The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man and sharing the title of the character's longest-running comic book series. It is the fourth theatrical Spider-Man film produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Entertainment, serving as a reboot of the series following Sam Raimi's 2002-2007 Spider-Man trilogy, and the first of the two The Amazing Spider-Man films. The film was directed by Marc Webb and written by James Vanderbilt, Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves from a story by Vanderbilt, and stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker / Spider-Man alongside Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. In the film, after Parker is bitten by a genetically altered spider, he gains newfound, spider-like powers and ventures out to save the city from the machinations of the Lizard.
Development of the film began following the cancellation of Spider-Man 4 in January 2010, ending director Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film series that originally featured Tobey Maguire as the titular superhero. Columbia Pictures opted to reboot the franchise with the same production team along with Vanderbilt to stay on with writing the next Spider-Man film, while Sargent and Kloves helped with the script as well. During pre-production, the main characters were cast in 2010. New designs were introduced from the comics, such as artificial web-shooters. Using Red Digital Cinema Camera Company's RED Epic camera, principal photography started in December 2010 in Los Angeles before moving to New York City. The film entered post-production in April 2011. 3ality Technica provided 3D image processing, while Sony Pictures Imageworks handled CGI effects. This was also the final American film to be scored by James Horner and released during his lifetime, three years before his death on June 22, 2015 from an aircraft accident, as well as the penultimate film for both production designer J. Michael Riva and one of the producers Laura Ziskin, who died on June 7, 2012, and June 12, 2011, respectively. J. Michael Riva's last film as production designer was Django Unchained, released five months later and Ziskin's last film as producer was The Butler, released one year later in 2013.
Sony Pictures Entertainment built a promotional website, releasing many previews and launching a viral marketing campaign, among other moves. Tie-ins included a video game by Beenox and Activision. The film premiered on June 30, 2012, in Tokyo, and was released in the United States on July 3, ten years after the release of Spider-Man (2002), in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D formats. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised Garfield's performance as Spider-Man, the chemistry between Stone and Garfield, the visual effects, and musical score, however criticism was directed towards some of the plot elements. The film was a box office success, grossing $758 million worldwide, becoming the seventh highest-grossing film of 2012. A sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, was released on May 2, 2014. Garfield and Ifans reprised their roles in the MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) which dealt with the concept of the multiverse and linked that franchise to the Raimi and Webb installments.

I'll defend the camera identity reveal a bit. While it certainly doesn't have the same tension and weight of the Goblin reveal, it still makes sense. Peter brought his camera to collect evidence of the Lizard to show Captain Stacy, it's his personal camera (and he most likely doesn't have a bunch of those considering how expensive they can be), and it's not like he intended to lose it. He's probably had that "property of..." on it for ages and (again) planned to take his camera back after getting the shots.
I also take it as demonstrating consequences for his mistakes. He's still in his early days as Spider-man and it makes sense for him to make mistakes like this. While he did become Spider-man after the bridge, he's still learning *how* to operate as Spider-man. This was his first time setting up his camera for Spider-man stuff and it went sideways because he was at a disadvantage in the environment.

I can appreciate your attempt at a defense. And it's a pretty good one. Sometimes making sense in context though is simply not enough. The moment is so anti-climatic and lazy that despite it technically making sense it still ends up taking you out of the movie. And on a surface level at least, it makes Peter look pretty stupid. It would've been slightly better had they let him acknowledge that his identity might be compromised. A simple line to Gwen after his fight with The Lizard maybe. But unfortunately we don't get that. It's one of my only major criticisms of the flim. One I do find easy enough to overlook but not defend.

    • @theoutsiderjess4869
      @theoutsiderjess4869 Рік тому +14

@@kabsageigj8941 This moment wasn't meant to bring tension imo but rather too show how something so small can bring massive consequences. Peter brought the camera to show proof that Doctor Connors was the lizard so Captain stacy could take him seriously. However when the Lizard chased him out bringing that Camera led Dr. Connors to knowing who he was and to the school and eventually endangering Gwen. With tobey the whole Goblin reveal was to build up tension i think at that point Peter knew who the Goblin was or had an idea so he didn't want to let on that he was hurt which inevitably failed.

