Spider-Man is what really made Hollywood and moviegoers realize that superhero films had a future. Blade got his foot in the door, the first X-Men movie opened it, and Spidey knocked it down.
The music score in the first three is just so epic. It kicks up in all the rite moments it’s on par with Star Wars and Harry Potter. Just makes all the big moments just feel even bigger and better.
It might be the worst movie in the trilogy but the musical sting when Peter sees himself in the black suit for the first time is possibly the best score in the 3 movies
While I did like a lot of things in the Marc Webb and Jon Watts movie, I still think Sam Raimi had the best handle of Spider-Man, even with Spider-Man 3 and the emo/bully Maguire
Spiderman 2 is one of the best superhero movies imo, spideman in sam reimi movies never win because he is stronger but either talk the villains out like with doc oc or outsmart like green goblin
Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy is one of the best trilogies ever. Spider-Man 3, not unlike Halloween Ends, is misunderstood for the most part. It's a great ending and a good film. Tobey will always be THE Spiderman.

The organic web was pulled from Miguel O'Hara in Spiderman 2099. It was an amalgamation of all the spidermen from the comics. The armored face of green goblin was also reimaged for the first cinematic appearance of Norman's alter ego.
No, he didn't have the webshooters because he said Peter building webshooters made him unrelateable. That means he has no grasp of what makes him a relatable character
@@King-mg7vy Don't talk about what you know, you six-year-old newbie. The organic web-shooting was taken by David Koepp from the James Cameron script for a Spidey film. Sam Raimi was actually going to use mechanical web-shooters, there are footages of Tobey using self-made web-shooters. What happened was that Sam had a change of thought and scrapped the mechanical web-shooters. He said that his Peter was always short of money, and the same Peter being able to make mechanical web-shooters while no other company could make anything like this would not be believable to some of his audience (not all). That was his line of reasoning. But of course, this is inaccurate with respect to any Peter Parker Spidey comic.
There have been different actors playing the various roles in all the Spiderman films but Willem Dafoe IS the Green Goblin. He is the embodiment of the character I both hated and feared as a kid reading the comics.

The funniest thing to me about the train fight in Spider-Man 2 is the fact that there are ABSOLUTELY NO el trains in midtown Manhattan. The furthest downtown where you'll see an outdoor subway is 120th St in Harlem. Having said that, it was still an excellent scene
I really liked Spider-Man 3. The way somebody begins to believe their own bullshite, get caught up in themselves. I like Venom in this movie far more than Tom Hardy's version.
Seeing this video made me think back and be less salty towards Spider-Man 3. At the end of the day it's still a part of my childhood, just like the other 2 movies. 🕷
The reason why the original trilogy was memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth AVI ARAD on the other hand, just wanted to use the movies to sell toys Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1 Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise Spider-Man was nothing without her
yeah, its honestly not a bad movie, we could have gotten a whole lot worse, but it's still a fitting conclusion even if it is a little messy along the way
I was always curious as to why Green Goblin captured Spider-Man but never decided to unmask him when he had the chance. The official novelization explains that it was a matter of honor -- to simply unmask him in Spider-Man's weak state would have been too easy. It would also defeat the purpose of him wanting Spider-Man to independently decide to join him. "I COULD SQUASH YOU LIKE A BUG RIGHT NOW. But I'm offering you a choice." I used to think this was a plot hole, but I really don't think it is. I think Goblin genuinely felt like it would be wrong, in that moment, to unmask him. It would be too easy.
Venom was a studio mandate, Sony and Avi Arad were/are out of touch idiots, and Sam Raimi wasn't happy making Spiderman 3. Many people are able to enjoy Spiderman 3, without having their opinion spoon fed to them by internet opinion.
Raimi didn't care for Venom. He was a classic Spider-Man fan. Lee-Ditko and Lee-Romita. He was into the villains from that era. Venom was alien to him, pardon the pun. He would never have put his heart truly into a Venom story.
