Every movie has highs and lows and if I were to score them I’d say the lowest low in DK was much higher then DKR but to me the highest highs was higher in DKR, even though I admit there were more lows in Rises then Dark Knight, to me, nothing tops the 1st Bane fight. Dark and brutal. Wasn’t expecting a complete ass beating, a one sided fight. Second fight wasn’t better was it had more of a emotional impact. The jump, any clip with Bane and an amazing Catwomen. Only thing I would have done is drag the movie out 1 more hour, filming more of Bruce trying to escape. Making Bane the mastermind and adding a 3rd fight. Where? When Batman returns, he goes after Bane at night and again gets roughed up, not as badly, almost though but as Bane is gunna “break” Bruce again, a spot light from who knows where (haven’t gotten that far yet) momentarily stuns Banes, giving Batman a moment to row off the roof and stubbornly flies away. That’s when he comes up with the plan of the all out assault on Banes guys in the day time.
@@cliffordreed7206 you are right no doubt, but the whole batman returning back to Gotham and bane taking over Gotham City should've been shown more elaborately shown because I believe the plan of bane was even bigger & needed more time than what's shown, the way he released the people from blackgate city prison after revealing Dent's truth, Bruce Wayne figuring out ways to get back with his resources outside the city limits, the whole 3000 cop under tunnel being lesser like 1000s because there's no way so many cops can go like that, Bane kinda dieing with the bomb instead of him getting compromised like that after everything that happens in the movie, batman showing his weaknesses during fight (which will show us how he needs to move on from fighting like a vigilante). I loved Batman 89, but I still remember walking out of Batman and Robin thinking "WTF was that bullshit". When Begins came out, it was the greatest thing ever for a Batman fan. Christopher Nolan did the entire Bat-universe a solid compared to what came before it (and since). Sounds like it will never happen, but I had no problem with a Robin follow-up a few years later, but its probably been too long now.
Nolan really changed the landscape of the genre with this. Before Nolan's Batman, and for most of Hollywood history, any actor that wanted to be taken seriously - aspiring to be nominated to win the big awards and be considered among the greats - were always told to AVOID the Superhero genre, as it would have been seen as a black mark on their resume and negatively affected their career prospects. This is why Leo DiCaprio rejected the Spiderman role for the 2002 film, which was later given to Tobey Maguire. When Christian Bale was selected for Batman, he kept being told it would be a mistake to take the role. Putting aside the success of this trilogy, look at the actual caliber of actors who were casted - Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Anne Hathaway - These are all considered high level actors with their performances in other great films speaking for itself and it sure didn't affect their careers. This was the first time this genre of movies had so many of them. It's no coincidence that after TDK, the flood gates opened and everyone wanted to be casted in this genre now.
Christian Bale dispelled the claims of Heath being in some deep, dark place when he died. His recounting of them go carting together & Heath winning is not someone who was reclusive.

Rises is a great movie with an equally great villain. You can't compare Hardys Bane with Ledgers Joker, it's just impossible. Joker is threatening because of how he looks and how far he's willing to go. Bane is terrifying purely because he's 100% a better, smarter, and stronger fighter who Batman just can't top man to man. As an adult, Bane is one of the few villains that legitimately frightens me.
The Dark Knight Rises definitely has its issues, and it's obvious that Nolan wanted to move on after The Dark Knight and didn't really want to do a 3rd one. Nolan was at 100% for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and for TDKR he was more at 60% as shown by the plot holes in his screenplay and how some things were awkwardly directed. However, i've grown to really appreciate that film over time, especially after all the DCEU movies that have come out over the last decade. The Dark Knight Rises is now one of the best DC movies for me and the Nolan trilogy is a masterpiece.
The fact that the Trilogy is named after the sequel will always make me chuckle, Batman Begins was brilliant, The Dark Knight was a total game changer, The Dark Knight Rises was amazing too but you can tell Nolan’s Heart wasn’t in it the same after Heath Passed, it was obligation rather than passion
29:54 and the irony here being that Old man himself played Sid Vicious all those years back in the 80's. Makes me wonder if knowing he'd be working w/ Oldman, he may have possibly been inspired.
17:30 Bane's voice was golden!!! Vehemently disagree with that take!!! It was a shock at first- but once the character was more Fleshed out, it made sense and was very fitting!!!!
Bane's voice is brilliant. Sometimes in a cinematic performance you've just gotta go for it! I actually loved TDKR but always thought it would have been better if Batman's actual 'return' was in a triumphant third act (Rocky-style). Of course, I completely understand that this is unrealistic for the 2nd sequel in a Batman-based franchise! I also can't figure out how to make this story work (!) so completely understand why Nolan was saddled with having Batman frustratingly return twice! Mind you Batman's batpod chase with the police is beautifully realised and scored by Hans Zimmer. I couldn't rob the movie of that! The only other option would've been a loose adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns!
RIP Heath Ledger One of the best performances of all time PERIOD. It was his magnum opus.... And I think that contributed to his death. He made his mark... So why bother anymore?
