wow i almost went the route with piercing my copper line in my basement without any plumbing experience or tools... this is so much simpler thanks diy dad. phew
I have watched hundreds of these "plumb your fridge" tutorials, and this is by far the most informative yet still brief and to the point I seriously cannot fault it really GREAT content. I'm going to attempt this myself following your tutorial will let u know how I go. 🤞
This was amazing and I have the same fridge I’m installing for my mom and you just put my mind at ease! Thank you so much!!
I will be getting my Fridge Tuesday, I was here crazy looking up plumbers, estimating their prices when it is this simple. Thank you.
Awesome!!!! Save some $$$
Excellent video! I'm in the process of buying a house and I want a fancy fridge there's no water line. So glad I found this video. Thanks for sharing!!
TY soo much!! I did it by myself at 60 yrs old!! First timer! Saved $200 plus!! TY soo much! Once I got all the holes drilled, it was smooth sailing!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Thanks for the video, live in a cinder block home in Florida, water lines in the concrete floor, planning a kitchen remodel, moving frig down 10' had no idea I could run it through the cabinets.
I've watched several videos, and this was by far the easiest to follow for this amateur. Now I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Thank you! Thank you! You, made the process, look easier, then I thought & I am 60 yrs old & I know, I can do it, w/ your video. You, saved me a bundle, calling the plumber! 🎉🎉❤❤
Thanks for this simple but thorough tutorial! Made for an easy installation.
Excellent and clear explanation as always!
Thank you!! Most videos show connecting to water with soldering and cutting, thank you for showing how to do a simple sink tap!
These instructions were straight to the point. I know I can do this on my own now. great video
Thank you for your simple instructions, very helpful.
By far the best DIY video for installing an ice maker water line at the cold water supply to sink!!! No plastic and no piercing saddle connectors.
Thanks! The plastic junk and piercing connectors are just asking for problems down the line.
Thank you!! My sink and the placement of the fridge the people that built my duplex apartment decided to put them miles apart and this helps a ton!!
Awesome!
Thank you. This video answered my questions I had before I buy what I need to install the water line to my new refrigerator.
Thanks dad! Looks easier than I thought it would be. Been putting it off for months in our kitchen Reno. I have to go over a doorway, so luckily all of the trim is off right now because we're replacing it. Have to go through a small section of wall near the door - looks like I might have to make clever use of a coat hanger.
I put it off for way too long too!
You are a life saver!! Thank you so much! I am now enjoying my glass of ice cold water!!
Helpful video. I didn't read through all of the comments, but the one drawback to this fitting is no independent shut off for the ice maker/water line. There are fittings available that give you that feature.
Very good point!
What do you mean by no independent shut off for icemaker/water line and what would be the fittings for this feature?
First time homeowner who knows nothing about working on a house and your videos have helped me a bunch and saved me some money. Thanks!
First time home buyer as well and he made that look so simple I subscribed!
Ty much. Needed to know this before we purchase our new fridge this wk!!
Thank you so much for this video, it’s was helpful. I had similar distance to reach my fridge but u explain it well and simple.
Awesome! Thanks!!!
Hell yeah man I appreciate ya. Your video was simple and straight forward. Keep up the videos feller!!
Thank you so much! I was looking for this exact video and you made it extremely helpful and simple for a DIY project.
Nicely explained. And apreciatted. Thanks.
Excellent! Clear and tidy.
I am heading to the hardware store to give this a try, thanks for the helpful video.
thank you! me and my sister were DYING for a fridge like this and now we know! thank you!!
This video is amazing and very helpful. thank you very much.
So easy and we’ll explained!! Thank you!!
Great information, clear and concise.
Very clear and easy instructions....thank you!
Best video on doing this I have seen yet. Just had a plumber leave my house today and refused to do this. Don’t know why. But he did say I could do it myself easily and explained it the way u demonstrated. Maybe because licensed plumbers are not allowed to do it this way. Lol..I am going to try it. Thank you so much for making this video.
That’s awesome! Thank you for the kind words! Best of luck on your project!
Thank You...I was a little worried but now I'm confident I can do this easily enough....my Warden is gonna be happy
Perfect! I am installing new cabinets and moving my fridge. My contractor wanted to hire a plumber to move the water line 2 or 3 feet from the sink to the fridge. I can now do that for the price of the tubing from this video. GREAT JOB!! Saved me $1000!! Good lord what was my contractor thinking!
Thanks! That contractor was trying to figure out how to buy that new boat!
@@DoItYourselfDad Yea!!
My pool is warm and I now actually have water for my fridge dispenser!! Thank you 🎉
That is awesome!