After 15 years of listening to the criticisms of Spider-Man 3, I still can't understand them. "Bully Maguire is so cringey" ... yeah, did you not notice the characters in the movie cringing at him dancing down the street? It's supposed to be cringey. That's why it's funny. The attempt to criticize that aspect actually reinforces how that element of the movie works. People will criticize the film for having too many villains and they don't get enough development, meanwhile the same people will praise No Way Home, which has even more villains, which have even less to do with the story and have far less development. Meanwhile that film is shot like garbage, and has no memorable moments, yet Spider-Man 3 is tremendously well shot with tons of memorable moments. The criticisms against Spider-Man 3 just don't hold up to scrutiny and you're a hypocrite if you gave No Way Home a positive review. At least Sam Raimi is a good director. A bad Sam Raimi film is still better than Jon Watts' best film, because Jon Watts is a bad director, and still better than any Spider-Man film since.
I prefer Sam Raimi's entire trilogy over anything Marvel/Disney have done with Spiderman. That 3rd Tom Holland one, I can't remember the name, is an unmitigated mess and represents every thing I hate with modern film making. Every thing has to be connected for no reason, and no reasons will be given beyond "multiverse". It takes a skilled writer to create complex storytelling that a multiverse requires, and Disney doesn't do it. Speaking of conveniences in 3, does anyone else find it convenient that Gwen just happens to show up at the exact same restaurant that Peter and MJ are at? Like out of all the restaurants in NYC she just so happens to be where those two are at
I'm more a batman guy since he's my favorite superhero. I have more of a connection to the dark knight trilogy than I do with the sam raimi spider man trilogy.
Spiderman 3 was ment to have a different more horrific ending showing that when the Symbiote pulled away all that was left of Eddie was his skeleton (Spiderman only survived due to his healing factor) and that Venom basically ate Eddie's skin and muscles and was shapeshifting to look like Eddie basically reanimating his corpse
8:29 I love thewall crawling scene. And the jumping scene it looked wierd even in 2002, when he ran it seems like Woody from Toy Story. And sure it doesnt hold up. I still love this movie
Now that i think about it. Otto didn't kill anyone in this movie, like he didn't want to, everyone was just literally in his way of his dreams. His wife died, but that was her fault, she stood there instead of fucking moved.
Spielberg also could've directed Spider-Man but he turned it down. It's crazy how DiCaprio's good friend would be become Spider-Man. I'm so glad I was able to see the first one in theaters and became a part history. Unfortunately didn't see 2 and 3.
The one thing that the MCU Spider-Man fixed is explaining how Peter got a nice costume. Peter's poor. So how does he come up with something so fancy. Also, two should have ended with this thing from outer space appearing in Central Park. Then we see several bright dressed characters heading for it. And Spider-Man follows them. Then, three starts with Peter reappearing from the structure in his black suit. Since they didn't know they were going to do Venom in three when they did two, they still could have started three this way. And the symbiont should have became whatever clothes Peter wanted it to be. Not just his suit.
I would have preferred Spider-Man 3 to focus on Sandman and Harry without necessarily leading to Harry's demise. One aspect I'd find intriguing is exploring Venom's ability to reveal the memories and knowledge the symbiote acquired about Peter, which could lead to Eddie's transformation into Venom.
If Burton had gotten to make another Batman movie then no but Yes I agree. It started all this madness we have now. Plus the new spiderman games that were coming out were great games helped a lot also.
I feel like Tim Burton's Batman was his favorite character like Raimi was for Spiderman it was the studio interference that messed up the best superhero movies we had before we ever did the cinematic series that's gotten played out now.
Ill always remember going to Newark,(yes the NJ one), to score drugs with my buddy before a trip to NYC and we turned out to have no problems due to the dealer remembering my buddy looking like "Spiderman" , aka Toby McGuire 🤣🤣🤣
so, Spider-Man 3 was the first time I was disappointed by a modern Marvel movie... from Blade, to X-men, to the first 2 Raimi movies, each one got better. But, like the X-Men: Last Stand, there was a confluence of ideas that sort of sunk the third one. You mentioned that the studio's forced some things on Sam Raimi, but I remember reading at the time that both Toby & Sam didn't want to do more movies after the third one. I think that there were originally 2 more planned after the third one, which were going to feature either sand man and/or the new goblin. So, my opinion is that this third one rolled any potential sequels into one movie so that they could move on and do other things. In the end, i think its more re-watchable than some of the other sequel failures, mostly because of the quality of both the filmmaking and the acting.
