Hey everyone! Hope to see you at the Premiere (July 4th, 10PM JST). First time trying this. Decided to do it with an old favourite from the X channel (i.e. this is a re-upload but I'll be watching and commenting on it live at that time). Bye for now!
I looked at when people most watch my videos, and it starts at 10pm JST, so that's why I picked that time to do the premiere. I didn't realize it was America Day that I scheduled the premiere on, but if it's any consolation, I also forgot about Canada Day. What I mean to say, is happy days to everyone!
In some of those posts or columns, there you would find inscribed the whole route and the length of time between stations. Also, there's a big board indicating the whole schedule of the day. What amazed me is that the time inscribed on the schedule is always met.
I miss Japan 😔😔😔 When I visited the country it helped me get through my depression. It's so peaceful, clean, etc. i could walk the streets all day and just look at the houses buildings, parks etc.
This is one of my favourite videos on your channel!! I honestly can just rewatch this video and not be bored and I was just re-watching Tokyo by Bike! Will there be a Tokyo by BUS, next? Your videos are so beautiful and your hard work is very much appreciated!!! Thank you!
I was planning on coming back to Japan in winter and sadly, I probably have less than a 5% chance of that happening at this point. So your videos help me relive memories ❤️
Also: while the walkways in Tokyo are spectacular, I spent 4 weeks in Calgary and in my opinion, those walkways in the city were the most astonishing I had ever seen, so Canada can compete! 🙏
@@WholesaleTed wholesale Ted lol I know you! I’ve watched some of your videos. Fancy randomly seeing your comment here. And yes, having lived in Calgary for four years, Calgary’s got an awesome LRT system. Some of My fondest memories where in the train ... especially during The Calgary Stampede Carnival 🎡😊😊😊
Same, was planning to go on a year-long stay next year. How things are looking right now, doesn't seem like it will happen (I doubt things will get immediately better in 2021, my country has one of the worst infection rates in Europe so we probably won't be allowed anywhere for a long time and if the Olympics do happen next year then that's also not a great year to choose to say). Hoping that by 2022 I will be finally able to do it.
I spent almost 3 months in Tokyo when I started in high tech - I found that the train system is extremely exceptional. I don't speak Japanese and easily found my way around to anywhere I wanted or needed to go. I miss Japan and hope to visit again.
Hey man 👋🏻. I have seen in other videos that these trains get so packed that elementary school kids sometimes fit in between adults legs on the floor on their way to and from school. Have you ever seen that?

Loved it!! Actually all your vids are awesome, but this and the bike ride (that i watched a few times :)) are especially great. Hope to see Kamakura one day!
I loved these kind of videos where you show everyday life in Japan. It's interesting to see how life goes about in different places in Japan, away from the touristy places.
At the last video you said that you don't recommend to do this, but for me, if I go to Tokyo this is exactly what I'll do. I mean, isn't it awesome to see so much in one day. From people starting their day, go to work or school, to people that beginning new chapter in their life, married, or travel away. Then at the end of the day you can see some people are going home, releasing the steam while some other just about to start their work. And to think that each of them have their own story is just so wonderful.
my favourite part of your travelling videos are sporting places i’ve been to before and thinking wow i’ve walked there before!!!! thoroughly enjoyed this video specifically focusing on the trains as transport! there’s always something so fun, peaceful and enjoyable about taking trains and having no destination in mind.

