Another honest look at a real scape, really heartening to hear you get a little BBA at times, I battle with this, I guess everyone does, but mostly you just get to see perfection and not the hard work that goes into it, or the just before the maintenance scene. So glad you share this with us, I can sometimes feel I'm failing when Things aren't perfect 100% of the time! your videos show what really happens in a real scape and how to deal with it! Your aquarium is beautiful and love the rippling light effect.
Thanks Paul. The grind is real and I love to share the journey with you all.
*Love the pearl gouramis.*
U should remake the 800g to something like this :D
Pearls, as common as they may be, are my absolute favorite aquarium fish in the world. This is a great set-up George.
@@rickfromthecape3135 is this type of fishes going well with Tetras?
Man, I love the way you got the light to shimmer on that dark vertical rock face.
The shimmer of your lights adds a lot to this scape! Nice guorami too!
Your honesty about how long you leave some of your tanks between maintenance shows us how to get over or prevent problems. Sadly most of us lead, like yourself a busy life!!
Thanks for showing the real picture about keeping a aquas cape beautiful and fresh. Great vid George.
Thank you! It is important to tell the whole story, I think.
Wow. This channel is a sanctuary and those gouramis! Perfect. 👍😊😍
Thanks so much 😊
I'm in awe every time you showcase this tank.
Thanks so much 👍
I love this aquarium! You've done a really nice job with this! And thanks for the update, and high quality video!
I must say that this scape is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Love it George! Brilliant! Always quality! 👌🏻
Love this tank, looks so natural...👍👍👍
Well that cleaned up nicely! Great video.
Wow. I can't say it enough. Absolutely outstanding. Even when it was "green"; it stood on its own! Thank you for content!
Loving it! Thanks for sharing George👍😀
Love the new fish! Aquarium looks amazing.
The gouramis look lovely under those lights! The tank is really beautiful ✌️
I've watched and followed your videos for years now but always return to this one. I love the footage and the music. Your videos helped me set up a successful smaller scale scape which is still running today but in a simpler state. In that time I've started a family and made a home. One day I'll make a larger scale scape and still use this video for inspiration. Thank you.
This scape has grown in to look so natural. I love how the moss has covered the hardscape. All my tanks are high tech at the moment, but I think setting up a long term, low maintenance tank would really be a fun experience. Definitely next on my list.
Love that tank! Thanks for sharing!
Looking good as usual George!
Beautiful tank! Love the shimmering effect from the lights.
Thanks 🙏
Beautiful tank. Love the fish
Love this setup so much .. great video as always
Every video you post makes me want to change my tank... my favourite youtube channel. Keep up the good work George.
Pearl Gouramis are my go to fish when I want a "pop" in my tank... beautiful colors, peaceful, larger size, interesting shape... can't go wrong. Looks awesome in nicely planted tanks. Your tank is beautiful.... one I dream about!!!
Great choice with the pearls..love the 1200
Hi! I'm looking everywhere on UA-cam for aquascaping as I want to do a 100 litres tank (I'm French so sorry for my english ) I did one tank wonderful 15 years ago about 300 litres without pretension : one year to do it! I like the way you show yours aquascaping and maintenance which is most importance. It's a pleasure to see your play list that's why I take time to congratulate you. I follow the shop you're going to open and I wish you good luck. Have a happy new year and 2019 will be your year ! Bye
Amazing scape as usual even before the maintence. loved the addition of the Pearl Gouramis
Breathtaking scape --- and beautiful camera work! :)
Tank looks so good! I first found your channel when you came to seahorse aquariums loved it ever since then keep up the great vids 👌
Love the scape 👍🏻🌿
Gorgeous tank.
Absolutely gorgeous tank, this is what I aspire to create in my 30 gallon long. Might have to change up some of the plantings for something that can go along with a smaller scale.
I have to agree with Paul, it's defiantly refreshing to see "real life" aquatics. I have to take this opportunity to give a shout out to Dave at aquarium gardens. I placed an order Friday and forgot to add some quartz gravel. I sent him an email, he phoned me this morning and I'll be getting my order tomorrow. The very best customer service I've ever had. Simply outstanding. I'll get my entry in asap George.
Great to hear! I was there today cleaning tanks. New video out later 👍
Beautiful tank!!!
A stunning aquascape and those Pearl Gourami are just beautiful fish 🐠
Thanks Paul 👍
Beautiful tank. Thanks for posting.
Thanks 🙏
The groumais pull it all together and make it a work of water art.
i love the lights reflecting on the walls!
I have been battling with GDA for years and finally got rid of it by shortening photoperiod to 4 hours + reduced intensity. Before that I would always find ugly glass every few days. It is nice to see that even proc get algae when regular maintenance is neglected :)
Love this tank so much...
