Moove dem Hooves ladies ♫ lol 'Moove dem Hooves' sounds like dance music band from the Netherlands .. Please Somebody remix the audio of Erics cows mooing and cooing. that would be awesome! I'll help.
I’m going to start a you tube channel. Not because I want a you tube channel but because the way you appear to compress time. You built a silo in about an hour of video time. Almost effortlessly it seems. On this video, the skid steer moves very quickly and accurately, I might add, all without running into anything. Lastly, “The Neighbor “ 😂 I would like to be as productive in a short amount of time on my dairy as you are….😂 All kidding aside, this Utah dairyman enjoys your work. Thank you…
It is really amazing to see behind the milk containers we buy in the stores! To me, it cant be much more “green” to be a dairy farmer than what is shown in your videos! The farmers of all kinds, that provide the foods of our existence are so undervalued it’s astounding! It makes no sense that the naysayers get so much unjustified publicity! What do they think will happen to civilization, when they legislate farming from existence?
Have you ever considered installing a bubbler system in your manure tanks? I saw Tomb Pemberton’s video on it (over in England) and it works very well at keeping it stirred up all the time. He said he did not need professionals to come mix it, and when they had in the past it only lasted a short while, where as now he can haul whenever he wants to, it is all ways ready.
I’m from an hour away in Chester County, PA. Recently became obsessed with farming and i’m glad i found someone in PA with a big operation! It would be awesome to come out there and learn everything about farming
Lots of work keeping your farm running in a orderly fashion, not to mention the man power. Eric I see your dad is a hard worker. That must be where you get some of that positive and dedication . I still enjoy each video you post, Thank you. Tom in Minneapolis
Driving up 322 from East Earl, your new silo looks like a sky scrapper! You can see it for such a long way away and is so high compared to everything in the county haha
Work, work, work….never is done on the farm !!! Cows are the priority a your place. Great video, thanks for sharing with us. Happy Easter to your families.
I remember the ice storm in PA in 1996(?). Power was out for much of the central/north and northeastern part of the state (commonwealth). Will your robot feeding system require a new, more powerful generator if you lose power? Love the black and white cows contrasting with the green grass.
One of the fun things I love watching, when the cows kick up their heals and get put on new bedding and grass. I'll be putting mine on new grass in about two to three weeks. You guys sure keep busy with all you do, good luck on the up and coming growing season. I hope you have a good evening and a blessed Easter.
thanks for the quick rundown with the smartex, it is something i have been considering using on my herd. This type of product isn't widely use here in New Zealand, and it's good to hear positive feedback about them
Eric, I live in Northeast Ohio. I am going to come your way sometime. I just want to drive by and see that new silo. It's so tall, I'm assuming you can see it from the road. I hope so. Love your videos and your family's work ethic. I was raised the same way. Good farm living.
The Giant is articulated and has extension capabilities, wow, nice machine. You were pretty cautious driving it and then finished the job in the race car Kubota. The remote health sensors seem to be working. Pretty cool monitoring systems. Your cows are happy!
It is amazing to watch the cattle when they are first turned out. To me it shows a little about their feelings and they are not just dumb animals. I remember when we first brought pea vines home . they would just go nuts when they heard the truck coming with another load.
Love your videos and I love to suggest things to you because you do the pro and con list before you do something….the suggestion list is south facing roof over bunk silos solar panels on top???? One bay dry manure storage????? Larger manure spreader for twice a year dreading dry manure???
Wow, up and working at 4:00 AM to spread 700,000 gallons of manure and milk 180 cows. All before breakfast. I don’t know where you get the stamina to do all that. Thank you.
Good to see you aren't saturated. We've been nonstop rain/snow here in Maine. My manure pit is a quagmire, 16" of snow the other day and more coming. Meanwhile we're busy with maple season. We're headed for the wettest March on record, doubt I'll be spreading any manure in April.
To unlock the bucket, it is the little "knob" behind the big main "knob" that controlls the arm, flick the little one and the pin at the bucket will unlock
It will be interesting to see which side the cows will choose. I’m thinking they’ll mostly still use the old mats. Cows are creatures of habit for sure.
to change to a bucket, you have to turn a lever next to the hydraulic hoses there with the bucket, then there is a small lever inside the cabin that you have to bend a way
I'm curious what the farm did prior to using the Round-Up- type chemicals to kill off the weeds and cover-crops in the fields. What work was involved before the chemicals were used to prepare for planting?
Before Round Up there was Paraquat for burn down. Before that, it was almost entirely tillage, and then a chemical application of pre emergent chemical, or maybe a post emergent chemical application. Before chemicals, it was entirely tillage and cultivation to suppress weeds. Sometimes as many as 8 tillage/cultivation passes each summer. Great question!
It might work diffrently in that Giant loader, but on my mine, I hold the most left button under the steering wheel, and then use the small lever that is behind the big lever to lock and unlock.
In watching these videos, it's struck me that one of the conveniences of farming and animal husbandry is that you don't have to go elsewhere to seek adventure, instead, adventure comes to you. Granted, they may not be headline-grabbing adventures, but they are nonetheless high-risk and of uncertain outcome. Weather alone is one continuous contest, then there are the vagaries of animal health, the complexity of machinery and equipment, the mysteries that plague otherwise routine procedures, and the performance of contractors, just to name a few. You have to envy the men and women who enjoy such advantages while the rest of us have to spend good money just to enjoy a week or two of a more challenging experience. Yup, dairy farming's an Adventureland.
That was quite the buildup of manure. The girls sure are prolific poopers. They dance really well too. A super interesting video today, thanks. Hope you and your family have a very Happy and Blessed Easter
Love your channel. I've watched all your vids but missed the farm truck upgrade lol. I somehow thought you'd do an intro homage to Doug DeMuro, "This!!!!!!!!! is the 20yy ... 3500 4x4" 😎 Happy Easter to you and family ♥
Eric your love and respect for your animals is wonderful. The technology takes out the guess work. I can see that technology moving into humans. Unfortunately it will be an issue for privacy.
It would be interesting to hear from your dad about how he was taught to monitor the cows at your age. Certainly the technology has come a long way? I know things have come along way since 1975 when I took computer programming in HS.
I’m a beef producer and I’ve watched your channel from the beginning. I’m interested in more information regarding the pill that you put in the cows stomach to monitor her health. Brand name and video showing the monitor and such.
Jerseys are still around. There's a channel called TDF Honest Farming that showcases a huge Jersey herd. There are probably other Jersey herds, if you look. Guernseys I'm not sure about.
Hiring out some jobs is way better than making payments, repairs, and paying for the time to do it yourself. A half $ million in equipment for a day or 2 of work every few months is cheaper to hire. Great video, Eric. Do YOU get to sleep on a water bed? 😂😂😂
Those are the precise terms. Not really a crude way of saying either issue. I grew up in the Dairy business, and even using those terms would have made many people leave the breakfast/lunch/dinner table when my Dad and I were discussing those things while we ate. I do agree with your accurate observation. 👍
You need a little trackhoe with a thumb on it you could rip them out and back your trailer in there your bobcat and loaded as you went wouldn't be no problem at all
Watching the cows dance in excitement for new bedding is hilarious. For such large animals they sure do have the moves.
They have the mooooves