Thanks so much for the video! After watching so many, this is the one that works best for our application. I did have a question. Can you please share the link to the hose clips? I did not see it listed. Thanks so much!
Good job,the clips that you used are called Adel Clips'
Thanks omg I had to edit I did this all by myself your a life saver
Thanks your setup was just like mine!!
Thanks For the Video .... I previously had a Copper set up that was giving me hell . I came across your video , already had a braided water line ... Ran to the hardware store and grabbed the fitting . 20 mins later , I have water coming from my fridge 🤘🏾
Success! Awesome!
Great! Thank you. I am just going to run a line from the kitchen sink at my spa to the foot bath for the clients ionic foot detox. Now I just have to figure out what nozzle I can put at the end of that house so that I can spray it when I want to.
I like how simple and straight forward you make your vids which brings to mind one question: Are you related to the Project Farm guy? Just asking haha
I’ve watched his videos and like his stuff, but no, not related.
Thanks for this! Exactly what I was looking for. In my scenario, I'll be tapping the cold water underneath a guest bathroom sink (inside a cabinet) and then punching through a wall into the garage. Does the braided stainless steel have any potential to have water condensation beading off of it? I don't want to have to worry about the drywall or insulation getting wet.
Thank you so much for this video, it’s was helpful.
Glad we could help!
I greatly appreciate your video!
Thanks, very clear and to the point.
Glad it was helpful!
@DoItYourselfDad thank you!!!! Every other video had me soldering.
Awesome! Glad we could help! Good luck with your DIY.
Awesome! I have the same problem in this centurion home we just moved in... I'm definitely going to attempt this! Thank you much man!
You’re very welcome! Congrats on the new home!
It worked!!! Wife is very happy! Lol
Thanks for taking the time to upload your video once again!! It's people like you that make UA-cam the best thing ever!
Good work!!!!
Happy wife happy life!
Thank you so much for this!!!
Was lost till I seen your video" thanks🤝🏽💯
I am in love with you. Thank you sooooo much 😃. You just saved me a bunch of money.
Glad we could help!
Helpful, although, I would love to see where the line sits behind the stove. Thanks!
Thank you so much, it was really clear video
Glad we could help!
You made that look so possible!
This was great, followed these instructions and now I have ice!
Awesome!
Thank you I understand very good .
This is the best video on this topic I've seen. I wonder if it's ok to run the line behind my gas stove to the fridge , or under it. It sits between the sink and the fridge.
Thanks! I would go behind, if you go under and have to move the stove later you risk catching the line.
@@DoItYourselfDad actually when I rewatched video, you had already covered that!. Bought supplies and have tools. Trying it out at my just moved into place 2 months ago, so real deal at group home I manage, down syndrome. Such a tight budget at work, I've replaced toilet guts, rewired screens, patched screens, etc etc ....I'll let you know how it goes, thanks so much
Thank you! I did it!
Wow I thought it be more complicated than that, thanks.
Great job dad!
Ha. I purchase a whole new valve instead of that extension/splitter. Total bonehead maneuver. Being that main, valve bolt affixed to copper line didn't want to come loose, I went this direction. Thank you.
Thank u 4 the video. It helped a LOT
You’re welcome! Glad we could help!
Thank you! I was going to hire someone but I know I can handle this!
That’s a great 👍 video you the man 👨
I did a family member refrigerator and I had to used to 10 feet supplied lines with a connector it came out great thanks 🙏 again
Thank you so much for this video, I’ve watched at least 4 more and this video is the one that I actually understood.
Awesome! Glad we could help!!
Thank you so much!
Thanks you so much help 👍
Thank you sir for your help🙏
Thank you!
Great info... is there anything special I need to do when the line has to go behind a dishwasher?
Thank you so much I was hoping it was a way to do this I’m in a second floor apartment
I had alot of work done a few years ago on my 92 yr. old home. My washer was next to the fridge. I had a new laundry room built, so the washer was moved out, yay!. But, they completely removed the plumbing needed and covered the hole with drywall & painted! It was up to code.. Why on Earth would they do that? Don't most folks keep that 4 water in the fridge, dishwasher etc?? I'm flabbergasted. No wonder they are unreachable now. We cut open the wall to find that every pipe was gone just the holes in the 2x4s were there. They re-shingled the roof & I've got a small flat roof that leaks, STILL, 6 yrs later, no one can fix it for good..along with more exterior problems. Anyhoo...
Its going to be great to have ice & water from our new fridge! Thank you!
This was so helpful. One question, where should the hose go when you get behind the stove?
Secure it to the wall just above the baseboard.
