It's a credit to KTM that they can get second on the podium with a V-twin. I love this configuration, love the looks of the bike and like most bigger riders would be more comfortable on it. In contrast, to me the MV looks like something Hellboy would ride. The word ugly is just not strong enough and the Kawasaki was probably separated from it at birth. Each to their own I suppose.

I think I started reading FB back when its editor was a Colin Schiller (hope I got the name right). Biking then was going through phase as sales dropped and your average person was struggling to run bikes and costs, and the mag gave people who wanted but could only really dream of the fast bikes covered - but there would oft be second hand or prior bike tests too. Biking now, is almost only a bastion for the rich, or upper middle class. The costs are bananas, the running costs are bananas. The Chinese bikes are slowly offering cheaper machines with utterly shitty service intervals. The bike industry can't understand the falling sales, interest, and its own demise. Triumph offered died in the wool Brits a redemption. Then priced them out of the game. Then made most of it in Thailand. Its going so well :/
Bikes are more than they were in the 1990’s, sure, but it’s a huge stretch to say they’re only for the rich these days. The bikes on this list were all on the top end, so of course they’re expensive. But there are plenty of “super” class bikes under $10k, such as the Yamaha MT-09, Kawasaki Z900 and Suzuki Katana (Katana can be found new for just under $10k). A very competent and fun Kawasaki Z650 can be found for around $6,200, which is a crazy good deal
@@madrat5176 Most models are self relegated by their own price for the rich. The budget area is filled with improving, but still crap Chinese machines, with terrible service intervals. Its not a debate.
@@AdmV0rl0n So, you’re trying to say that a $6,100 or so bike is for rich people? Or do you only consider liter bikes “real” bikes? I’m not sure what your idea of rich people are…
How come then triumph and Ducati are seeing record sales? So what if they are for rich people the companies are making money. Work harder is my advice.
For the rich and middle class?! WTF are you on about?! I know three brickies who have; S1000rr, R1M and a Tuono - all bought brand new. I can assure you they are far from middle class 🤦🏼♂️😂
Perhaps I'm a minority of one, but I look forward to the day when this current era of naked bikes looking like they're from the TV show Transformers has ended.
Such a shame the KTM didn’t win like most people would say it is a true super naked bike from the start The BMW Ducati Aprilia are all basically superbikes without the fearing thank KTM for my V Twin fix for the day it was Ducati but 2018 when V4S come out and Euro 5 stop that lol
My 2021 S.F. with the AKRA system ,MAP and low restriction air filter came alive when I hit 3,500 miles. NOW with 8,500 miles,, even faster BUT controllable through the entire RPM range. THIS is my everyday transportation. At an idle warmed up, rear cylinders deactivate, somewhat quiet exhaust, and being flat black, it's not intimidating. The bike is a sleeper!! I also agree with KTM second place. Will dyno test in a week or two. Expecting about 205 @ the rear wheel..
If budget is an issue go with the Yamaha, if it’s your only bike and you ride regularly I’d go with the Yamaha again because of Yamaha’s reliability. I don’t think you’d really notice any major performance differences 99% of the time so unless it’s the styling of one of them you absolutely love I usually go with the bike that keeps me riding the most because I hate having my bike down for repairs during the riding season.
You guys should do the same but with the mid weight naked bike as well cause it would be interesting to see which one you guys will pick between the brand new Yamaha MT09SP and the KTM Duke 890R and the Triumph Streed Triple RS. Nice video btw 🤘🏻

Interesting results. Everyone will argue when their bike didn’t win it but I always appreciate the insights and opinions. Well edited. Enjoyed it thank you.
It is interesting to see that for years the Kawasaki and the Ducati always were last in the big 5-6 super naked comparison videos all over UA-cam and now you see them climbing up the chart. It`s odd to see the Kawasaki being better then the Tuono imho.