Should turn your old silent pits into manure bunkers

You guys take great care of your Cows 👍Modern technology for the Cows. Amazing!!
Nice operation!

Spring has sprung. Lots to do. It will be nice to have the whole herd home soon. Cheers 🇨🇦

My 2nd favorite sign of spring (after robins) is the cows out to pasture!
Happy cows running in a pasture - awesome.
You make it like so easy ❤ and l know it is not. My younger years. we had dairy cows. 🐄 I am 83 now, so enjoy watching you folks 😀

It can be seen from 15 miles away. :)
Enjoyed the cows on the pasture. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us
turn your old silage bunkers into manure bunkers
Will you possibly be using one of your bunkers to store manure when field conditions will not allow you to spread.
Yes that's the plan
Great job making the new water beds, they looked pretty heavy, good teamwork getting it in place. Cows appreciate your work and effort!
Watch that whole scooping section at 2X speed - wow, ZOOM-ZOOM!
The cows look so awesome out in the sun and on the green grass 😊
Thanks, Eric!
we also use smaxtec boluses, on a spring calving herd. they are brilliant
The Giant is articulated and has extension capabilities, wow, nice machine. You were pretty cautious driving it and then finished the job in the race car Kubota. The remote health sensors seem to be working. Pretty cool monitoring systems. Your cows are happy!
Loved seeing the cows get excited to go on the grass hope the new beds work out for u guys
It is amazing to watch the cattle when they are first turned out. To me it shows a little about their feelings and they are not just dumb animals. I remember when we first brought pea vines home . they would just go nuts when they heard the truck coming with another load.
Cows look good and so does the clean barn, how many people help you all ?
awesome video Eric and Dad. So glad y'all are getting alot done before planting season.. Thank you guys
Your time is worth a lot. Anything you can farm out to others is worth it, stress, and in time issues. You take excellent care of your animals. ❤❤❤❤
Love your videos and I love to suggest things to you because you do the pro and con list before you do something….the suggestion list is south facing roof over bunk silos solar panels on top???? One bay dry manure storage????? Larger manure spreader for twice a year dreading dry manure???
Water beds. That's awesome, spoiled cows. Holstein Hilton😊
One thing to consider, once you get the robot feeders going, it may make sense to spread your manure, or atleast part of it.
Great content as always. Clean cows as always. Simple and understandable narrative as always. Thank you so much as always!😊

