India is actively guardian of a No Mans Land that spreads across Salt Swams in west, Desert & Rocky Dessert in North West, Snow capped glaciers in North, Hilly Forests in North, Urban Warfare in Northern Sectors, and Tropical Rain Forest and Rolling Hills in the east. "Dadhiwala Fauj" - means the bearded army. Except for Sikhs, members of the regular army are not allowed to have beards. Navy personnel are allowed to and hence a few of them sport beards - that's why the nickname.

The US has the Seals, Delta Force which is the Army version of the Seals. Airborne Rangers, The Green Berets, and Marines. So we're loaded for bear.
The army rangers are more like the navy seals. Seal team 6 is the navy’s delta force.

Also about the founder commandos 2 are retired now 1 in a Lt Gen level in the Strategic Command - is much what I know. I might be wrong commandos are spooky you know. I myself am a retired CRPF commando(petty officer level) trained in jundgle warfare. Now working at passport authorization domain under the government of India. MARCOS are not asking to marines entirely. Indian military developed them for special operations and maritime warfare. But large force amphi assaults are still the domain of the army based on the exercises I've seen them conduct. As for MARCOS they are not restricted to the Navy. In fa t, they do a lot of covert ops and even deep cover and espionage work in Kashmir and in foreign soil. And yes, every special forces operator in India is given the Maroon beret. That includes the Navy MARCOS, the Air Force Garurd (means Griffin in Sanskrit) and the army Para SF, formerly known as Para comandos. Garurd were raised for asset defence of Air force, but all 3 of them are used kinda like the JS JSOC. They are also given the "Balidan (sacrifice) badge which looks very similar to the SAS insignia. That is something which is earned after serving in combat, which is pretty much a necessity in India since we do have active insurgencies where our forces can get real combat experience.

If you like to know, due to the recent increase in piracy and attacks in the Red sea and Arabian sea, there have been a good amount of action taken by MARCOS. You can look it up as anti piracy or red sea ops by India.
Special Boat Service might be equivalent to MARCOS, but new class of SBS hasn't seen much action, some bits here and there in Afghanistan. MARCOS would be top tier in the world equivalent to maybe Israeli Navy Shayetet 13.

In 2024. Marcos officers are trained by indians para and nsg ex officers then after 4 years letter they started to trained by American and Israeli soldiers for 6 months
Marcos operators are not trained by para or nsg.
They get trained with para sf in Special Forces Training School and in other premium institutes.
And para sf operators get trained in underwater operations at naval diving school,kochi with Marcos Special Forces
I don't know the exact numbers, but what I can tell you is that India has over 100,000 to 200,000 MARCOS. The exact numbers of this special force are highly classified. I know this because one of my relatives is a MARCOS commando. Before he became a MARCOS commando, he was a good guy, always with a smile on his face. But after 3 years of his service, he became someone else. He was always in a high-alert mod, didn't smile anymore, and didn't talk much. One day, when I asked him, 'Bro, how was the training?' he said, 'It was a complete hell. Initially 1000 recruits come to become MARCOS, but only 50 are selected for further training. When I asked him how many Special Forces soldiers are in MARCOS he said 1-2 I then said 1000-2000. He replied No lakhs That's what he knows, but I assume there are more MARCOS than 1-2 lakhs. i mean india have 1.45 million active personnel and 1.3 million reserve troops.

I take videos like this with a grain of salt, after all, until it invaded Ukraine, Russia was generally ranked as the 2nd most powerful military in the world. Now, it's ranked in the 10th to 12th range (last I checked). What looks good on paper doesn't always translate to capability when applied practically i.e., regarding India's military as a whole. Past performance is usually a good indicator of current (or future) capabilities when expectations are applied to the equation.
I have no doubt however that MARCOS like any SO group are a capable fighting force.😉 If you want to learn more about US Navy SEALS, SAS, SBS or other Special Ops forces, you should check out Jocko Willik's podcast (Jocko Podcast channel). He's a former Navy SEAL team leader who has interviewed members of the SAS and other SF members, and like many whom he's interviewed, he's been in actual combat.👍

That being said, In an article printed in "The Aviationist" about the 2014 exercise, there were severe limitations placed upon the American pilots, and I quote:
"several limitations reduced the chances of victory of the Eagle drivers against the Indian fighters. First of all, the lack of the advanced active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar on their F-15s. Second, the air engagements typically involved six Eagles against up to eighteen IAF aircraft with no chance to simulate any beyond visual range (BVR) missile shot (due to the Indian request of not using the AMRAAM). Furthermore, the Indians had sent their most experienced airmen to fight against the Americans whereas the latter belonged to a standard squadron."
Don't take it so bad that we were asked to engage in mock dogfights against the Indian Airforce with one hand tied behind our backs. We couldn't use our more advanced technologies and didn't use our "best pilots" like India's hand-picked pilots. BTW, I don't think that Pakistan's military ranks too highly, so yeah, I expect India's military is superior to Pakistan's.
Also, PNS Ghazi (S-130) was a 1940s era sub (previously called the USS Diablo SS-479) that served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1963, leased to Pakistan in 1963 and bought by Pakistan in 1975. Not exactly a formidable threat to any nation by the 1970s.🤭 On a side note, do you actually think if China (or any nation) invades India, they'll choose the highest Indian mountain peaks as their battleground?🙄 As a matter of fact, India has actually lost territory to China on that "highest battlefield" in recent years. Royal marine Please react to the (paramedic force 5 bridge creek and moore, Oklahoma tornado May 3 1999). It's the first responders response to the 1999 moore, Oklahoma F5 tornando. I currently work as an EMT with EMSA in tulsa, Oklahoma. We use this video for training new hires on mass casualty response. The camera crews riding with these ambulance crews were making a Tv show on the day and life of first responders the day moore got hit. Most people have no idea what happen in the aftermath of a tornado. This video is a great watch to understand what it takes to triage a mass casualty incident.

Parachute Regiment - Para SF who specialize in mountain desert and forest warfare.
Marine Comandos - MARCOS specialize in ocean warfare and infiltration through water routes and then ground infiltration only if needed.
Garud Comandos - Garud Comandos are the special forces in the air.

Well , most of the footage shown in the video is just for pictorial purpose. They are not marcos , they are regular infantry and even the video is pretty old. Now marcos has better gear, comtacs , x95 , and they also perform regular excersise with seals.

yup...gurkha units were originally raised in India during the British "raj" and still we operate those unts....and to clear the misconception, gurkha people also hail from India (other than Nepal) specially from the nothern part of west bengal and some of the the Uttrakhand areas.... and these Gorkhas are not Nepalis but pure Indians..... so we have Gurkha units still active currently serving 7 battalions in Indian Army.... war cry: "Jai Mahalaki, aayo Gurkhali"....