I don't get it. Some time ago S1000R was boring because it was good for everything. Now Street Fighter V4 does the same and it is getting good reviews for that. I have tested both bikes and except the looks and V4 being faster at higher rpm range are the same bikes. I'm talking normal road riding. All and all thx for the review :)
I could (reluctantly) believe that the Ducati won the superbike shootout, especially when it didn't the years before having the same engine and chassis. But the Streetfighter? Also, 3rd place Supernaked (and in front of the Tuono, Triumph, the BMW) for the Kawasaki when it weighs a pillion more than any other bike in this test (it's more of a power cruiser, if you ask me). I also find it hard to believe that the Kawasaki handles better than any bike in this test! Finally, how does the Triumph makes 180hp every where else and only 170hp in this shootout? I find incredibly interesting that the BMW has more character than a triple (the latter is not directly said but clearly implied)! Great shootout 👍👍👍, but I will have to unsubscribe though! ☺️
The front "nose" certainly takes away from the nakedness, but I own one...and I'm damned glad it's on there. That little thing makes a heck of a difference out on the road. I rode the streetfighter and superduke, and ended up with the Tuono. Having that nose to kick that highway blast up over my helmet definitely helped me make my decision. And, if you hop off any sportbike/superbike onto to Tuono, you absolutely know it's a naked. :-) Best regards!
What i think is sad, is why don't they track the weather before making the video, instead of making excuses. I mean that's why u have smartphones. Theres absolutely no excuse. You're comparing super naked bikes but you all know you can run them 100% on the road. So how do you even compare them correctly. Good video, i honestly think they should have done better planing, to test the bikes correctly
So there’s some important considerations of real world shit that you need to think about. First why buy a naked over a full on sports bike? So you can ride it a lot and not visit the chiropractor. Now that we settled that, do you know what the most important metric for how comfortable and all day rideable these bikes are ? It’s how tall you are. If you are a tall rider, the mythical comfort attributed to a lot of these machines vanishes into the ethers..Things like the Tuono. Upright bars? Check. Pegs in same place as an RSV? Oops, also check…If you are tall and evidently plan on riding a lot, as evidenced by being interested in a naked, there’s one bike in here you can ride all day long..repetitively. I’ll leave it to you to figure out which one. And if you didn’t care about comfort, we come back to the why get a naked in the first place?..
I agree with your brilliant post. I am 188cm/6’2 and the only comfortable bike for me here is the SFV4. I am enjoying every minute on it (mine is S as well:)

@@MaverickAus 😂😂😂 no. Speed triple. Superduke. Tuono. These are super nakeds. Hell the speed triple literally started the segment in 1994. The ZH2 is a purpose built overpowered ungainly and ugly AF standalone who's ONLY advantage over any bike in the segment save for 2 or 3(MV Brutale 1000, Ducati SF etc) is straight line speed. Can't turn worth a shit. Heavy as all get out and the range sucks. dude I've ridden every bike in the segment there's a reason in any actually credible source review the zh2 isn't even included.
WHat you just said is like saying the MT10 is a better bike than the S1000R. Wtf kinda crack you smoking?
I am considering the purchase of a new ride this spring and as an MT09 owner would have loved to have seen the MT-10 reviewed against these bikes. Too bad, maybe Yamaha isn't paying them?
Maybe Dunlop is having a pffft with Yamaha?
Likely a bonus really to only riding these bikes on the road as this is what they will mostly do. A track session would have no doubt influenced the rankings
Interesting order in this one. Everyone else says Streetfighter is "too serious", here it wins the shootout.
Too serious is a stupid statement as it doesn’t really mean anything anyway.
It’s an amazing bike and everyone said that.
@@dmartin23 that's not my statement, go watch MCN super naked shootout
@@dmartin23 I don't know why MCN pick tuono 1100 over streetfighter I had a 2017 tuono since it was brand new and a few months ago I finally replaced it with streetfighter and it feels like such an upgrade. The engine is so much nicer to use, it behaves well if you just want to commute but turns into a monster if you want to race.
it is a better race bike and a better street bike in my opinion.

