i have the 650 and akg k701, both are great. Akg are a bit harder to learn but feel a bit more quality wise. Sennheiser feels kinda cheap but is very comfy and the sound is on point.

I bought the HD 820 and also the HDV 820 Headphone DAC. I also have the HD 800 S. So far listening with a Valhalla 2 the HD 820 sounds a little sharp on the mid tones. I am waiting for the HDV 820 to arrive and listen to the HD 820 on that specific Sennheiser DAC/Amp. If the HD 800S sounds better I will return the HD 820 headphones.

I used to 9500's to drift off to sleep for 5 years until I broke them. I ripped off the old pads and put angled leather pads on them. Then bam they had deep bumping clean bass. I loved them. hello chuckolatte, you look like man who can help me. Iam in trouble with my koss porta pro. I have theese many years and had them connected to many devices. most of the time it was mp3 player iRiver wich was awsome, then came smart mobile, it was comfy and also little worse sound, but just a little. then all companies leave the jack3,5 and iam still in love with my porta pro. so i go to store and buy recomended dongle from apple, this usbc-jack3,5 thing. and sound is worse! again! So every step from iriver is worse and worse. Today i found iriver, I plug in my porta pro and BAM! this sound is crazy! its perfectly balanced, i hear so much more from every track. now tell me. how can i get this from my combination porta pro + google pixel 8a. wich dongle you recomend or! it is sollution switch to those new porta pro utility? In my opinion the sound quality from devices droping down

M40x is my reference headphone, maybe not perfect but a yardstick to compare others. The 50xBT2 is close, but needs a tiny boost in the bottom octave, and a tiny cut at the very top end. Both have outstanding midrange clarity, not much between them. Interestingly, I don't use either for general listening, as I prefer a more laid back and cozy sound when I'm not paying attention but just casually listening.

for me the r70x is as wide sounding with its soundstage as the hd800s somehow

LCD-X to this date after trying 555 headphones still the best for me, but weight and comfort makes me want to take them off and just switch to my airpods...

LCDX - man do I love these! I used to have Arya Stealth, but the crazy peaky treble was too much for me. LCDX - smooth, buttery, perfect to my ears...

3:31 I changed the headband on the LCDX with the carbon fiber replacement..not much weight difference..but more comfortable clamp 😎

Excellent review. I own probably most Airy headphones (ADX5000) it coasts 7X more than HD600 but when i jump from ADX5000 to hd600 i don’t feel, that i lose treble airiness, it is not spacious as ADX5000 but treble is still airy and enjoyable.

Nice try to make customers spend more. Mid-fi is Sennheiser HD600, HD560S or Audio Technica R70X. And those are the highest bang for buck headphones in the history of audio. Just because there are cars that cost 500k that doesn't make a 100k car a medium-priced car.

As long as you're just using THX amp you never know their true potential.

One big big advantage of HD800 - it is also perfect for tubes. For OTL amplifier. That can change the sound like very much. Where’s the lcd x and Arya Stealth - cannot be driven by tubes, only solid state

I think the craziest part about this whole comparison.. is that I got my Arya Stealth new from aliexpress for $425. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, especially since it's being compared to these true $1000+ headphones without being the same price. I will say, however, it's a small upgrade over my HD58X when both are properly amped.

I bought these headphones, but I can’t connect them to the phono output of my Amplifier, no sound comes out. I have a doubt that they cannot be connected to the amplifier. Is it?

I agree with all but when I ran sub bass tracks on my 8XX they could not reproduce the lowest sounds in the track (check out, "For The Hennys" compilation for awesome sub, sub bass tracks). It was just not there. Love your videos. Thanks.

Mid-fi? damn! at one point all these cans were considered endgame... From my experience I'd consider anything above these (price wise) to be a side/diagonal grade... plenty of diminishing returns above the 1-2k price range... Thus, a great comparison nonetheless!

Your terms are all wrong. Summit-fi is the most expensive stuff. Sus, LCD-4, Utopia, Immanis, AB1266 and the like. Certainly not 600 bucks Arya Stealths lol.

Have you tried the 490 pros yet? They are honestly super underrated. I’ve owned all 3 of these headphones and prefer the 490s

My shp9500s broke so I picked these up, where I live they're only like 20 bucks more expensive. Very impressed tbh, i used to bring the bass up slightly and drop the treble on the 9500s to dial things in, and these seem to deliver exactly what I'd try to get out of the 9500s without tweaking them lol

Had both of them, but sold the Sundara's. Both The Sundara's were just less fun to listen to. Detailed, but too polite for my tastes, less of a soundstage as well. The X2HR are good enough to last me a long time.

fedelio are expensive here but idk which one either 9500 or 9600 but i do like myself some bass but i also know some mid range are getting pull over for bass in 9600 and may i know does that eq setting you gave to fix this problem from the bass taking the mid range? or should i just buy shp9500 and do the eq setting for it to increase the bass?

I love mine the issue I have is on the app when the eq is on the volume drops a lot. Overall they are my do headphones Bluetooth for me is just for multipurpose. I would love to see a set of these come out with anc and more Bluetooth volume in general.