    • @kabsageigj8941
      @kabsageigj8941 Рік тому +1

@theoutsiderjess4869 I'm not saying it needs to build tension. That's one way to go about a reveal but not the only way. My issue is that they went about it in such an obvious and lazy way. You wouldn't even have to change that much to make it better. Instead of "property of Peter Parker" maybe The Lizard recognizes the camera as Peter's because of a unique feature (maybe it's an old model, it's noticeably scuffed up, etc). Say there was an earlier scene where Peter has the camera and Conners asks him about it. This could also serve the purpose of fleshing him out a bit more. Similar to how Otto and Peter have a scene where they're able to talk and get to know each other a bit. Of course you could also make it as simple as The Lizard starts looking through the pictures and recognizes one as being taken by Peter. Though, if you're going to use the camera as the reveal, I'm partial to the first idea.

I agree to both of these comments. This was my son's first spiderman movie in the theater when he was a little guy and still totally obsessed with spiderman lol. I saw TASM1 in the theater like 5 times and loved it. While I wasn't a huge fan of Andrew's portrayal of Peter Parker, I think Tobey was leagues beyond with his Peter. But Andrew was truly an amazing spiderman lol no pun intended. Even the second movie while full of writing flaws had its iconic moments like the death of Gwen Stacy. That scene still hits me hard and Andrew is a very talented emotional actor. Dude can turn on the water works and light up a sad scene like nobody's business 👏

The biggest issue is the first movie left a few threads loose for a sequel the sequel never tied those up and left and entire flap of fabric hanging loose for a universe. It retroactively made sequel bait a glaring flaw. Neither movie told a complete story unto itself because they wanted their own MCU expanded thing and figured half a script would fly if they tied it all up later. It felt lazy and made the same mistakes DC was making in terms of playing catchup. The whole sinister six being rooted explicitly in oscorp? BS. And they wasted the rhino .

Instead of the camera having a property of Peter Parker label, it might have been better if the equipment belonged to his school and the label on the back had the return info, implying Spider-Man could be a teacher or a student there. That way Lizard doesn't know who Peter is yet, but he's got a lead and it explains why he went straight to the school instead of ambushing him in his home or something.

Something Marc Webb brings up in the commetary that I haven't seen any UA-cam videos talk about: Richard Parker's last words spoken to Peter before leaving were, "Be good." Which, yes, is just something parents say to their kids before they leave them with a sitter or something, but it also encapsulates the very core of Spider-Man... Be the good in the world.

The Amazing Spider-Man is my favorite Spider-Man movie. The heart and essence of responsibility and questioning if revenge is simply just beautiful. Peter and Gwen's relationship is already known to be really great.
The villain is someone that links Peter with the past he wants to know more about and his need to have a father figure even if that meant disregarding the one he already had in Uncle ben.
Captain Stacy being the person to question Spider-Man's motivation only to team up with him when he's grown as a person later in the film.
All of this on top of amazing cgi, swinging, and vfx, and great dialogue this movie has it all.

    • @themadtitan7603
      @themadtitan7603 Рік тому +5

I genuinely think that TASM just needed a few alterations to be the best Spider-Man film, or at least easily in the Top 3. All the aspects you mentioned were great, but it just needed a better developed Curt Conners/Lizard (shame about the deleted scenes), a less deriviate structure in the first half of the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man and bigger focus on "The Untold Story" tagline of Peter's parents and their disappearance. The film should've ended with Peter discovering what happened to them and reaching a catharsis by the end that he does have parental figures in his life, and that he's not alone; Uncle Ben, Aunt May and Curt Conners, Captain Stacy were fathers, mothers and teachers to Peter.
If there was one thing I'd change to make it stand out as a reboot is set it during Peter's first year of college rather than another high-school setting. It lines up better with the comics better, too, since that's the era where Gwen and George Stacy were introduced.

