This is some great information. Hopefully I'll have a greenhouse someday, so I can employ this brilliant technique.

Wow Brad, what a difference in climates. Your winters in Western Canada are 100% humidity and you have to dry out your greenhouse. In the middle of the us, my winters are relatively dry like Bret noted and we have to add humidity. It's all about location isn't it. Great video.

Hi Brad I finally broke down and bought a dehumidifier today but on the box it says low temp operation I'm wondering if that means that it doesn't blow out a lot of hot air or does it mean that it will work in low temperatures - any help would be appreciated :)

Mine works fine when it is 50f in there in the morning. I can check and see what the air temp is that is coming out of my unit at that temp, it isn't 120f ( like when the temp is 80f in the Greenhouse) but it is warmer than the air temp by quite a bit. What brand and size did you get?

+Brads Greenhouse & Gardening I was going to send you a pic but it won't work in the UA-cam comments but it is a Haier 70 pint electronic dehumidifier with built in pump. I bought it at Lowe's

Nice, mine is a 50 pint with the gravity feed drain only. My AC unit that I use says it won't work below 16 Celsius outside temperature either but it works like a hot Damn even when the temperatures outside are much lower than that. Sometimes it will be 15 Celsius outside and 30 inside so I need the AC running. If it doesn't work for you I'm sure Lowes has a good return policy anyways. Just make sure to keep your humidifier running, I 70 pint is going to take a lot of humidity out of the air.

Sorry if that last comment had a lot of grammar errors I'm using Google voice instead of typing haha

+Brads Greenhouse & Gardening so I guess you're saying the higher number on the pint means the more water it will take out of the air? we don't have as high of humidity outside as you do so do you think maybe I should take it back and get a lower pint dehumidifier?

What can I do with a cold frame mini two tear tent? its always 70 to 90% humidity and temp is around 10c and 0c in the tent and it's not a walk in tent.

My greenhouse will only stay at around 50% relative humidity so this won't work for me. Seems like it works well for you though.