Thanks Rory 😊
Beautiful tank 😱😊💜💕
Lovely production all-round. Super update :)
Thanks Colin 😊
they look pretty happy
Gorgeous scape George!
Love it. Those pearls look just like mine. Love em
I left my 110 litre for two weeks as I was sick I did change the water but it became a mess. You tank after 6 weeks was not that bad considering the time.
George, consider drilling a hole near the lights and feeding the mains cable through the hollow steel tubes. This will greatly enhance the look.
Great tank and fish looking good
Thanks Naim 👍
Really beautifull aquarium!
Loving the Pearl Gouramis. One of the first tropical fish I ever had.
I love your videos so much! I hope to get myself a aquascape in a few years
I love your fish too George 😁
Nice choice with the gouramis
The Aquarium is spotless now after the maintenance.
I love the Pearl Gourami, a remarkable fish.
Great work.
I hope you don't mind, I mentioned you in my shout out today.
Fantastic video George!
Thanks Jerry 😊
Really pretty George - love gourami!
Very nice video.
Love it!😁
Cheers bro
Wow!
Those gourami look amazing under that light, healthy and happy.....your trusty old colander do too 😁 Good job George, the kids sound effects made me lol 😂 made me wake the wife and dog up though
Ha ha! Cheers mate 👍
Very nice video George
Thanks bro 👍
Gouramis have got to bw one of my fave fish . There just a stunning fish perfect for a stunning tank
These look beautiful with the harlequins ;)
What I like about that Aquascaper 1200 is its depth because it seems to allow better plant placement. My 240 liter Juwel Rios are 120 long, 55 cm high and only 40 cm deep so wider plants are usually hitting the back wall. Picking 40 cm deep aquariums was a conscious choice though because any deeper ones and they would take too much space in the living room.
I mean my apartment is only 46m2 so not that much extra room to waste. You know. I have overhauled pretty much all my aquariums within a week and they look quite bare without plants having grown in yet. Except for the other 240-liter tank which is filled to the brim with plants. :)
(after a bit of experimenting I've also learned to tweak my cellphone camera settings for more accurate image so yay for that)
Yay for wider tanks, Kim 👍
Awesome gourami!!! I hate the long filament green algae almost as much as bba. Another job well dome!
Thanks Keith 👍
Absolutely stunning layout and love the addition of the pearls! With the descriptions that you have in the video, are they set for how long they stay up? Some were quick in the video.
Frodo Stones and Bilbo Wood .... Gollum algae...Sauron snails... :o) sounds funny
😂
I used to love gouramis; one of my favorite freshwater fish families. Beautiful video as always.
On a different note, awhile back you mentioned interest in creating a reef tank. There was a thread on Reef2Reef recently on the lack of good aquascapes in marine aquaria, and as to why most of the pro freshwater aquascapers never really make an attempt at it.
Personally, I'd love to see what you come up with!
Love the scape. How many kilo of rocks do you think it is? Getting ready for my first proper 100cm aquascape on a similar style
Lovely low effort aquascape, some Corydoras would look great in there
Hi George, love your scapes as always and the effort you put in your videography. I'm having trouble with feeding my tropical fishes (German blue rams, zebra plecos, runny nose teras, discus) they take well to frozen Brineshrimp and Bloodworms but having difficulty with dry foods (tetra prima, jmc high protein granules) was just wondering what you feed your fishes and what you'd recommend for mine. Cheers
Great scape! I love how it looks, except for the long leafy plant edit: Cyperus.. in the back right corner.. Feel like it should be flowing the other way and give that classic "arch" of plants.
But totally 10x better than what I could ever come up with, so amazing job!
Thanks mate. The Cyperus can flow the other way for the final photos 👍
2 Iucky PearI Gouramis
..a joy for them to live in such aquarium ;)
hello george, how are you? dear plz tell me what is the impotent thing for the planted tank for growing better with out using CO2.
How do I prevent green dust alge on the glass. I use IE dosing?
Great vids as ever. What would you recommend for a water change routine for an EI-dosed but Non-CO2 tank? I swear the rush of CO2 from the tap every week is causing GSA... :-)
You said you run two filters, I see you run them separately but would it be possible to run them in series so you could have one do a load of mechanical filtering and then the other entirely do biological so then the bio media stays super clean. Or would that bugger the motors in the filters?
Really like your videos they are very informative. I do wonder if having an open tank makes any difference to room climate and humidity?
Humidity is raised slightly but it’s never been an issue for me
Do you use an rodi unit every time you do a water change?
Have you ever tried any other lights besides the kessils. I mean other high quality ones like ecoxotic or aquatic life Halo?