Great video and good to see the Z H2 up there and getting the feedback it deserves. It certainly isn't the the most competitive neither does it have the best brakes or suspension but man does it make you feel good and put a massive smile on your face. I'll be doing the full review on the Z H2 2021 in the coming weeks, then have some mods to add such as the Scorpion can and Sprint filter (doing videos for those too). Will be an excellent comparison to the nakeds I have already done videos for.
A very interesting review , very non biased 👏🏽👏🏽
So the Kawasaki is the only one of the big four Japanese in this list, did the other three not make the first hurdle?
Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki are missing from this shootout
You should put more dunlop stickers on the bikes.
Couldn’t agree more, feels like a missed opportunity….
And the winner is... Tie for first: MT-10, GSX-S1000... :D
LoL...They gonna do a top 5 forgotton naked bikes test very soon.
I would go for mt10

I Spent 20.00km and 3years on the 1290R which is Insane for me since I normaly change bikes After 1 year.
The 1290R Rips your arms of and has the best seating Position for tall riders (6.1ft+)
Now I sit on the Factory which is insane too but the seating is kinda cramped for me 6ft2 Long legs
fair review, not like others fake reviews rank based on pricing instead of true riding
I would have liked to know how they all felt on the control tyre as not all bikes suit the same tyres.
Love with the design of Brutale
Mags need manufacturers to buy add space, their objectivity always has to be taken with pinch of salt
Maybe just a grain of it even. ;
They are all nice bikes, but for me it's the Aprilia.
After riding all of them I now own a zh2. 😂
The supercharged 1000cc makes all of them feel slow
Sure the other naked bikes may be better at the track but I bought a naked bike for the road not the track.
Bro I really don't want to disappoint you but sfv4s is faster than your zh2🤭
@@alx116 sadly though it has to be screaming all the time to make it faster or be happy, what makes the ZH2se unique is it has power everywhere, torque everywhere and fuel at slow around town speed is sublime

My 2016 Monster R.
Nothing compares.
Better looking than anything here.
Not an ounce of fat, pure functionality, and years of breeding.
Brutale arguably looks better and everything here except maybe the zh2 weighs less
The person who own mv agusta.. Is actually can buy all other bikes as well for him.. Mv is a symbol for rich..
I love the BMW it just seems like a perfect only bike to have.
Surprised with bmw at fifth despite them having by far some of the coolest tech and I really believe should be higher up
The bmws are often not exciting even if they have Nice tech
I've ridden the older version and it just felt absolutely boring. It felt less exciting than an MT-09, so I went with the MT-10 (way more fun). You just feel and hear nothing, look at the dash (oh 120mph, nice..)
HONDA CB 1000 is Missing ???
Super Duke number 2nd ! The only review where I haven't seen 1) Ducati 2) Aprillia and 3) Kawasaki...
Well done KTM :)
To bad that you couldn't test on the track. Well maby next year. :) Thx for the video.
Surprised to not see a MT10. I've done quite a few test rides on a few of these bikes and find it hard to get a bike with the power, electronic comforts and pure fun of my MT10?
I am back to the Ducati again, but the lack of cruise control is annoying for here in Australia.
Excellent review! Would love to know which has the best wheelie control that let’s you have some fun, whilst providing a safety net
My dad has the Zh2, in sport mode you can literally just crack the throttle in the first 3 gears and it will stand you up 45 degree and just sit you there, epic fun and safe.
Great review lads!! Refreshing for motorcycle journo’s not to be sucking up to brands and just say it how you see it… unlike some MotorCycle News people out there. Appreciated!!
I’ll take the Kawasaki. Perfect for Florida roads.
I live in Fl and have a ZH2. I love it I've always had sport bikes this is my first naked, it's so much more comfortable to ride and it still handles well.
So y’all picked a track bike for a naked competition. Isn’t a naked bike about day to day usability & not power? Especially when you have to wring it to high revs to enjoy it….?
Speed triple best by a mile - for the money best value proposition no contest .
Why no MT?
It’s weird all reviews and Comparison about super naked bikes( street fighters) test it Racing track what about if test it in city road?
No GSXS1000 or MT10?
It's a credit to KTM that they can get second on the podium with a V-twin. I love this configuration, love the looks of the bike and like most bigger riders would be more comfortable on it. In contrast, to me the MV looks like something Hellboy would ride. The word ugly is just not strong enough and the Kawasaki was probably separated from it at birth. Each to their own I suppose.
Why is the MT-10 always missing from these big tests?
It can’t compete.
Low on HP, tech, aggressiveness, and super naked characteristics.
@@eddyquik lol. Have you ridden one? Its only a few HP down from the Tuono.
could have mentioned their then-current prices
Kwak for me best muscle bike not that bothered about ultimate handling and decent value too will sit on ones at MCN in December and if feel good will order..
1st Tuono
2nd Streetfighter
3rd between the Speed and the SDR
This test goes against every other review I've seen.
The reason is that, people love that Aprilia V4, it has power, charecter,noice..but its still an old engine in a new fairings.