The Raimi series wasn’t a whole lot less cartoony and silly than the Schumacher Batman films, but unlike those films, the tone actually fit. Batman should be slightly darker than the other superhero movies. Spider-Man and Superman should be on the lighter end. If you have your tone actually fit the character, you’ll be fine. It’s why Deadpool worked. Nobody was aiming for a box office friendly PG-13. They just told a story that fit the character and let everything else fall into place. People want to see these characters be themselves.
I personally love Spider-Man 3, marvel and Sony would be insane to not get Tobey back in secret wars, especially seeing as he was excited to come back for no way home
I still remember being like 6 or 7 and my dad taking me and my brothers to watch the 1st Spiderman after that Spiderman became my favorite superhero ❤ when I was a kid kinda still is haha ahhh weird par too was that my dad never took us to the movies lulz
Imagine if there was a live action film version of Ultimate Spiderman taking on Ultimate Green Goblin 😳. I think the idea of morphing back and forth from Goblin monster/beast and creating fire balls is very clever and gangster 😀
Yes,Blade and X-men did open the door for comic book movies, but the Spider-man trilogy kicked that door down. It set the stage for all that we've seen since then.
Spider-Man 3 is unironically my favorite the only thing I didn't like about it was the characterization of Eddie Brock. I don't care how close he is to the comics, I didn't read them, but he's kinda douchy and he'd have been much more tragic if he was more of a victim, which would have made his motivation stronger. Instead, they try to establish him as kind of a prick early on and it just doesn't work Everything else about this movie, I absolutely adore. And this includes the dance scene, which makes me miserable in all the right ways. Our sweetheart Peter who we followed for two movies now has become such a chode that he's completely unrecognisable and it broke my heart, when I watched it It's a masterpiece in my opinion and beats out the first two for me, just cause hero corruption is such a great plot device
I didn’t especially dislike Topher Grace as Eddie. He was as so many others have said, under developed. Perhaps he should’ve been introduced in the latter half of Spider-Man 2 to better serve his entry in the third film. Visually as Venom, it was a decent look, but the development and portrayal were just so wrong.
I do believe the original Spider-Man trilogy set the bar for not only marvel movies to follow in the next decade but superhero movies in general because I got tired of seeing Batman and Superman on the big screen. I wanted to see other superheroes get some love. I think Spider-Man ushered in marvel superheroes as well I think the whole trilogy is good on its own. Obviously the first two movies are some of the best. Superhero movies of the genre. The third one was just an overloaded convoluted mess which closed out the original trilogy in a very disappointing way but all in all fantastic series.
Spider-man 2002 came out in May of that year. And lol you really didn't mention the entire fight and back and forth with Peter and Harry just the one line. But then act like he exits the film....
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits of NWH But you know who else deserves a big thank you? LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy had depth Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
The first 2 Spiderman movies are the best made in the Superhero genre. Although I still see Spiderman 2 being the best of the bunch, as Alfred Molina Doc Ock is much better both in his costume design and look. While Spiderman 3 is the weakest of the Tobey Maguire trilogy, although it has a few good sequences but otherwise forgettable.
One thing I would have pointed out, at the end of Spider-Man 2, the reflection of the World Trade Center Towers can be seen as MJ looks out the window. An obvious nod to the scrapped promotion for the first movie where a chopper was caught in a spider net between them. Sony felt it was too soon after 9/11 to do that. Parts of Spider-Man 3 work for me, some don't. It is the weaker ion the trilogy. Topher Grace was WAY miscast in this role.
And, No Way Home made me love the performances of Maguire, Dafoe, and Molina even more. Tobey NEEDS to be in Secret Wars. Garfield too but with a lower case needs.