That is a pretty site seeing the cows go out in the fresh grass.
To unlock the bucket, it is the little "knob" behind the big main "knob" that controlls the arm, flick the little one and the pin at the bucket will unlock
Black and white on dark green is picturesque.
It's so enjoyable seeing the heifers run & frolic like calves!
Thanks again for another one of your interesting videos about your farm, really enjoy them. Happy Easter.🙏🇺🇸
It will be interesting to see which side the cows will choose. I’m thinking they’ll mostly still use the old mats. Cows are creatures of habit for sure.
It's a lever on the right and then a switch on the left side of dash
It makes me happy whenever I see the cows kicking it up on new bedding. I wonder why they do that? Regardless, they always look happy.
to change to a bucket, you have to turn a lever next to the hydraulic hoses there with the bucket, then there is a small lever inside the cabin that you have to bend a way
Always a very interesting video from you on your farm. Thanks for posting to look at how hard you work to keep things running the best you can.

Totally 1990s nostalgia water bed 😂🎉
Shut up I still have a waterbed
It's amazing how technical dairy herd is maintained

Not just an adventure, it's a job. Reverse of the old Navy Recruiting slogan. 😂
Shoutout Earl
I don’t know why the algorithm recommended this video, but a modern dairy operation is fascinating.
thank you,I LEARN so much,from your episodes, I appreciate,all the hard work,it takes,to capture,edit and post these
That was quite the buildup of manure. The girls sure are prolific poopers. They dance really well too. A super interesting video today, thanks. Hope you and your family have a very Happy and Blessed Easter
Good one Eric, looks like you and your dad are very busy.
You animals are so healthy and clean. Nice work

Great Video . . . cows just love getting out in the spring
Happy cows 👍🏻🇨🇦
You take such good care of your cows. Thank you for the upload! ❤
I love to see the cows in the green fields.
Eric your love and respect for your animals is wonderful. The technology takes out the guess work. I can see that technology moving into humans. Unfortunately it will be an issue for privacy.
Loved the video...very interesting.....I like how you are always upgrading your farm....God bless you ❤️🙏🇺🇲
I hadn't heard of twins in cows before. Thanks for sharing that about the one cow near the beginning of the video.
wow - you have data streams! that is a husbandry revolution as big as the invention of the plough.
should be able to get farmer's antibiotic use down emergencies only.
It is always great the first day the cows go out and see how they go crazy
You and your dad work good together. Thank u for the great videos
Just wondering if you have to put any other fertilizer on besides the manure
Yes. They also use liquid fertilizer during planting and after the crop is established.
It would be interesting to hear from your dad about how he was taught to monitor the cows at your age. Certainly the technology has come a long way? I know things have come along way since 1975 when I took computer programming in HS.

Beautiful farm and beautiful girls. God Bless.
Had not seen waterbeds used before. Very interesting video.
Hey guys , love your channel ❤, how many cows do you milk a day? And how many gallons of milk does that come to a week?
@10thgenerationdiaryman Who said hello in the video when you were chasing the girls to the scrape alley @2:41 lol
Is there a dead cow in the manure pile at 5:00? What do you do when an animal dies on the farm?
Looks like sawdust
I use a buffered alcohol solution instead of iodine.
New water beds are great! 👍👏🐄
Love how there is always at least one girl watching you work…
I've heard a lot of different views on the water beds . I've thought about it so I'm looking forward to your opinion.
Nice combining new tech with tried & true techniques
what is the maximum spread width of the manure spreader?
Growing up in the 1960's we often saw Jersey and Guernsey dairy cows. Haven't seen them in years. I wonder what happened to the breeds?
Jerseys are still around. There's a channel called TDF Honest Farming that showcases a huge Jersey herd. There are probably other Jersey herds, if you look. Guernseys I'm not sure about.
@@bjharrison4460 I milk a handful of guernseys but mostly Holsteins
❤ YOU ERIC ❤️

Spreading the straw looks like it does not to bad of spreading
Well spoken Eric, using terms like "metritis" and "retained placenta" rather than other more crude terms.

I grew up in the Dairy business, and even using those terms would have made many people leave the breakfast/lunch/dinner table when my Dad and I were discussing those things while we ate. The skull face cows are really cool looking
Skid Loader all day every day vs. that tell handler.
Eric y’all run a smooth operation. Your new bin needs a big American flag on top of it.. thanks for your good videos, take care.
You Guys are Advanced Technology Excellent Brilliant
You need a little trackhoe with a thumb on it you could rip them out and back your trailer in there your bobcat and loaded as you went wouldn't be no problem at all
Good idea for recycling rubber
You guys should buy Lemken rubin. Extremely good disc.
Happy cows ;)
I love the manure vids!
looking forward to bucket update
“Shout out to Earl”. I know him!
How do they not pop the water beds ????