I like Twinstar and use their lights a lot
Are there any plans to start shipping the Aquascaper line to the US (or any other Evolution Aqua products)? What other brands would you recommend?
Gourami’s 🙈 had two when first set tank up ,one would spit at me when ever I went near the tank as it wanted food lol
It jumped out the tank one night though 😢 then I got two kissing gourami and they both died this week after swimming into my power head and getting stuck 🤔😢 love them but not had much luck sadly ...those look really nice George 👍🏻😎
Great looking setup, George. It looks better each time we see it, apart from the Algae :-( Remember what happened the last time you said you'll leave the BBA!
George, do you think one day you can make an hour footage of one of your aquascape? UA-cam now holds tons of long videos of cool stuff to watch. I'd put that as a background (thx illimited data internet) while working. I always said that a nice planted tank or reef tank is much better than a TV.
Great video as usual!
Great idea thanks 👍👍
Love it
Thanks 😊
George Farmer I love ur channel it's the best! could u possibly give me a shout out if u did it would mean the world.
I’ll see what I can do! 👍
Ahhhh thanks soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much
where did you get the pearl gourami?
beauty
Any tips with scaping only with sand?
Great tank! Really enjoyed your video. I was wondering how will Pearl Gouramis go with shrimps in a long run. My shrimps almost stopped to reproduce (i got no babies to grow up) in presence of a pair of Croaking Gouramis in a 60L tank. They could just find and eat them all.
Seem ok. There’s literally hundreds in there and they breed prolifically 👍
Hi, George. Siggi from Portugal, here.
The tank is rimless and with no lid on... Don't you have problems with humidity in your home due the the huge evaporating surface of warm water, don't you have fish jump out - last, how often do you top up with water? Do you use RO for that or de-chlor tap water?
Cheers.
Hi George tank looks epic! I'm starting to see some BBA growing in my 120l low tech aquarium... I don't run co2, I have 10 ember tetras in the tank and don't feed alot so I'm confused why Im getting BBA . I do a weekly 30% and dose half the recommended amount of liquid ferts. The only possible reason I could see I'm getting BBA is my lights I run them for 6 hours a day. Do you think that excess light is the cause since I'm only using low tech plants ?
Lucas Hardy 6hrs of light isnt a lot. The problem in answering your question is people have different experiences. Myself for example, I've never had BBA in my 20gallon long tank only have 2 low tech plants, anubuas and java fern my lights are on 8-9hrs a day. I also have a 5 gallon tank low tech plants lights on 8hrs a day, but its near a window and getting about 2 hrs of sunlight was enough to have major BBA. in my case just blocking the sunlight from the window for those 2hrs solved my problem. I would de an internet search about BBA so that you can read others experience with it to see how they got it and stopped it. It should give you some ideas. Good luck
George....could you start making a sort of Species series...where you can teach us how to keep specific plant species....sucessfully ...using non co2 techniques...starting maybe with your favourate plant...java fern maybe...😀
Your tanks and videos are amazing my friend....you have no idea how informative and well layout they are getting with each new video...your style of presentation has also tremendously increased a lot...more candid and relaxed...kudos to you...
Thanks 🙏
Hey George, the pearl gouramis don't eat the cherry shrimp?
I agree totally with Paul Conway, having watched so many aquascaping videos showing perfection I was sure I would never achieve it, it was only watching your 'warts and all' videos that stopped me from giving it all up last year! Can I ask whether the beautiful Kessil light would be inappropriate/overkill on a nano tank (Dennerle Scaper's 55L) as I adore the shimmer?
Kessil A80 Tuna Sun should be ok. A160 if you want to grow demanding stuff
Thanks George! I'll see that you have videos on Evolution Aqua covering them - off to watch!
hi George, tank looks amazing. How do the Gouramis go with the shrimp?
Thanks! They chase them around but the shrimp are too fast!
Hello, love... love ...very beautiful aquascape..
Do you have another name for it other than aquascaper 1200?
I like your choice of fish. I also have harlequin rasboras and shrimp in my tank.
I just signed up to Ukaps.org this last thursday and have learned a lot already. Love the plant data base but, just wish I could pronounce them like you... Lol maybe I can if I keep watching your videos. Thank you for putting your time in, I'm sure we all appreciate your knowledge.
Thanks Pamela 👍
Beautiful. Gouramis are big time jumpers tho.
Thanks. I’ve kept them before with no jumpers... fingers crossed 🤞
Suggested the gourami species 😀 fine choice George. Beautiful tank.
Thanks 😊
George Farmer no problem sir.
I know this video is 3 years old but I'll ask anyway. Gourami are jumpers. How were you able to keep the water level so high without a lid?