Where Is GSXS1000?
Every bike they said had character 🤣
Heck yes, nice review of the bike of 2021!
Perhaps I'm a minority of one, but I look forward to the day when this current era of naked bikes looking like they're from the TV show Transformers has ended.
Ya know they still make sport bikes too.
Those Dunlop stickers are hilarious 😂😂😂
1) Tuono🤘 2) Speed triple🤙 3) Zh2 🔥
These look like what should be the actual results for podium!
The first two is right, but not Kawa third, it's too heavy in this group.
where are the smaller bikes?
My 2021 S.F. with the AKRA system ,MAP and low restriction air filter came alive when I hit 3,500 miles. NOW with 8,500 miles,, even faster BUT controllable through the entire RPM range. THIS is my everyday transportation. At an idle warmed up, rear cylinders deactivate, somewhat quiet exhaust, and being flat black, it's not intimidating. The bike is a sleeper!! I also agree with KTM second place. Will dyno test in a week or two. Expecting about 205 @ the rear wheel..
I love to hear the results of your dyno run.
@@Antmanmoto Yesterday,, 207 My guess was 205 .. NEVER enough
Always makes me laugh when reviewers complain about acceleration on 150+bhp motorcycles. How is that applicable to an average rider?
Im tall so KTM for me, no Yamaha MT?
I would have enjoyed the review a bit more if the music would stop during the talking parts...
yamaha mt 10 ?
It’s the MT09 of course but still a good vid 👊
No MT10SP?
< Most practical, useable sport bike of the year.
I am here trying to decide between the Duke 890 R, MT09 SP and Ducati Monster giving me a headache
Don't really agree with you on the Brutale, it felt like one of the most angry inline 4s out and thought it was very exciting to ride...other than that this was a great shootout, being that I own a V4S SF I agree with it's spot here, mildly biased hahaha.
Interesting results. Everyone will argue when their bike didn’t win it but I always appreciate the insights and opinions. Well edited. Enjoyed it thank you.
💥💥Nice Review..DUCATI SF V4 MY PICK ❤....

It is interesting to see that for years the Kawasaki and the Ducati always were last in the big 5-6 super naked comparison videos all over UA-cam and now you see them climbing up the chart. It`s odd to see the Kawasaki being better then the Tuono imho.
Lol they put the BMW above the Triumph because the lack of grunt made it feel more controllable.
Getting the Mt-07 on Friday gonna fuck shit up word son, can't wait. Just waiting for my crash bars to come so I can get the dealership to install them before they ship it to me. Pray Pray Pray it doesn't snow at all by me. Please god don't snow.
Would love to see the Energica Eva Ribelle compared alongside these staples!
Nobody puts the Indian FTR 1200 in these tests !!!
pity the new MT10 wasnt out yet
Awesome review guys.
I’m surprised the Yamaha MT-10 wasn’t a contender
Zh2. Trumps the yammie
So no point bringing it along
Too old, it just doesn't have the specs to compete with the latest bunch.
Awesome review. Thank you. 👍😎🇦🇺
But is the Tuono really a naked bike???
The front "nose" certainly takes away from the nakedness, but I own one...and I'm damned glad it's on there. That little thing makes a heck of a difference out on the road. I rode the streetfighter and superduke, and ended up with the Tuono. Having that nose to kick that highway blast up over my helmet definitely helped me make my decision. And, if you hop off any sportbike/superbike onto to Tuono, you absolutely know it's a naked. :-) Best regards!
What the hell is "character" in a motor cycle?
Who is the clown in the black ninja suit leaning on the corners, hahahahaha, what a plank. Good review guys, agree with the choices
That MV is bonkers. Must restricted out the wazoo for emissions regs.
Yamaha's MT-10 seems to have fallen short...but had there been a sporty more unforgiving fantasy version of it...SLAM!!
loved it guys!
Tim is Johnathan Rea from Sides🤩🤩
Enjoyed that. Excellent review, thanks 😊 👍
