Your dad has some skill with that skid steer rolling up the rubber. I thought you were going for a ride there for a second when you went to hold it down haha
Years ago had a odd job: cutting a hundred steel wall truck tractor tires into smaller pieces and removing them from their rims. Had the same power tools as you, plus more, and had the same issues where none worked ideally. In the end I found that using an extendable bypass lopper to be the fastest & easiest way to get the tire off the rim and cut the rubber into small pieces. It was faster. There was no smoke. No tools vibrating like crazy. and overheating Just snip snip snip. The steal in your rubber is thicker so it would probably be the end of the loppers for you. Something to consider in the future.
I could not be more excited to see your new house go up. You have worked so hard doing farming, UA-cam and selling merch to be able to make your dream come true. Awesome!
I have Anti fatigue matts in front of my kitchen sink and stove. I bet your ladies like that new rubber just as much. The foundation is starting to look really good, pouring the footings is exciting as there is no where to to go but up after that.
Yes, $5 a square, great Christmas present😜. Then new rubber mat looks really good quality , dry cows say thank you. Basement dig will be done in no time now.
Always looking after the herd. The new mat looks good. Hopefully the rock removal in the new basement doesn't put you to far behind with the building of the new house. I like the cows with entirely white heads. Very cool. Stay safe
What's it like working with your dad every day? I doubt if my dad and I could cooperatively work on something like the two of you do. Also, that rock needed some TNT.
Oh yes I remember as a boy visiting my grandmother down in mountain Grove Missouri those cold and Chrisp mornings and helping with the chores around her farm Eric thank you so much for all that you do happy holidays to you and yours stay safe from Missouri Jeremy
I have used a circular saw with a crosscut blade. The wires need to be small for the wood blade to nip them. Need someone pulling the cut off piece away so the blade doesn’t bind. Not an easy job!
The digging on the basement was pretty difficult because of the rocks, but they are getting it there. The new rubber matting you and your dad put in the dry cow barn was tough to do, but you got it done. I'm sure the cows are going to benefit from that process. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend.
Hoof health is a big deal at dairy farms. Cows aren't ment to walk on concrete all day so it can really bruise up their hoofs and cause ulcers and stuff like that.
Another great video Eric. Nice to see progress on your basement dig. Smart move having 9’ walls in your basement & presumably in the entire home build. Good to see you using safety equipment ie ear plugs, face shield etc. You’re so fortunate to be able to work with your dad.
Going with the deeper basement means great usable space in the future for a family room or extra bedrooms. Good idea Eric.Do you still want to sell the rubber in one foot pieces after seeing how easy it is to cut lol. Great video as usual, thanks till next time.
Helped a friend of the family do this when I was young, its hard and dirty work! We wore out so many drills drilling new holes to fix the new rubber to the floor.
Not sure when this was filmed, but pretty sure the forecast for that area is cold cold and colder. I would think that holding on the concrete might be a good idea.
I'm always astonished about how much work there is to be running a dairy farm and how many skills you have to have to do. Good video editing and commentary as well. Best wishes and keep up the good work.
Great video! Thank you for sharing. It was a beautiful morning on the farm. And looks aren’t everything I know but the new mixer tractor combo looks great!!
I remember you asking HVAC for the new house. Fan/duct system with 2 stage blower and sealed and insulated ducts has advantages of lower cost, ease of use and install. 👍
@@dhenschel4 maybe not needed. Passive heating/cooling through inefficient ducts can be improved upon. Sealing seams and insulating ducts is a low cost diy project. Just duct tape the seams/connections and wrap with flexible insulation wrap. Depending on the use of the basement add ducts as desired. This sealing and insulation provides efficiency and accuracy of the hvac. To each his own.
Note: Cows have the same emotional intelligence as dogs. The two cows that wanted to talk to you when you were explaining/showing the old rubber mats were doing the friend-or-foe test. They like to be acknowledged ;)
metal cutting circular saw blade may have cut thru that pad. And next time when you have overlap, raise up the pad about 5 feet from the overlapped end to make that end snug, nail that end down, then have the skid steer push out the rest of the pad.
You can buy special rescue angle grinder cutting discs that might be good for cutting mats in future. They are designed to cut everything. Glass, wood, metal, concrete rubber. Just saw them in shop the other day,
Great video as always. What kind of barn was the heifer barn on the other farm used for? You don't see many 2 story block buildings around. Just wondered if you might know.
Our neighbor has rubber mates just like what you have they replace them every two or three years gets all torn up slits and cracks just like some of the gates all bent out of shape replaced. Can’t wait to see the house being start to finish . Love Diet Coke and milk chocolate.
Nine foot high basement? What are you doing down there. A. Playing basketball. B. Repairing equipment, or C.new heffer barn. I cut old tires using carbide tip blade in circular saw.
The hidden can makes a return!!
Kinda surprised it wasn't a chocolate milk!
Your family must be so excited for a new home. You guys deserve it for all the work you do.
Your dad has some skill with that skid steer rolling up the rubber. I thought you were going for a ride there for a second when you went to hold it down haha
Hahaha I busted out laughing at the rubber mat sale That was good and it probably will sell hahah
Good call on sticking with the 9' basement. You will appreciate having it!
Especially if they wind up running HVAC ducting under the main floor.
@@woodhonky3890 if going with mini-split unit, won't need ducting work.
I find myself smiling ear to ear watching your video. Chuckled when you found that pop.
I will never stop loving when a soda shows up in your vids. No matter how dumb the context is, sometimes the dumber the better.
Or...the "surprise" Clover Dairy chocolate 🐄🐄🐄 juice👀🤣🙂🙃😆🙂
Nothing like a steamy wagon full, first thing in the morning!!!
Smart move with chiseling the concert. Thinking outside of the box.
I believe the mat inspectors were pleased with the job. Yall be safe
Had a great laugh when you found the can of pop! Well done, love those “Easter Eggs” in your videos.
super upgrade on barn,, you're so kind to your animals,,,A 9" foot ceiling is a must for the basketball court for kids...
Glad you have time to fix the little things.

