In my humblest opinion, Christianity has veered sharply off course, using messages of fear, threats, intimidation, judgment, condemnation and even hate to silence and control the flock. This is in sharp contrast of Christ's final command to preach love and reconciliation. It (again in my opinion) is responsible for churches becoming obsolete in a single lifetime. True Christianity thankfully is promised never to die, and true Christianity is not threatened by someone who is more knowledgeable on The Book, than anyone I know. God bless Dan.

Thank you so much! I have been watching AI gunrated videos called peculiar stories on UA-cam. I was beginning to feel like God was actually talking to me through them but I realize now because I also say the rosary the Holy Spirit kept trying to tell me that something was off about it. I realize now that in order to not fall into this trap you MUST establish a PERSONAL relationship with him. That means reading scripture or listening to audio bible,praying and worship. The rosary is VERY POWERFUL also.

Dan McClellan is NOT a bible scholar. This is the mistake people make. Calling him a "scholar". He is a bible critic that infiltrates accepted and approved biblical text with Mormon belief lenses. The problem is that AI takes over the thinking, and an alert mind is what makes a person. I completely reject this technology in the emotional, social area. It's OK for developing machines and software. But we humans are emotional beings with a soul. These AIs don't have a soul.

They are going after Dan McClellan for the same reason they go after atheists and scientists, the defense of their indefensible dogmas. Dan concisely destroys the most common manipulations of Biblical texts and the numerous false translations and interpretations used by Christian churches, especially the evangelical and literalist sects. Dan's concise analysis of the texts has made me even more confident in my decision to leave the faith over near 35 years ago.

I love Dan. I don't always agree with him but he's insanely educated and worth listening to.

I am not a literalist, and I sometimes like to touch base with scholars like McClellan, Bart Ehrmann and Elaine Pagels from time to time, considering their degree of scholarship and expertise over a variety of topics.

Anyone who attacks another based on their beliefs and faith automatically show their ignorance and lack of knowledge. Does this guy have multiple degrees and lived experience in the very places of the Bible? Dan does. I defend him because if a person has to step so low as to question ones ability to be impartial based on the factual evidence at play then they have nothing to stand on and really should just be ignored. Dan always comes from a place of records, writings and facts. Dan has never lead anyone astray with sharing his knowledge.

No such thing as a neutral scholar. Scholars who hide their beliefs are fools and take their audience for fools. If one has no interest in truth, why are they "teaching"? You shall know them by their fruits and beware of false prophets. The fruit of a prophet is what they say.

Learn to know Jesus’ voice by reading the Word and spending time w/ Jesus. What helped me was taking one verse a day learning about what that verse means talking to Jesus about that days verse and how to apply it to that day & my life

Just came across this on Bluesky. I've never heard of McLellan, despite being a Presbyterian pastor for nearly 40 years. What he's teaching is what I preach and teach about the Bible every week. This is basic historical-critical method I was taught in seminary. I'm always astonished to meet adult Christians who are literalists and try to justify that perspective logically.