Love all three films. Christian Bale is my favorite Bruce Wayne/Batman. He seemed to really get how to play the three different personas of Bruce Wayne, the anger is where he unleashes Batman, the fake, self absorbed playboy side so nobody suspects he’s Batman and the real Bruce Wayne that only few people like Alfred and Lucius get to see. I also think the main people in all three are perfect. Michael Caine and Gary Oldman are the definitive Alfred and Gordon and Morgan Freeman is phenomenal as Lucius Fox. I never had an issue with Bane’s voice as I understood him clearly from day one. Plus, people complained about the voice in the IMAX prologue and changed it, yet people complain about the final version anyway. Basically, you can’t please everyone. The Dark Knight Rises is my favorite film of the trilogy as it comes full circle with Bruce Wayne’s journey as Batman and leaves it where Gotham will have a protector in John Blake, as he’ll carry on the mantel of being Batman one day and Bruce Wayne gets to have a happy ending where he gets to be in a relationship with Selina Kyle, and a happy ending for Bruce Wayne doesn’t happen very often. I know some complain about that, but the first film sets it up that Bruce doesn’t want to be Batman his whole life and wants to one day have a normal life and enjoy things while knowing he made a positive impact on Gotham. I also love how this trilogy was about Bruce Wayne and his journey becoming Batman and how that affects not only the city, but himself and those around him. Phenomenal trilogy, one of the best ever made and I’m glad I got to see these films on the big screen when they came out.
Heath did the damn thing. His death had nothing to do with this role; dude was working on another movie in another country and had a bad cold (upper respiratory infection, maybe pneumonia?) Don’t mix cold meds with with other pills, kids. Just don’t mix pills at all regardless of how shitty you feel, or how badly you need to sleep. 💙
Then they said Anthony Hopkins is English and Charles Bronson was a serial killer. I can forgive mispronounced names, blatant disregard for facts I can't
Dark Knight Rises should have been 2 parts (total of 4 movies). The downfall and rebirth of Batman are both 2+ hour movie concepts. In the Knightfall comics it took inspiration from, Bane did such a great job stalking, watching, and then breaking down Batman that when we broke Batman's back it was the logical conclusion of Bane's efforts. In TDR its just "lol Bruce is old" so uh big whoop, Bane beat up an old man.
i know a properly cultured gentleman when i see one, banes goated. as great as TDK is, DKR is my favorite. perfect end to one of the greatest trilogies ever.
He also refers to Charlie Bronson as a serial killer. Charlie beat a lot of people up and trashed a couple prisons, but he never actually killed anyone.
You forgot on up and coming English actor who played a small part in dark knight raise. He played in torchwood, Pacific Rim 1 &2, . Game of thrones, Helo, layer cake, Johnny English, crimson peak. ... Burn Gorman. 👍👾✊
The 3rd installment in the Lethal weapon series is probably the best in compared to other "part3s". Keep in mind, I'm only comparing it to other part 3s. It's definitely not the best in its series but as a part 3, it's pretty freaking good.
I Agree on one thing, Dark knight is soo good, that making third movie even better was pretty much imposible. But even trouth it was not mindbloving , it was still great movie. So yeah amazing trilogy, whitout bad movie.

Hey @joblo orginals Why doesn't the narrator of this video enunciate any "t" sounds? Except when saying "Batman". The consonant is consistently omitted. Is it due to a local dialect specific to a region? If so, where? Thanks!
44:55 it is very well known that Bronson is not a serial killer. He is incarcerated for various other crimes. Ive never watched a film over 100 times till this trilogy and hopefully i will watch them 100 times more.
I definitely agree on the odd casting of Katie Holmes
RIP Heath Ledger
One of the best performances of all time PERIOD.
It was his magnum opus.... And I think that contributed to his death. He made his mark... So why bother anymore?
At 17:37 that is quite the unflattering screen shot ya took of Tim burton lol
Christian Bale’s Batman voice in The Dark Knight always irritated me, because it made me feel like I had a sore throat
It’s ridiculous, I’ll as
I didn't even care or notice
Worked out very well in The Batman Begins.
Wasn't a big fan of it either. Keaton managed to be menacing without doing that. Only real complaint i had/have with bale though. Great trilogy
Should of just used the same way he voiced it in begins
I have always loved Bane's voice
i suggest to check out the german dub for bane as well they catch that heavy breathing and pauses between lines near perfect
This movie franchise is amazing i can't wait for the Batman part 2 coming October 2nd 2026
Heath did the damn thing.
His death had nothing to do with this role; dude was working on another movie in another country and had a bad cold (upper respiratory infection, maybe pneumonia?)
Don’t mix cold meds with with other pills, kids. Just don’t mix pills at all regardless of how shitty you feel, or how badly you need to sleep. 💙
The fact you got Cillian Murphy's name correct is great. So many UA-camrs butcher our Irish names lol
You didn't even spell it right
Then they said Anthony Hopkins is English and Charles Bronson was a serial killer.
