Dilemma amoung the Indian Navy and with Strategic thinkers in India is to have more Submarines or more Aircraft Carrier. Indian Think Tanks pressing for more Stealth Submarines for surprise attack on enemy rather than Huge Aircraft carrier which could be easy floating target for modern Smart Missiles and drones in the sea. India may go with both at same time as China is making rapid moves in Indian Ocean.

There is not a single American fighter jet in Indian Air or Naval Forces. No American fighter has ever been part of Indian inventory. And this will remain the case for the foreseeable future.
As for the "mix of fighters," by 2035, most of the older types will be retired and the only fighter jets left in the IAF will be:-
36 French-designed and built Rafale
272 Russian-designed airframe and engine, but Indian-designed avionics and largely Indian-built Su-30 MKI UPG
223 India-designed and built Tejas Mk1A
~180 Indian designed and built Tejas Mk2
~40+ Indian designed and built AMCA
So other than two squadrons of French Rafale, virtually all Indian fighters in the remaining 37 squadrons will be almost completely Indian.

This is the same aircraft carrier whose lifts are too small to carry anything other than the useless Mig 29K which has a weak undercarriage, low range, and poor weapon load. And oh, no serious AEW capability. Rather than projecting power, it is an asset that needs protecting by a substantial portion of the Indian Navy's other ships. What a total waste,

@@arun120977 yeah it might be inferior compared to Chinese carrier ( and Pakistan doesn't have any) . But we have to understand that our defence industry and navy try to accomplish something in very strict budget. Again engineering is a process of eliminating the deficiencies, so in future we might see something much better from our navy ( I'm expecting). And your wrong when you say there is no use of it. Definitely it got some punch. And about the lifts,which is compatible for rafale and F18, so it's not that small. You are expecting the features of super heavy carrier from a medium size ski-jump carrier. Your fact might be right but your expectations are not and looking at your 1st comment it might not be hate but it's not a good tone either. It maybe using the Mig29K currently as a stop gap solution, which will get replaced by the French Rafale N soon.
And after that those aircrafts (Rafael M) will be replaced by indigenously built hyper handsome TEDBF (nicknamed Indian teddy bear) (full form "Twin Engine Deck Based Fighter") a 4.5 gen naval fighter jet
