeAccount and the rims on the left side are scratched.
@made38 It's not. It's the 3.5 SE's rear bumper.
Kyle, if it's possible, could you do a 65-68 Cadillac Deville please?
Found one exactly like this, with 94k miles too. Now do I want this or a Mazdaspeed 6
OhhhItsKainee speed6.....
+OhhhItsKainee speed 6 all the way
what did u end up getting?
+Darkhazard speed 6 has more torque! if you want peace of mind get the Ser the speed 6 has more problems than the altima.
Ended up with the Altima. The price was dropped and the MS6 was sold.
does this car have tweeters ?
Is this car quick from 0-60?
Yeah mines about 3.5 seconds with mods.
this is a sweet car
The engine sounds so good because its pretty much the exact same as they used in the 350z. 350=3.5 get it? lol. but yeah my infiniti I35 has the same engine as this and it sounds like this stock. I love these engines.
this is a FR car right?
Um i think i saw some one in the backseat at @5:39 am i right?? laying down
Keep them coming You Tube!
how come the rear bumper isnt an se-r bumper
There is a person in the back seat!! What is going on?!
this particular model comes with oem panie meat.
@05NismoGirl Not quite... it's the same engine, just detuned. Still the glorious VQ though. My mom has a 245hp version of it... it still sounds nice even with that little power.