Christopher Reeve and Tobey are the beloved classics that are still many people’s favorites to this day. Andrew and Cavill were the ones with so much potential, and a lot of love for the character, but they got screwed over by the studio because the studio just didn’t make the right decisions but have had a popularity resurgence when everyone wanted them back. And Tyler Hoechlin and Tom Holland are the newest and current ones where some people seemed to have to warm up to them, but with their newest things (Superman & Lois and No Way Home) they’ve become much more loved

The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth
AVI ARAD on the other hand, just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1
Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise
    Spiderman was nothing without her

I've read a similar comment you posted before about her and I didn't realize how much impact Laura Ziskin had on the Spider-Man film adaptations.
I do wonder how the second film would've turned out differently with her still at the helm as a producer. Because the first film, as flawed as it was imo, had heart and felt like an individual story being told. And that was largely in credit to her and Marc Webb.
The second film fell into the cynical 2010s trend of using the film as mainly a launching pad to promote an entire line of interconnected products over the next decade.

His suit is also really good and. The reflective eyes, new symbols and more muted colour palette are great. Peter has a slow arc of becoming Spider-Man and Captain Stacy giving him a reality check pushes him forward to being the more traditional Spider-Man. I owe a lot to this movie. This movie is what got me and my brother into Spider-Man, granted it was mainly my brother that went to see it and I guess he kinda dragged me into the Spider-Man fandom but even still I’m grateful for it. No matter the flaws these two movies may have I still love both of them and Andrew as Spidey because it’s just to me what the Raimi trilogy is to most other Spider-Man fans. Andrew is my Spidey. While Mary-Jane wasn’t terrible, and MJ in the MCU is fun, Gwen felt like lightning in a bottle, doesn’t matter if Lizard may tear her head off in Oscorp or if Electro may fry her or if Green Goblin will kill her, she’s going to help Peter because, like she said in the second movie, she makes her own decisions. I freaking love the music especially the main theme of the second movie. Every single swinging and fight scene is a thrill, what we had seen in cartoons or played in video games and it could be seen on the big screen (really just the special effects as a whole especially in the second are just quality). Stan Lee’s cameo in the first is runner-up for my favorite of his cameos behind Into the Spider-Verse. And like the movies as a whole, Peter swinging from the cranes that workers help him with is to me what “You mess with one of us, you mess with all of us” in Spider-Man 1 probably is to others and is contender for my favorite scene in not just any Spider-Man movie, but honestly any movie, period
(Once again way too in depth there, but maybe that’ll keep my possible comment for TASM2 short instead of making it my billionth long comment)

While its not a necessary piece of media, The Amazing Spiderman video game sequel/tie-in really does an incredible job of advancing the story set up in the movie, it helps to flesh out Oscorp and shows the fallout from the events of the movie, it shows that Connors wasn't the only one working on cross-species tests, it shows that his research was taken and used by other people at Oscorp, it brings in some other classic characters like Rhino, Vermin, Scorpion, and Alister Smythe (and the Spider slayer robots) and it really helps to gently push you into the events of the next film.

Honestly I get these movies as well. Something about TASM 1 and Andrew & Emma’s performances in it just hit home for me. i grew up on the tobey movies and all the cartoons and when I found out tobey wasn’t coming back I was upset honestly and I didn’t wanna like this movie even with spidey being my fav hero. But honestly I love the movies, even TASM 2 yes. Something about Andrew in that suit is just amazing. He may not be the best Peter Parker (even though I loved his take ) but him in the suit is untouched. I LOVE the TASM 2 suit as we all do but I also really love the first. It’s so different from any other suit we’ve seen spidey wear. these movies give me a lot of nostalgia. i was overjoyed to see Andrew again in NWH. I’d love for them to somehow bring him into the sony universe and be the main spidey there and have two Peter Parker’s in different universes like we’re about to get with Batman with the reeves movies and now Gunn’s DCU. Andrew would be amazing with Tom Hardy and I feel would work amazing with a miles morales in his universe and obviously Emma as spider gwen somehow. The first TASM movie and even the second just felt like they were building to something massive. Spidey is one of the few characters that could have his own cinematic universe. i wish we could’ve still gotten the third and I even hoped Andrew would be the one to cross over to the mcu & I often think about what would’ve happened if they did do that instead of bringing in Tom (who I also love). These movies also have my favorite action and especially swinging scenes for the character. The CGI and all the effects are just other worldly. so many great ones I can think of, just the way that Andrew & the team had him move was flawless. in the end though I just love these movies, I’m happy to see other people supporting them and showing their own love for the movies now since NWH. #MakeTASM3

