If Maverick city had no reason to be at the Grammys shining the light of the gospel of Christ, then Jesus had no reason to eat with sinners at their house.
I think the Maverick City folks are surrounded by sinners wherever they go, both inside and outside the church.
@@OctavioMoss which does not make them sinners perse. We sometimes mixup truth with fruit and fruit with radicality without defining fruit or truth biblically. Truth without grace turns into condemnation or cruelty while grace without truth turn into lawlessness. Thats why we all need the fruit of the Spirit of.. Truth. Which is also the Spirit of Grace. God is both, not one without the other. Sometimes we think God is either one or the other, He isn’t, either are a byproduct. Both are part of His nature, it is who He is. That we, sinners and saints are still breathing today is because of grace, as sinners and saints deserve the same final destination, but it’s only by His truth and grace which separate saints and both sanctifies them. Truth which points us all to the fact we are part of the problem of sin and need Jesus, and that the ruler of this world is judged. Grace which enables us to believe in the truth so we can live lives pleasing to God by faith. We need both and sometimes because we lean more to the one or the other we distance ourselves from the nature of God which is sin in itself all over again as we are purposed from the beginning to be His image bearers. Either way and whatever we lean more into is corrupting the image of God. And to be honest.. both of it are mostly fear motivated. Fear of not being radical enough in truth, fear of not being radical enough in grace. Which both again is a form of sin. As we do not lean into faith in Our savior but lean on our works to please God, which is a lack of faith to begin with.. without we can not please God. The thin line here is.. not a preference of the one or the other.. the thin line is faith. Trust in the one true God which is truth AnD grace. The truth, AND the way.. AND… or which both is life. He is the life and we can only spread it by meeting those in need of it, even if we get mocked by our own brothers for it. I prefer to get mocked and misunderstood while living a sanctified life (so don’t get me wrong).. but sanctification is also not the same as isolation, as although the sect of the Essenes in the time of Jesus were also calling themselves sons of light, (whom righteously rejected the corrupt priesthood at the time) and also needed Jesus too to make them righteous and true priests themselves, to show them how to serve and to not pull themselves out of the world because of fear or pride, but trust God more who would protect them from the evil one, like Jesus prayed. So yes I hope I will position myself to be surrounded by sinners in and out church, as we know even in church the ones called children of God are those doing the will of the Father, the perfect will which is Christ and by us imitating Him.

It’s a shame that they would even show something like Sam Smith’s performance that night on live TV. I am beyond amazed that Maverick City was at the Grammys that night. Jesus is the only way.
Yes, Jesus is the only way, which is why He sends us into the world riddled with darkness to bring the LIGHT and message that He’s the only way. What if one of Sam smith’s dancers hears the Brandon message and decides to give his life to Christ? Jesus has sent us to the LOST. Let’s stop hiding, go out there, spread the GOOD NEWS that JESUS saves!
It's not a shame. That's what religious and cultural freedom looks like everyone. That gets to do their thing. You can make a speech about Jesus. Or you can put a performance on like that. You can do whatever you want cause it's your choice in your freedom.
I think that TV/ media blurred our vision one way or the other on reality. Jesus plainly said that this whole world lies under the sway or power of the evil one. Hellooo.. I’m not dodging that one, my workplace, my own family, and yes even in a church building there is a separation between those in the light and those still in darkness. Unless God somehow said stop baptizing our children, because as far as I know they still need to repent and follow Jesus and get baptized at one point. So my challenge to you is, what should we do? Should we really go that far to make a distinction between evil and evil? Where do we start and where do we end? Jesus never asked us to make a distinction but to separate ourselves, which by the way is a work of God, which also is not the same as isolation, but it’s a given position/ state or identity in which we grow more and more. And it’s funny.. as if we do not show up, it was Sam Smith’s performance and if we do show up there also was Sam Smith’s performance. I’m happy to see someone pointing to Jesus. And I can even go that far, that although the motives would be wrong (which I can not judge as I don’t know).. Paul said that even if the motives where totally off, and the gospel being preached by selfish motives.. still he rejoiced as it was preached. As it’s not the messenger who saves, but a complete trust in the Good News and Holy Spirit (God), that He is able to save. Even through broken vessels.
Our association matters a lot. Their recent association with the world speaks volume.

We have to pray for those that are representing Jesus in the darkest of places. The enemy s plan might be to lure them in, but Gods plan is that they too hear the gospel. Let’s cover maverick city in 🙏🏼 prayer

Because the grammars are not for one type of person the grammys are for everybody. This is what religious and cultural freedom looks like like everybody gets to express themselves. It's all the right to religious freedom matters so much until other people get to have their opinions. Besides that's art no one's actually worshipping the devil.

How are we supposed to win people in the world over for Christ if we are unwilling to go into the darkness and shine the light of Christ? Like it or not, Maverick City and Brandon Lake were given an opportunity to go into one of the DARKEST places and shine that light. Brandon hit it out of the park that day. You gotta believe seeds were planted and that alone makes it worth it.

Nope, I'm not against any Christian receiving any award at all.
What I meant is they shouldn't receive an award from the institution the openly praised satan. It is satan's plan to get Christians to not stand up against evil and instead be silent and be tolerant of everything.
The devil uses media to push and push his demonic ideology but it is up to us to say NO. It is up to us to put on our armour and pray for more souls to come to salvation.
It is up to us to spread the gospel and show we want nothing to do with tolerating satan. We are called to be set apart. To live holy lives on earth as it is in heaven as Jesus showed us. We are called to go out and make disciples, to grow and let go of sin gradually.
The devil wants to silence us. Brandon should have said; "I only want the things of Jesus. Not this award if you are worshipping the enemy."

The entertainment industry is very risky. While believing you're serving God, unexpectedly you may be dipping your toes into the world. You can't serve both God and the world. I pray for those Christians in this business that they stand firm and not be swept away by the temptations of the flesh.

I think Jesus didn’t die for the righteous and the perfect ones that are without sin. There’s nothing wrong with shining the light of Christ in the darkest room, rooms that are filled with “unbelievers”. Saul was on the road to Damascus, on his way to persecute Christians when he got arrested by God and got converted to Paul. Our God is still the same, a person could get converted at the Grammys, even in the middle of worshipping the devil.

What does that have to do with them? Jesus went to a wedding and performed a miracle in front of family, friends, and politicians. He was not at the wedding to convert people to Christ. Jesus knows how to love into repentance, while having fun with his loved ones. He turned water into wine because of his mother’s request, not to convert. Christians can be sent in unconventional places to help people understand who he is and just to live freely. Don’t put a limit on God and please stop being hypocritical.