Could you do a video on installing a through the wall sleeve for a room air conditioner? Thanks.
This was perfectly done! I am wondering...if you decide to remove the water line from the fridge, how do you shut off water to the fridge line without disrupting the water to the sink? Thank you so much!!!!
You can install a 1/4 valve before the water line to the fridge if you want to be able to do that.
@@DoItYourselfDad In fact, I'd recommend that regardless. Always good to be able to isolate.
Thank you so much 🙏🏽
Glad we could help!
Thanks for concise, clear and efficient comments. Appliance Service personnel are asking $200-$300; now I think Incan do this for a whole heck of a lot less. 🦄🍩☮️😷
I use a much smaller pliers so that I can feel the amount pressure I'm using to tighten those fittings
You mentioned that you need to pull out the oven and dishwasher, but I wish you would have shown what you did with the line for these. Did you screw hangers into the wall behind the oven, for example. Otherwise very concise and helpful.
It’s going to be different for every install, but yes, I screwed it directly to the wall behind the oven.
Thank you!
Thank you for this, seriously made it look so easy. I had a question though, how come you didn't use plumbers tape on the thread?
You don’t use tape on compression fittings. It’s can cause leaks.
@@DoItYourselfDad good to know! Thank you for being so helpful!
I got me a new fridge a few months ago and still yet to hook up water to it. I'm getting started on that this month and was wondering how I can hook it up when I already have a dishwasher hook up to my cold switch. Do they make angle stop in a cross shape or can I attach two Angle Stop Valve together, with the first one already there because of my dishwasher and just add the second on top of the first so the second can be for the fridge?
Wished you had shown the whole job going pass the dishwasher, the cabinets, & the stove to get to the frig!
Every kitchen if going to be different. We had to pull the stove out, we ran the line behind the dishwasher when we were in the process of replacing the dishwasher.
DoItYourselfDad I just put in a new dishwasher and it’s a pretty tight fit. It also sits against a wall with no cabinet, but up against the same wall is a cabinet. Would it be okay to run the water line above the dish washer just kind of resting on top of it? And then try to poke it through the wall into the next cabinet?
Should you open the valve/line under the sink for fridge connection all the way? Or just slightly?
All the way open.
THANK YOU
I have a plastic tubing instead of stainless steel. What connectors do I need to attach to use it in conjunction with the Angle Stop Add a T?
Great video
Glad we could help!
Great video. One question though. I am going to run a line along a utility room wall and have to make a sharp 90° turn to go through the wall to the refrigerator just on the other side of the wall. Suggestions for making that bend and covering the holes in the wall on both sides so that it isn't unsightly?
Did you figure a solution? I am facing the exact same challenge
@@BestManInDublin Not exactly. Mine runs from a utility room through the wall to the refrigerator in a basement garage room, so I finally decided that looks didn't make that big of a difference. I ran the line along the wall just above the baseboard and left enough slack that I could turn the line and feed it through the hole that I drilled for the line to go through. I might buy a 90° elbow and place it where the line turns to go through the wall, but for now I'm okay with it being like it is.
how do you run it through or around dishwasher that’s already installed?
Where can I find the straps/brackets that you used? I was searching in the hardware store forever and never found anything.
This works for the 🧊 too ?
How did you get around the back corner of the cabinets? I have a void in that corner and the walls of the cabinet make it hard to get in there
Do, you have a video, on how to install, a microwave over a gas stove/range? I also, need how to install, a SS Range Hood? The, taller ones. Going, over a gas stove/range & how to remove, a 1970's cheap, range hood? New, one will be installed, in a mobile home. TY, soo much again!
So my big point of confusion isn't how to run the line (although thank you for demonstrating and confirming my assumptions), but how to route the line through a blind angle. My sink and supply lines are essentially exactly where your dishwasher is in your example, with a wall along the left side. And then the next cabinet to the left of your dishwasher, at an angle, would match where mine is, with a wall along its right side. So both have walls at right angles to each other, and I have no accessibility behind them. So short of cutting out a large chunk of each wall (I'm in an apartment, so already pushing my limits here) to be able to fish for that new line, I'm not sure how to blindly get the line between those two right-angled walls. Any tips?
Its nice video .. i did everything as show but its likking water and it looks like its from the top line the one that comes from the sink... any idea why??
Where did you find the clips? I don’t see them on Amazon.
Where did you get the fridge from? If you know, how big is it also
Where your cabinets made the 90 degree (in the corner ) turn did you have a void back there to figure out how to make that turn?
I had a void back there, if yours is blocked off you can probably drill though and fish the line through with something like a straightened out coat hanger. Hope that helps.
