  • In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1992 Nissan Stanza XE. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Honestly, one of the most reliable cars ever made. My family purchased one brand new in 1991 and 25 years later it drove like it was just getting broken in.

In Australia, we call the Stanza the Pintara. My aunt had a '91 model. It had done 230,000 kms (142,000 miles) when she sold it and she absolutely loved it. Also you don't see too many Pintaras in Australia anymore either

Great car! I put a lot of miles on my 1990. What a great interior. That "fresh air" switch on the hvac controls was my favorite feature. I've never seen it on any other car. (You could have hot air on your feet and fresh air through the vents. Amazing!)

All nissans used to built in japan and older nissans are extremely reliable. As soon as nissan started building their cars in U.S and mexico their reliability ratings went straight to shitter.

I had one of these 1990 in gold. Bought new in 1990 and drove until 238,000 miles sometimes at 130mph, until 2003 when I totaled it. Crashed into a benz. Totaled with no coolant in the radiator but still drive it home for 30 miles like that and then 2 days later I drove it to the junkyard. This was a sad day, Today I own an R34 GTR in bayside blue so I am not complaining.

Very nice car. I love the automatic seatbelts. Such a touch of innovation for late80s or early90s cars. I just love those japanese vehicles. Everlasting. Sidemarker lights are charming, besides a safety item.

  • @wotan20

I know others mentioned it, but it's almost eery, how much this Stanza remind me the Maximas of that era both in exterior and interior styling. Dashboard, dials, even down to locations and the look of the individual switches and buttons. In any case, this vehicle is an excellent testimony for the quality Nissan has built into their products. After 19 years this car can still be a desirable purchase for an individual, or a small family on a tight budget.

You gotta love Nissans for their durability... My dad sold his 1998 Nissan Tsuru (Nissan Sentra B13 in the US) in 2006, with almost 280,000 miles (he drove the car a lot in highways), and the engine was still in pretty good shape: no oil dripping or anything, and it didn't need any major maintenance at that point...

How I miss my grey 1990 Nissan Stanza back in 2001 that also had automatic/powered options like the front seat belts, and all of the windows.
I also love the ding sound that it made.
The foreign countries back in the 90's really produced some great cars that also had their own unique look, and great on gas as well.
Even when I had a 1985 burgundy Toyota Camry in '98, that also had automatic/powered options, $10 would fill up the gas tank, and lasted a week to a week, and a half.
    **sighs**
    Those were the days.

I sold it in 2004 to a friend for $1000 with over 300000km... didn't smoke, needed nothing... he drove it for 3 years and didn't have to do anything but brakes and tires and he sold it for 1000dollars... one the best cars my family ever owned.

this car was transformed into the nissan Altima for model year 1993. The Stanza has a peppy 4 cyl engine. The only issue with this car is fuel economy. It's close to that of a small 6 cylinder. This car is very comfortable and rather good looking when kept in excellent condition.

@sparky8619 Regulation, all cars without airbag after 1990 had to have automatic seatbelts, then you have 5 mph bumpers and of course chimes for pretty much everything. LHD how ever isn't an American thing though.
It's not just the US though, regulation found in most other countries require rear fog lights (think only some European cars have it in the US, Volvo does at least), adjustable height for low beams if they aren't automatic and now daytime running lamps.

@benpinter1988 Is it in that burgundy color? I have a 1996 Avalon in the same color and I have to keep it waxed and garaged all of the time to keep the paint from fading. If it's not too bad yet and you still have enough clear coat, you could try getting it buffed. That helped out my paint a lot.
