      Thanks so much Daz :-D the humidity here in Northern Ireland is so high in Winter with all the rainfall we get, and the dehumidifier really works it magic at keeping the air in the polytunnel much drier, Hans and I wish we could live in there ourselves for the Winter haha, thanks so much Daz for your fantastic friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to England and Singapore for a wonderful afternoon and evening ahead XXXX

    This seems to be a great find for you guys!!! And giving off heat an added bonus!! Probably saves a little on the power bill. I'm sure it's cheaper to run the dehumidifier than the heater. And every minute you don't have to use and pay for , 1500w? Is a good thing!!! I'm kinda lucky that the wood stove acts as a dehumidifier. It stays 40% or so. Very dry. The little machine looks like it's very well made. All the settings. And air movement in more than just one direction. All good stuff!!!😀👍 A great device for wet winters!!! Thanks for showing this machine again!!! A lot of people out there in wet climates could use this!! From Morris park in the Ozarks, to across the Emerald isle, have a great day guys!!! Peace,Love,Plants✌💖🌵🌺🌴🌻🌲🌹🌳🌷🌿🌸🍀💐😀👍

      Thanks so much Clyde :-D yes this dehumidifier costs a fraction of the price to run compared to the heater, and because it has an on off inbuilt system it switches itself off when it has reached the right humidity, you have an amazing set up with the wood stove as the heat helps to dry the air and keep the humidity low in your greenhouse while giving off heat too, thanks so much Clyde for your wonderful friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Deb and all the pets and plants all lots of love and happiness and PEACE, LOVE, PLANTS and PLANT POWER to Morris Park in the Ozarks for a wonderful new week XXXX

    Hello Lyn, what an excellent video! You and Hans are so high-tech, I love it! You have the perfect setup for the polytunnel. The heater and dehumidifier work great hand in hand with each other. I really enjoyed this video. Sending you and Hans peace and love for a terrific Thursday from your friend in Georgia!

    You should attach the dehumidifier hose to a hvac pump. That way you don’t have to worry about emptying the water on a daily basis.

    Unless cacti are going to be overwintered in a house attached conservatory, much like the one you used to have back in your old house in Waterford; a dehumidifier is a must in much of these isles. South East England and the channel islands are probably the only places in the UK where it is dry enough year round to get away with a closed environment, and not get sky high humidity and condensation.
    In Somerset it is undoubtedly drier than further north but it is still wet much of the time this time of the year so I installed one two years ago to beat having to keep opening and closing all the doors and windows. Rice bags and large quantities of open silica works for a time in small areas, but unless atmospheric humidity goes down they will eventually become saturated and no longer be able to absorb moisture. So ultimately it is not a long term solution.
    November was surprisingly dry this year, it did rain as it always does but there was quite alot of settled days and spells too. My greenhouse hit the high teens on several days earlier in the month. Fortunately, it was not high enough to disrupt dormancy. At this time of the year now, weak sun will only shine on the greenhouse for about 3 hours so that keeps evapotranspiration and evaporation rates low. Thanks for showing your machine!.

      Thanks so much James :-D thats fantastic that you installed a dehumidifier two years ago too, they really work magic at bringing down the humidity, and they really are a big bonus in our climate especially in the Winter cold months, November was so dry here too and incredibly mild with some really nice warm sunny days, but the past week the temperatures have dropped like a ton of bricks and its gone really cold now especially at nights, the good news is in just three weeks time its going to be the shortest day and then the days start getting longer again, roll on Spring I say haha, Thanks so much James for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Somerset for a fantastic afternoon and evening ahead XXXX

    OH, I LOVE DUHUMIDIFIERS!!! I've used them religiously for the last 15 years, I always keep it set to 50% and use the Ioniser setting too. I use the water collected to water all my cactus and succulents, which I tested first to see if it was safe to use 😄 I have it running inside the house everyday and it cycles on/off as needed! They are fantastic, that's great how it has really took the humidity down in the poly tunnel for you, its amazing what difference it makes for the health of the plants. I love those 3 temperature/humidity gadgets you have!👍🏻😊🌵

      I use a desiccant dehumidifier with the ion filter. I did wonder if the water collected was pure enough to water orchids and such. What tests did you use on the water?

    • @CactusCove
      @CactusCove 2 роки тому +1

      @@ryecatcher1670 I got a TDS Meter.
      A TDS meter is used to indicate the Total Dissolved Solids in a solution, usually water. It measures in PPM (parts per million). My water from my desiccant dehumidifier was just right for example to use on, carnivorous (which need about 50PPM), orchids and epiphytic cacti, plus I use it for all my plants too.

      @@CactusCove Thank you so very much for your informed reply 👍 I run my dehumidifier for 6/8 hours per day so collect a good amount of water. I'll no longer need to buy distilled water now...

      So happy you love to use Dehumidifiers too Claire :-D they work so well at keeping the air drier for our plants, and the collected water is perfect for the plants too, I wish I had bought a dehumidifier years ago, we have them in the house too as our climate is so wet and damp in Ireland and UK, they really do work magic, thanks so much Claire for your wonderful friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Sea for a wonderful new week XXXX