If Sony didn't cut out CRUCIAL character and story elements, TASM 1 would be AS GOOD as the Raimi films. But as it stands its very good, but not quite there. All of the narrative issues that mostly occur in the second half of the film are NOT the films fault or the fault of Webb. We had more character development for Connors. The character of Ratha doesn't just disappear from the narrative after the bridge scene, etc. Those deleted scenes are out there for all to see and make the film more complete.
When it comes to comic book films I prefer films they embrace the inherent fantasy of the source material without feeling the need to "ground it in reality" so the audience can take it seriously. So for that alone, Raimi's more mythic and inherent comic booky approach will always be my preferred tonal decision. And I think that's why I will always prefer (with some exceptions) pre-shared universe films like Superman: The Movie, Batman 89 and Batman Returns, Ang Lee's Hulk, and the Raimi films over most of the MCU and yes, even Nolan's TDK Trilogy - although Begins fucking slaps.
But TASM does a great of job go making making the characters and relationships a bit more psychologically real and rough. When May is begging for Peter to tell her what's going on after he keeps coming home beat up and bloodied - I feel that shit. It hits. She's a mother worried about her boy. And the way Fields and Garfield play off each other is emotional and raw. Great stuff.

(On the breaking into Oscorp) - Uhhhhh.. Yeah.. So it's not nearly as difficult as you might think to break into a place that requires specific passes or IDs. No joke. Actually, this movie is HIGHLY accurate in this regard. Max Fosh, UA-camr, broke into the U.S. Security Convention in Las Vegas. Mind you, he's from the UK. There have been a lot of instances of social engineering, people who literally test security systems and general company security who not just break in, but cause absolute calamity like it's a joke. You'd be surprised how terrible the security of 90% of companies and events truly is, which allows for incredibly terrible events to occur if not put in check (we have quite a dark history when it comes to this).
(On the whole camera thing) - One could argue it's Parker Luck. One could also argue due to the fact that he's an outcast and an introvert who brings his Camera to school, probably thought he might accidentally lose it, so he put a label on it. Peter hadn't been Spider-Man for long and was caught off-guard by the Lizard, he brought his camera clearly not thinking about the fact that the label was still on it. It's not entirely out of the picture that PETER PARKER would make a dumb mistake like this.. Actually, it's pretty accurate for his character.

Peter's high-school life could've been more convincing if it hasn't been portrayed in such a mean-spirited way
Most of the students were portrayed as being successful in more ways than he is, and bully him just to make us feel sorry for him, because "everything will work out for him in the end"
I mean, no teacher or adult was around when everyone was gathered to see Flash torturing that kid or beat up Peter, and they only show up to punish Peter
Usually, a mean-spirited story is the result of lazy writing
And the movie had solid writers

Peter was the loner/slacker student which is probably the most realistic thing seen in any spiderman movie. It didn't mean he wasn't smart it's just that he didn't care about high school which is something a lot of teenagers also feel. As for flash bullying and a teacher not being there that is probably the most realistic thing as well after all mcu flash and Rami flash also bullied Peter when an adult wasn't there. So I decided over the last week to watch all the Spider-Man movies. Only one I'd already seen was Spider-verse. Now I've watched all of them in full except Spider-Man 3 and TASM2. I gotta say, I appreciate the Raimi films more than I like them. I get the campyness is a feature but in the end I could not get into these movies. MCU Spider-Man is my favorite overall but it is a fairly different interpretation and one that I feel misses a few opportunities here and there.
TASM is the film that surprised me the most. I went into it expecting to think it was okay at best but instead found myself thoroughly enjoying it. Granted my first impression was that Garfield just doesn't fit the look of Peter but ultimately his charasmatic portrayal won me over. I appreciate how active and fleshed-out Peter is. He's not the stereotypical nerd but his intelligence and love for science is captured so well, almost because they knew they couldn't rely on appearance. You see multiple ways in which he uses his intelligence in the movie and it works within the context instead of coming across as a simple obligation to show that facet of his character. As Spider-Man he's consistently and effortlessly quippy, something the other Spider-Men have trouble with to varying degrees.
Some of my highlights: The slow build of him becoming Spider-Man. I know some people complain about this but I really appreciate that they didn't rush through this part of Peter's journey to learning "with great power comes great responsibility". It makes the moment he does realize this feel much more earned and satisfying. That moment with Flash after Peter's uncle died. It might be small but it's A+ character work. Then you have the scene where he rescues the kid which is when he finally decides to be the "friendly neighborhood" Spider-Man as opposed to a revenge-seeking vigilante. I could write a whole paragraph on this one but my comment is plenty long already, so simply put, it's one of best scenes among any of the Spider-Man movies.