Unpopular opinion but Spiderman 3 is the one Ive watched the most out of the 3. Although it has some really bad moments, the highs make up for them. In particular, all the action! We get some spectacular fights in and out of the Spidey suit. Even more controversial option, 2 is the one I've watched the least. I dunno, it's so slow and boring. I don't get why people like it so much. I've only seen it in full like twice. All other times I just skip to the train fight. 1 is perfect the way it is.
Although the movies are great, I can’t say that I’m a fan of the casting choice for Peter. Tobey Maguire was just too awkward looking for me; I hated the way he runs and I hated that stupid grimace he makes whenever he’s overexerting himself. I think Jake Gyllenhaal would’ve a far better Peter Parker. Also, a different actor makes sense considering how most of the crew also disliked Tobey Maguire. I also wish they’d given MJ more to do other than just to bang every major male character or scream repeatedly throughout all three films.
The only real issue i have is spidey dropping off go lins \ normans corpse. What a kind and considerate "murderer" right? Dumb Harry...but NO SECURITY for sandman in 3? He knocked out a k9 unit and jumped a 10 ft fence dude. There was def security set up, but also, its avi arads fault that things didnt get enough time and or explanation, he forced venom into the film
Man I loved these movies and still do. I just never like MJ, her writing and Kirsten Dusnt is ehh hit or miss. I mean i don't like her acting thay much tbh. I preferred Gwen from SpiderMan 3
Never liked the cast. Maguire was too wimpy and never witty enough and Dunst was just not a smokeshow as MJ is supposed to be. Andrew Garfield much better Spidey.

Speaking of conveniences in 3, does anyone else find it convenient that Gwen just happens to show up at the exact same restaurant that Peter and MJ are at? Like out of all the restaurants in NYC she just so happens to be where those two are at
Sam Rani & Christopher Nolan have the best Super hero Trilogies of all time!
I'm more a batman guy since he's my favorite superhero. I have more of a connection to the dark knight trilogy than I do with the sam raimi spider man trilogy.
As a life long New Yorker, thanks to the 1st Spider-Man, I'm still trepidatious about ever getting on that goddamn tram.
Old sport

The one thing that the MCU Spider-Man fixed is explaining how Peter got a nice costume. Peter's poor. So how does he come up with something so fancy.
Also, two should have ended with this thing from outer space appearing in Central Park. Then we see several bright dressed characters heading for it. And Spider-Man follows them. Then, three starts with Peter reappearing from the structure in his black suit. Since they didn't know they were going to do Venom in three when they did two, they still could have started three this way. And the symbiont should have became whatever clothes Peter wanted it to be. Not just his suit.
He’s poor but he’s a genius who can make anything
What the hell is wrong with you?
Yes Sam Raimi's Spider Man is still the best spidy. Im sorry but Spider Man 2 is a masterpiece in cinema making. It has all.
17:53 and mentioning the first EVER movie to cross the 100million opening weekend
Spiderman 3 was an amazing movie, it is unnecessarily hated.
That Meme, "You know Peter I'm somewhat of a scientist myself"
Spider-Man 1&2 should be sent into space they’re that good
They even did the exact same death of Uncle Ben story on the 60s animated show almost beat for beat to this movie.
Ill always remember going to Newark,(yes the NJ one), to score drugs with my buddy before a trip to NYC and we turned out to have no problems due to the dealer remembering my buddy looking like "Spiderman" , aka Toby McGuire 🤣🤣🤣
The greatest superhero trilogy of all time in my opinion! Right there with the Dark Knight and Guardians!
The kissing scene is dope cause Kristen is STACKED and white t shirt lol (metaphorically speaking )
so, Spider-Man 3 was the first time I was disappointed by a modern Marvel movie... from Blade, to X-men, to the first 2 Raimi movies, each one got better.
Stan Lee Said That In A Radio Interview That He Thought John Cusack Would Be A Perfect Choice To Play Peter Parker/Spider-Man
The Raimi series wasn’t a whole lot less cartoony and silly than the Schumacher Batman films, but unlike those films, the tone actually fit.
I honestly think the Holland Spider-Man is much sillier and more childlike.