You're like a kid in a candy store about the house. Wishing you all the best. Merry Christmas to you and all your family. God Bless.!!
You two did a great job of rolling that rubber flooring. And “No, thanks”. Don’t want any of it, but thanks for the offer. Love your videos!

Love how the cows have to go inspect and check out the work after it's all done.
I love the hidden Dr. Pepper! Wonder how long it had been under that old rubber mat??? 🤣🤣
You farmers work hard! We all benefit from your hard work. Thankyou!

Seems like the work never ends.
I love seeing the cows' curiosity and friendliness 🙂
9 ft ceiling just installed... looks way roomier... don't think u gonna regret it even tho extra cost
Them conveyor belts/ anti fatigue mats cut pretty decent with a demolition saw, but just like the grinder, a smokey mess.
😂😂 that selling the rubber to the fans is truly funny

I'll be ordering it short and fill the ends if I ever buy that mat. Great content
I thought I seen a dew in the basement , look cold still ??
Hope an pray you and family have a blessed and a Merry Christmas, keep Christ in Christmas
Deeper is always better for a basement. Looking good!
For attracting rubber you put a good glue clamp on it.
Helped a friend of the family do this when I was young, its hard and dirty work! We wore out so many drills drilling new holes to fix the new rubber to the floor.
It would be so hard for me not to get super attached to the cows lol, they were hilarious when you were explaining the rubber mat situation.
Checkout gable belting next time. Great guys there.
That's some serious rubber matting. I can believe it's extremely heavy. Good job.
Great awesome video Eric
I worked in a rubber conveyor plant where we made that type of belt. We cut them with a 14 inch concrete saw.
All the "inspectors" giving their seal of approval after the rubber install....
Grate video Eric the house is going along nice .
Wishing you the best on your new Home and Merry Christmas That did not look like a bottle of milk under that mat to me :)
if you hang a piece of the old rubber belting in your new house ill buy a few feet to remember it by as well!
It's all coming together. Really great, gonna be an interesting build can't wait.

an awesome vide Eric and dad. Really love the way you 2 work together. Thank you guys
Jigsaw with a metal blade works wonders with rubber.
Thanks for the video Eric! Great care for your family and your herd! Well done!
After your house is built over your basement, you may want to have it tested for radon, since you have all of that rock around.
I'll second that idea on home radon check!
i dont know why i like your stupid soda gags so much. dont stop eric.
Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year 🎉! God bless you and your family Eric.
I remember you asking HVAC for the new house. Fan/duct system with 2 stage blower and sealed and insulated ducts has advantages of lower cost, ease of use and install. 👍
They spec'd a 9 food basement ceiling - likely for an improved basement. Will need heat so insulated ducts may not be needed.

12:36 might be my favorite moment ever on the channel

Then the few cows...having smelled the burnt rubber/steel of the mat fitting/trim process...were like, " we're outta' here!"
Interesting.
You could cut the decent parts of the mat into squares and use it on your silage pit.

We use a demo saw to cut that rubber. Its not fun but its the best way we found

Classic with the soda XD
Another great video 👍🏼
Love ya work ol mate. Always great videos and your work ethic is fantastic. Keep up the great work
Well done guy's
😂The ladies’ Dr. Pepper stash has been discovered . . . AGAIN !!!🤣
Congratulations on your new home in the future , enjoy , have fun , stay safe !
Roll it up, put it in a tube, hit with NOS, you have a rocket motor, cows in space!
I now appreciate how easy grass feed farming is compared to barn based. So many extra jobs.
Could anyone else smell the rubber burning when Eric was using the angle grinder on it?
If you haven’t already I would suggest heated basement floors. Help heat the house and keep some of the mold n mildew away
Thanks again for sharing. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Think those were more like mountain tops than rocks! We have the same blue rocks here harder than cement!
There's always something to do on the dairy besides feed the cows and milking the cows. Nice work!
Love your videos. Great job.
Do you seeing any difference between injecting vs spreading manure? Do different crops respond better to injecting vs spreading?
business mindset always💰💰💰
great video eric great job you and dad god bless

You and your soda, Eric 😆😆😆
Concrete cutoff saw with an abrasive blade not diamond. That’s how you cut those belts.
I hate all those rocks in the basement; and, the Dr Pepper stones in the barn! Oh well. 😂
Nine foot high basement? What are you doing down there. A. Playing basketball. B. Repairing equipment, or C.new heffer barn. I cut old tires using carbide tip blade in circular saw.
😂😂😂 I’m sure there will be a few chocolate milks found while digging the basement
Excellent videos enjoy the holidays
8:30 Eric's Buster Keaton impersonation. This was definitely a Dr. Pepper job.
I learn many things from you, and I value your health and safety. Your brother Mohammed is from Libya.