When I'm on the train in Japan... I love going to the front and watch the conductor giving hand signals.. mostly to himself, and the way he puts his pocket watch in the little cubicle designed for it...it's little things like that that makes going to Japan so much fun..I love your videos. Domo arigato.
I love Japanese trains. Shinkansens and monorails are awesome. Very nice monorail, convenient you can store your luggage. Japanese monorails are the best. Tokyo Disney has a cute monorail, they recently updated their rolling stock after the other rolling stock has been in use for about nineteen years. Meanwhile, Disney World is still using monorails from 1989!
what an absolute blast this video was to watch. brings back so many memories. really hope we all can live our live normal again one day so people can experience Japan freely again.
Hi Greg! I've watched all your documentaries. Even though there are other channels about Japan, why i prefer to watch only yours is that you have such a soothing and non irritating voice. Nice work!! I'm from Sri Lanka btw.
First time watching this, and wow. Thank you for wonderfully capturing the feeling of riding the trains in Tokyo. The music, the shots, everything. I really miss it.
This is a great channel. I visited Japan only once for two weeks but the videos bring back a lot of memories. You also have a great family and lifestyle. I wish I could learn about saving space.... I always fill my space with clutter.
Hi! Greg thank you for making this kind of videos I felt like I'm traveling with you while hopping your to different trains. For video is really fun to watch and also it gives us insight about the different trains station. More videos to come. God Bless you
I so super love this video! The pacing, the editing, the music, the translation of those wonderful sentences I heard so often in our 3 weeks there and not knowing what they meant, Love to See what you drunk and ate, all the extra information. This ist really hard to watch right now not being able to visit this autumn 💔. Thank you for this amazing Video!
Missed opportunity to put the time on the video. So we get a visual of what time is crowded or not during specific times of the day. I know you showed the clock and mentioned it at some parts.
You make excellent videos doing such a great job of catching everyday life happenings making them so interesting. I spent a few weeks in Tokyo and enjoyed the trains so much. I can't wait for the day when we can get out and travel again. Thank you for bringing a piece of the world to us.
Train travelling in Japan especially Tokyo is so great: It’s clean, functional and mostly on time. It’s a tourist attraction itself 😉 And by the way, this is one of my favorite videos. Thanks Greg!
Another excellent video. I visit Tokyo often and love it. A big part of the experience is riding the amazing train system. It's so efficient, prompt, clean and usually relaxing because even when it's packed, people are mostly polite and quiet. You captured the unique sounds of the stations and trains well. I also enjoyed the variety of areas you visited, many of which were familiar, but some were new to me. As we can't travel during the current pandemic, thank you for this little escape back to my beloved Tokyo. I'll hopefully be back soon.
Based from my train ride experiences from nearly 1 and a half year ago, it's mostly the BIG train stations and stations near a certain popular tourist spot that has a lot of people riding in or off the train stations. Shibuya, Akihabara, the Haneda Airport station, Tokyo Skytree stop, and Shinjuku are the ones I noticed that has a lot of passengers at a time. Local lines, ofc. If you can't read the train lines map, always ask someone politely. I got lost/got off the wrong station a few times and asked the people around and they'll help for sure. Also. SUICA cards are SOOOO handy!
i enjoyed this video so so so so much, it was so calming/relaxing and i love all the scenery and the view from the front of the train was so beautiful and cool to see. and i just love riding on trains/subways so that was fun as well.
If riding the subway is your cup of tea, I'd like to give a shout-out to Tokyo Metro Underground Mysteries, a scavenger hunt that basically has you ride the subway and check out places nearby stations to solve puzzles for a day, usually from October to end of January.
I appricate this video so much, just came home from a long shift. In my pj's watching this video, it's so relaxing and the music in this video amazing. Keep up your hardwork😊
4:07 Man alive, how I wish our stations had those barriers. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen children too close to the edge. I nearly gave myself a stroke one time, when a toddler was steps away from the edge of a raised platform! Where was the mother? Seated a distance away, on her phone, with her BACK TURNED. Even if she had seen the child, she was too far to have grabbed him(?) in time. Not a freaking word of thanks, either, when I brought her child to her and said, "Your baby was right by the edge!" Ugh. Now, that, I don't miss!
I watched it on my laptop for the first time....and it was very good experience, I could feel the beautiful camera work. I will rewatch tokyo on bicycle!! 2016 was a good time... everything was better before corona!!

Great idea! Hope to see this in the next one

Already watched this video..didn't notice it was from the X channel..thank you for this amazing video!
I swear I enjoyed this even more the second time! You put so much effort into your videos it's unreal. You're a big inspiration!
Excellent video, stunning videography with 4k available. Thanks a lot
Loved it, it was very peaceful watching all the different types of scenery that the rains went through.
This was so fun to watch! Thank you for creating!😃
Love this video! It's very chill and good vibes. Great job 👍
your video never ceases to amaze me, this is one of the favourites .... jeez, I missed travelling to japan.
i enjoyed this video so so so so much, it was so calming/relaxing and i love all the scenery and the view from the front of the train was so beautiful and cool to see. and i just love riding on trains/subways so that was fun as well.
Could you do an episode on school life in older grades? Clubs? How it’s decided which school they attend?
I loved the background music in this video! This guy is so wholesome.
If riding the subway is your cup of tea, I'd like to give a shout-out to Tokyo Metro Underground Mysteries, a scavenger hunt that basically has you ride the subway and check out places nearby stations to solve puzzles for a day, usually from October to end of January.
This is amazing, miss Japan and Tokyo so much, this is such a nice taster of the sights and sounds. Thanks for making this 👍🏻
I appricate this video so much, just came home from a long shift.
Mind sharing where you witness that?
Excellent documentary. Thanks for doing this and providing a window to the Tokyo train system.
I watched it on my laptop for the first time....and it was very good experience, I could feel the beautiful camera work. I will rewatch tokyo on bicycle!! 2016 was a good time... everything was better before corona!!
I love your videos man! It feels like I'm there while I was watching it.
I've seen quite a few of your videos, this one was great, thanks for doing this!
My favorite video of all time from you!
Watched this in 2016 and now in 2020, it's still amazing like back then. High quality stuff as always.~
Love this video! Probably watch it every six months or so!
