I just wanna say you are hands down the best chasing cars talent. It's not just your secondary knowledge but your attention to detail like the FONT and commentary on design as well as everyday usability. I hope you go far mate and are utilised well with CC.
absolutely agree re: Polestar's centre display. It strikes the perfect balance of good design and layout, and responsiveness. I yearn for tactile AC buttons, but in lieu of that, this is the best electronic only interpretation I've seen so far.
It's hard to answer some of the questions at the end because whilst it starts at 80K, when it's optioned up to something that's actually premium equipped it's then suddenly north of $100K on the road. that's big $. . and that's just for the RWD which is quite slow for those sort of $ also.. To configure it as seen in this vid: DM with the nice wheels (really like those wheels) and the big brakes (i.e perf packagE) it's 120k+ .. I mean, wowsers You can't even talk about half the cars mentioned as 'competition' in the guise it's tested here.
Has to be one of the best reviews/reviewers I've seen on the channel. Love this car and the sustainability factors and not having leather seats but still getting ventilated & heated seats. Would you class this as a GT car then? How does the centre console compare to the Polestar 2? Being tall I've found the P2 centre console makes the drivers seat feel very enclosed feeling. I couldn't afford the top spec with sport pack but a lower spec and RWD only possibly via a novated lease and won't be buying a Tesla ever thanks to their CEO mainly but have never felt very attracted to their cars even without his antics.
Great review, certainly thought provoking and making me think about a shift away from my Tesla…! Hard to call it a premium brand - it’s a challenger for sure. Hopefully in ten years time we will be able to tell…
Its probably the most handsome European masquerading Chinese owned and chinese built car, tkough thr missing rear window is an oddity and may polarise many.
I'm buying my first BEV now. Simply love Polestar but, as with many other brands with a pure EV portfolio, I think they will run in red numbers for a number of years. Given that Volvo dividended out the shares and it is now up to the market to fund the business, I fear bankruptcy. I don't want to end up in a Fisker situation...😢
Great car. Won’t buy one. Take a look at the share price. Until they start shifting volume they are an almost sure bet to go, and soon. Hope they survive but I wouldn’t bet my money on it. Geely has other projects they seem to want to push.
This car could be had for $43k AUD in China we are getting ripped. Why does every bloody SUV needs to drive like a sports car in your reviews!?!? any less than concussion inducing suspension is "not well tuned for Australian roads".
Love the ridiculously priced options which makes it a true euro priced car. Unfortunately it’s all Chinese and there is much better cars for a lot less.
Polestar are delusional if they think they are competing with Porsche - Polestar doesn't even carry as much brand cache as their Volvo stablemate - not just here in Australlia - anywhere in the world. If you get the base model with an acceptable stereo and matrix headlights you're getting enough change from $100k for 2 de-caf soy lattes in Melbourne - way overpriced for a chinese made & 1/2 chinese designed EV with what is bordering on unacceptable efficiency and sub-standard infotainment system.
As a former Tesla driver I had three cars for choice: Porsche Macan, Tesla Model S and Polestar 4. I had chosen the Polestar 4: Cheaper, more quality Interieur, and in my mind the most beautiful large series car I‘ve ever seen - inside and outside. And it drives perfect - I really love it.
Wish you wouldn’t call it a European car. It’s owned by a Chinese company and completely built in China. Design is done in Europe yes but you need to be accurate.
If it’s designed in Europe, its DNA is European. That makes it a European car. Were BMWs that were built in South Africa considered a South African brand?! What does it matter where the bits and pieces are assembled - the end result is so much better in every respect than home-grown Chinese offerings as to make the assertion laughable.
"4" means it's already 4th generation after "2" and "3", it also means if you bought Polestar 2 or 3, they are electronic junk now. If you buy a 4 you bought a future junk
You lost me at people not buying a car because the CEO is not inclusive. What an idiotic thing to say. Buys a media platform so people on both the left and the right get to have their say instead of one side of the political spectrum being de-platformed and censored. Why not keep your reviewing to the car instead of talking about political things that you obviously have no idea about?
Problem is he is correct! Research has shown that a portion of Teslas recent drop in sales growth is related to the CEO. Think about it. Do hard right conservatives love electric cars? Of course not? Lefties are his base and he is alienating them. CEOs should be seen but not heard!
Amazing car. I just moved from a bmw to this and it really is something else. The interior is amazing.
This man knows cars, handsdown, best reviewer on UA-cam
Great review, thanks. I’m in the unfortunate position of being a Tesla owner totally embarrassed by its CEO & consider considering an alternative.

Ponch’s power stance every time he faces the camera is hilarious.

6:00 Why would one turn off the lane keeping assistance?
Interesting that you find P3 more sporty than this. I'd never driven one yet but it would seem the 4 should be more sporty and nimble.
Ponch is good at this. Great review.
I does come in gold.
I love it! I drive it’s brother, the Zeekr001 Privilege. Almost the same, other looks. Amazing cars, both of them!
Great review, certainly thought provoking and making me think about a shift away from my Tesla…! Hard to call it a premium brand - it’s a challenger for sure. Hopefully in ten years time we will be able to tell…
At least it’s not founded on bigotry and unfounded generalization.

Yep, wish cars nowadays came in a colour....

They just need to fix the SW and it’d be perfect.

cheapest I see on their site is 83.751k! without adding extras, seems a bit pricey for the single motor! Na thanks.

Polestar will be lucky to survive through 2025. Sales are abysmal world wide. At some point someone will get sick of burning cash.
So many equivalent "full Asian" cars for much less money. European EV styling is mimicking Asian styling anyway.
Love the ridiculously priced options which makes it a true euro priced car. Unfortunately it’s all Chinese and there is much better cars for a lot less.
No auto parking unlike in many other premium cars
Love the look of it, but no rear window is so needlessly stupid.
An otherwise balanced review spoiled by insertion of political opinion at 17:15.
Its the in thing to have a go at Musk at the moment if you are a media type. Its lame AF.
Polestar are delusional if they think they are competing with Porsche - Polestar doesn't even carry as much brand cache as their Volvo stablemate - not just here in Australlia - anywhere in the world.

Does it matter?
Buick Envision is an 'American car' despite being designed and built in China too.
@@naivoj122 honesty does.
@@alexandermoore2982 yes but it’s an American owned company.