I loved Banes' voice and I think Rises slightly edges Dark Knight
i know a properly cultured gentleman when i see one, banes goated. as great as TDK is, DKR is my favorite. perfect end to one of the greatest trilogies ever.
Anthony Hopkins is Welsh, not English. So you can’t really refer to “another English actor” when talking about Michael Caine
like theres really a difference
@@razieltalosWHAT? Them's fightin' words for my grandmother, rest her soul.
Like saying Texans and Canadians are exactly the same.
CYMRU AM BYTH!
@@razieltalos Two different countries. Two different nationalities.
He also refers to Charlie Bronson as a serial killer. Charlie beat a lot of people up and trashed a couple prisons, but he never actually killed anyone.
@@razieltalosthey are two different countries! There is a massive difference
No, Oram didn’t train him. The guys from Keyse fighting systems did.
You forgot on up and coming English actor who played a small part in dark knight raise. He played in torchwood, Pacific Rim 1 &2, . Game of thrones, Helo, layer cake, Johnny English, crimson peak. ... Burn Gorman. 👍👾✊
HIS VOICE IS FINE HOLY DRAMATIC
The 3rd installment in the Lethal weapon series is probably the best in compared to other "part3s".
Keep in mind, I'm only comparing it to other part 3s. It's definitely not the best in its series but as a part 3, it's pretty freaking good.
Phenomenal trilogy
It's not Sergio Leone the man with no name or LOTR trilogy those are still the best trilogies.
BEST trilogy of all time in my book.
I don't care what anyone says....I actually like Bane's voice.
That's not actually how a back handed compliment works
Disagree. Katie Holmes was preferable.
Agreed
Actually Sam Raimi did the origin story approach first with Spider-Man.
I Agree on one thing, Dark knight is soo good, that making third movie even better was pretty much imposible. But even trouth it was not mindbloving , it was still great movie. So yeah amazing trilogy, whitout bad movie.
It is trully a masterpiece trilogy, realistic, amazing and revolutionary in the making a great movie. It deserves all the respect from the world 🤗🥳💐🏆👍👌👍🏅👏🥇😊🥇👏🏅🎖👌👍🏆
Personally, I didn't like the first film, Batman Begins, all that much....think was because I had never heard of Ra's al Ghul & the League of Shadows.....Of course the 2nd film is a masterpiece.....and the 3rd one was good as well. Wish Nolan had made more
Are you forgetting Scarecrow?
First was great. I didn't know them either and still loved it.
45:07
Bronson was NOT a serial killer
41:45 Dude, when using a beep sound, please make sure it isn't disproportionately louder than the rest of the video. My ears are bleeding!
I get frustrated when people only talk about The Dark Knight.
The whole Trilogy is good
I'm just about as high on begins as dark knight, personally. Rises is ok
SAME HERE ! I absolutely HATE it when people ignore the other two films in this epic trilogy 😤 !
So what's "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight Rises" to them ???? CHOPPED LIVER 🙄🤦😒 ?!?!?!?! So annoying 😤 !
Dark Knight was the best though.
Yo man, Bane voice was great!! I liked it anyway lol
The voice was awesome. 🤷🏿♂️
I love these movies
What's a Special Air Force? Didn't Alfred serve in the SAS?
You’ve got a lot of Tom Cruise clips on here. 😂
I had to laugh at The Dark Knight Rises when Batman gets stabbed in the side and he basically says ouch.
I liked how contrarians couldn't stand the fact that The Dark Knight had received so much universal praise. So in response to that contrarians couldn't simply say they didn't like the movie, they had to make it a point to state it was "the most boring movie they ever saw!"
Love Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Fantastic films. The Dark Knight Rises was a step down from those. Still liked it.
Yeah,Rises had many plot-holes,but,still fairly good.
I love the score from Batman Begins, but all three movies were excellent in that regard.
Would that firey booster at the back really work? It looks kind of unwise
Bane‘s voice is great. I will never understand the criticism
The pronunciation of Ra’s al ghul is killing me everytime.
Thank you! No one else seems to mind it but it’s so ridiculous! Enjoyed the rest of the video though
18:09 is Ra's' death really on Batman though? He didn't blow up the El track. Gordon did.
Hey @joblo orginals
Why doesn't the narrator of this video enunciate any "t" sounds? Except when saying "Batman".
The consonant is consistently omitted.
Is it due to a local dialect specific to a region?
If so, where?
Thanks!
44:55 it is very well known that Bronson is not a serial killer. He is incarcerated for various other crimes. You make no mention of your statement being an opinion and because he is still alive, and litigious by nature, having sued for statements of defamation as recent as 2017, I would highly recommend editing this bit.
Sorry JB, but check again regarding Charles Bronson being a “serial killer”. Serial fist fighter is more like it. 😉
14:30 excuse me but don’t you dare say anything bad about the original Michael Keaton Batmobile. It was perfect and will always be the best Batmobile to ever exist.
When they show the budget, that doesnt count the millions in advertising does it? So first one didnt make that great of money if you count all that.