Back after watching the full review. I agree with pretty much everything JP said. Characters make or break a story for me. If l enjoy the characters then I'm oftentimes willing to overlook the flaws. And if I don't, a compelling plot usually isn't enough to save it.
One thing that really surprised me after I watched the movie was how many people seem to agree that Peter starts out as a jerk. I never saw that. Now he can be selfish and immature. Certainly seen when he forgets to pick up Aunt May and ignores Uncle Ben's phone call. He absolutely deserved to get told off for that. And he goes on to show some careless behavior a few more times. However a couple bad choices doesn't mean he's characterized as a jerk.
Stranger still is that the oft-sited proof for this is when he humiliates Flash in the Basketball scene.
Flash is a school bully, the one who, only days ago, gave Peter a bruised lip and kicked him in the gut. On top of that, the inciting incident for Peter showing off isn't even about him. Flash taunts a girl saying he should've ruined the banner she was working on intentionally. (Let's leave aside that it is kind of silly she's painting right there) Peter then goes over to said girl to check on her (a constant throughout the film, he'll help people smaller/weaker even if it puts him in harms way) while helping her he, completely out of reflex, catches the ball. Flash demands it back, at which point he gives into his immaturity and plays keep away with it. Most of this is pretty harmless. I'd say the part where he's intentionally making the ball stick so that Flash can't take it is the most a line gets crossed. I actually believed Uncle Ben afterwards was being a bit harsh. It's not like he went looking for an excuse to pick on/beat up Flash. Flash was the one being a jerk and Peter retaliated in a fairly tame way. None of this means he was right for it, he wasn't. I just think his actions here get way overblown.

TASM also suffered from the big suits slimming down the runtime. The standout "eh?" Moments mostly have a scene cutout in them. Which if probably added in will have more supposed added build up scenes leading to those.
If we take the Peter actually talking to connors in the Sewer lab scene. That probably woould not only have additional scenes that build up on how thise two ended up together in there. the final confrontation would be more alternatively different as them having that conversation have different trajectory than Peter having learned Connors plan from a computer scene

What I love so much about this movie is it captures Peters' early days as Spidey perfectly; when he started out, Peter was a very selfish and solitary individual. He spent the first few issues just trying to make money to help Aunt May, he didn't give a shit about saving anyone, his actions were mostly motivated by his own wants and needs while taking care of the person he cared about. He would also 'give as good as he got' when Flash bullied him. I hated how passive and stereotypical Tobeys' Peter was. His version lacked a lot of the flaws and a few likeable traits that made the character so relateable IMO (this movie came out when I was a socially inept teenager, so Peters' angst and 'loner behaviour' is part of what made this movie mean so much to me). I think this movie being goofy in the second half makes it a better adaptation IMO. The personal drama and stakes were always the grounded parts of the character (which is what these two films handle way better than Raimi IMO), not the ridiculous villains and their plans (Lizard has always had ridiculous motivations lol), I do wish these movies were edited better though, since so many great scenes were cut out in both of these movies. I wish these two films had their own 'Ultimate Editions' like BvS was given. This version felt so much more like comic book Spidey AND Peter to me, and his relationship with Gwen is a much better romance than the insufferably unstable Peter and MJ pairing in Raimi's Trilogy IMO.

It could have been cool if "The Untold Story" continued in TASM 3 and incorporated the mystical side of Spider-Man's mythos. Which would eventually end up at a more cosmic/paranormal theme of a story. Starting with the more grounded and realistic take with Andrew Garfield. It could easily include the other versions and spiderverse as a whole.
But yeah, if done well, the "Untold Story" could be a good tie in as Madame Web/Beyond The Spiderverse.

