I bought the orange donuts a couple months ago almost exclusively because of this video, and I can't believe how uncomfortable I found them to be on the Porta Pro headband. Enough so that the donuts went to rest forever in a drawer. Until last night. I saw a post on the VE Facebook group with somebody using a KSC75 and the donuts on a different headband, maybe the KPH40 or something similar. I have the ol' Parts Express headband and had a eureka moment. My problem with the Porta Pro headband and the donuts wasn't the sound, it was the fit and feel. Really didn't jive with me. Using a much looser headband like the PE headband works WAY better for me. I am a fan of the OG Yaxi feel and sound, and the VE foams are close enough in both regards. The donuts are just not great for me on the Porta Pro band, but now I'm digging them with the looser fit. Thanks for the video!
@@nohopestage At least you know they are real, market is poluted with fake portas, sporta are slightly louder, due to more db,more comfortable than porta,i like them more than porta, plus with sporta you can adjust headband, overall sporta is good product but not so much popularized like portas, personal prefrence...
I bought a Koss PP aftermarket band replacement for my Ksc75. Can't wait to use it! I heard the ksc75 blow the Porta Pros out of the water, when it comes to sound quality.
@@sweetdisappointmentpie489 how was it then? I have the ksc75 and I'm thinking about doing the same thing, I like the clips but I feel like I'm missing the headband experience, plus if they add more pressure and bring more bass to the front I think it would really be worth it
So - I've gone and bought the orange pads for the KSC75 on your recommendation... now the noob question - which side is the back and which side is supposed to be in contact with the ears? I assume the back is the side with the thicker rim to hold them in place, but I really can't tell for sure - any help will be appreciated.
OK - so I've played around with them and settled on an orientation. You are right about the sound! More bass but still retains the clarity of the mids and highs without becoming as warm as the kph30is. That said, they don't sit as well on my ears nor on the drivers as well as the Yaxi pads....SOOOOOO I've just ordered a circle cutting tool and will be cutting a hole in my Yaxi pads to see what happens.... I'm hoping for magic...
Update: 4 pairs of Yaxi pads sacrificed I'll cut to the chase (punintended) - the sweet spot is to cut a 2.3cm diameter hole in the centre of the Yaxi pads. No bigger no smaller.... bigger causes the pads to slip off while walking, smaller doesn't deliver the sound alterations Do that and you'll get similar bass boost and punch to the VE pads. Slightly more space and air in the sound from the driver being held further away from the ears by the thicker Yaxis. The VE sound is slightly warmer overall and fuller (possibly even congested) through the kids but I'm splitting hairs. The Yaxis look better... much better!
@@reflection1119 Thanks for that information, is it an NT circle cutter? I definitely want to try this, I realised full yaxi pads on KSC75 drivers are quite veiled after switching back to stock pads.
@@JonnyMorgan18 sorry I'm not sure what an NT circle cutter is, but to describe what I used, it looks like a compass with a spike on one tip for the centre, a blade on the other tip, and an in-built ruler to set the diameter measurement.
Just got Yaxis reds, and FADING in less than a month of minor use. Absolutely terrible imho, and I'm quite shocked at this. A big fault if you are buying for the flair of them as much as the comfort. Do these fade at all?
Hello, Could you tell me if you know there is a different between Yaxi foam pads and Koss replacement foam pads? Are Yaxi pads really that good? Or, are Koss replacement foam pads no less than the Yaxi pads? Thank you!
Koss replacement pads are super thin!!! Yaxi Pads are much thicker and increase comfort + detail in the audio!! only thing about Yaxis is that the color tends to fade quickly, so i recommend getting pads from Dekoni instead (can be found on amazon) although they do have less color options. Either way I would HIGHLY suggest getting Yaxi’s or similar type headphones over the koss stock pads. trust me. you will never go back!
@@himalayakadari6613 I prefer the thinner pads tbh. But my favorite pads for the porta pros have been the Venture Electronics pads with the cut-out in the center

They are the Yaxi killers. Incredible sound improvement and ultra comfortable and breathable

Venture electronics seems to have disappeared from the face of this earth. Do you have any new links?
Aliexpress
PORTA PRO is the black headphones with Orange pad for information
The venture link will not work on my mobile devices or PC.

Which earpads would the koss kph30i clears benefit from if I find the stock ones uncomfortable?
I'd say probably the standard round pads, or the donut pads

How do donut pads affect the porta pro sound?
Can both headbands be fitted to kph30i?
Assuming your using the ear hook, will the donut foam pads perform the same? Comfort and sound wise

how do the orange donut pads fit so perfectly around your ksc75x's? mine look kinda stretched from the cable and squished making them look sorts ugly.