"LiL" Jimmy Norton @13:32 !!!!!! Great Cameo!!!!
Only one thing fries my brain since 2007 . Sandman's outfit . I mean it comes back everytime he turns and yes , Im serious .
#makeraimispiderman4
"BONESAW IS REEEADY!!" 🐐
Oh Yeah. Gonna snap Spider-Man like a Slim Jim.
Imagine if there was a live action film version of Ultimate Spiderman taking on Ultimate Green Goblin 😳. I think the idea of morphing back and forth from Goblin monster/beast and creating fire balls is very clever and gangster 😀
Amazing Spider-Man series was meant to be more like Ultimate but they didn't commit enough
@@positivetakes5592 The hereditary Spider-Man thing was the worst thing. Just like Snyder butchering Superman's character in Man of Steel.
Yes,Blade and X-men did open the door for comic book movies, but the Spider-man trilogy kicked that door down. It set the stage for all that we've seen since then.
Awesome! This is what I would like to see
It was awesome 👍
Spider-Man 3 is unironically my favorite
the only thing I didn't like about it was the characterization of Eddie Brock. I don't care how close he is to the comics, I didn't read them, but he's kinda douchy and he'd have been much more tragic if he was more of a victim, which would have made his motivation stronger. Instead, they try to establish him as kind of a prick early on and it just doesn't work
Everything else about this movie, I absolutely adore. And this includes the dance scene, which makes me miserable in all the right ways. Our sweetheart Peter who we followed for two movies now has become such a chode that he's completely unrecognisable and it broke my heart, when I watched it
It's a masterpiece in my opinion and beats out the first two for me, just cause hero corruption is such a great plot device
Quick edit. The first movie was released in MAY 2002. Not April. Otherwise a fine video.
Sam Raimi is amazing
But I felt his passion reduced in Spider-Man 3 because of Avi Arad's interference
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits of NWH
But you know who else deserves a big thank you?
LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy had depth
Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
I think the movie Life is an unofficial prequel of the Venom character.
How is Far From Home divisive?
I like all 3 movies
The first 2 Spiderman movies are the best made in the Superhero genre. Although I still see Spiderman 2 being the best of the bunch, as Alfred Molina Doc Ock is much better both in his costume design and look. While Spiderman 3 is the weakest of the Tobey Maguire trilogy, although it has a few good sequences but otherwise forgettable.
What I want to know is why is Spiderman the only character who looks different in other universities
What we need is the amazing Spider-Man three were Andrew Garfield find his Mary Jane
Spiderman 3 suffered was they had too many villains in the movie and should've just focused on 1 like the other 2.
Divisive Spiderman far from home???? I have never heard that from anyone, ever. It's very popular
🕸️
Although the movies are great, I can’t say that I’m a fan of the casting choice for Peter. Tobey Maguire was just too awkward looking for me; I hated the way he runs and I hated that stupid grimace he makes whenever he’s overexerting himself. I think Jake Gyllenhaal would’ve a far better Peter Parker. Also, a different actor makes sense considering how most of the crew also disliked Tobey Maguire. I also wish they’d given MJ more to do other than just to bang every major male character or scream repeatedly throughout all three films.
I problem The missed ehere part is my
Higher picture quality will apply to your current video.
When you said does this match up against today's incredible standards I was hoping you were high man 😂 👀
If Sony greenlits SPIDER-MAN 4, they'll have to get rid of AVI ARAD
Or else it will be just another failure
#AviAradOut
Topher Grace was definitely miscast
Never liked the cast.
Maguire was too wimpy and never witty enough and Dunst was just not a smokeshow as MJ is supposed to be.
Andrew Garfield much better Spidey.
Mj should have had a different arc, maybe she should have redeemed and married harry in spiderman 2. Never liked the dynamic between parker and mj
Ofc James Cameron made the original spider-man script lmao who else could make a better writing.
Can you spot the comedian?
Kirsten Dunst was miscast.
I hated the amazing spider movies. I fust didn't like how he looked. Spider man 3 wasn't so bad to me. The first 2are classics.