What’s interesting is that the Ratha deleted scene might still be canon? The marketing for TASM2 has Daily Bugle with a Tumblr page that talks about stuff happening in universe with Herman Schultz (Shocker) getting arrested, the Big Man (a obscure, but important early Spidey villain) being killed in prison since Peter turned him in and his identity was revealed, and Ratha confirmed to be killed (which doesn’t make sense unless the deleted scene is still canon to a extent since he never showed up in the theatrical cut after one point).

you know, about the DNA thing, as a TASM2 truther (it is the best Spider-Man movie, I've written 10K+ words on it in my letterboxd review for the movie, trust that I have spent countless hours analyzing the movie to death), I feel like so many people like are immediately repulsed at the idea of the DNA thing that they fail to consider what it means in the context of the ethos of these movies like the bridge scene in TASM is so good because it's basically telling you that just having powers doesn't make you Spider-Man. what you do with those powers matters. Peter could have just as easily been that same bitter person and never actually become Spider-Man, it's not his powers that make him who he is. that's the ethos these movies are working with. in that context, the DNA is not nearly as bad as people think. like, yeah, if you decontextualize the information and present it simply without the context of that ethos and how much of an effort these movies make to show you that having powers doesn't make you Spider-Man, I can see why the idea is immediately repulsive, I grappled with it quite a bit myself early on but yk, over time, I've actually come around to it (not that I think it's a great choice or whatever but I think it's an interesting choice that works for this universe, this character and what the second movie wanted to accomplish. it works fine in context, at worst it's mildly distracting. it's not his "destiny" to become Spider-Man bc his powers don't make him Spider-Man and even if they did, it's entirely plausible he'd probably never have gotten bit anyway.) I understand that like impulsive need to be immediately repulsed at the thought of how it takes away from the character but hey, if you're willing to give this movie more thought after reflection, consider doing that to the sequel. It's so much better when you actually think about it, it's like probably top 20 films ever for me (mostly because it's basically a romcom with a superhero story attached to it which we don't have nearly enough of, the romance is often a side story instead of the anchor for the story or it's treated like an afterthought and never given much complexity and I love Webb's approach to his themes and how he treats his characters and just how gorgeous that movie is and how everyone is acting their goddamn hearts out in every frame. if you're curious about that long review and on my expanded thoughts feel free to go read all about it on boxd(dot) it/3deoJX). if you're not into reading, UA-camr Keane The Bean's Grief, Catharsis and Spider-Man video is also quite good (their other Spider-Man videos are also quite good), Production Journal's The Tragedy of Peter and Gwen is also pretty close to getting why TASM2 works.
anyway, this was a pretty fun video, and I'm glad you found more stuff to appreciate with these movies! I still think they're easily the best Spider-Man movies we've gotten in live action (ITSV is the best animated, of course. Spider-Man 2 is third for me tho in live action. also got like 8000 words on it on my letterboxd but yeah) and I just hope more people understand why they're so good. I'll also say: these are like the most emotionally mature superhero movies out there that refuse to baby their characters and treat them like whole people who have to work to emotionally get somewhere rather than solving their emotional problems super easily (go watch Keane The Bean's video for more on that). anyway I'm rambling now but I'm just glad you at least understand what the movie was going for and why a lot of it works!

also! about the camera identity reveal: I think while mildly silly, it does really work for me because it's reinforcing the character's place in the world to me. Peter is very poor, he's making his costume by himself, his eye pieces are lenses from sunglasses, his soles are soles he cuts off of tennis shoes and so on. early on, we see his camera get beat up and broken and to me, him being poor and not wanting to lose his camera, it makes perfect sense to me that he'd have his name on his camera just in case it gets lost or something. Him bringing it I think is kinda reinforcing that he's yk, still a teen and not like super smart, he's scientifically gifted maybe but that doesn't always translate to intelligence. He's a genius that can read a lot, he's still grappling with a lot of emotional growth and development as a teen. I think his name being there and him bringing his camer is in character, he probably doesn't have a backup camera and he doesn't wanna lose this. I think it's mildly silly like I said but I think it really works. anyway, that's all lol.
