I would imagine that truck does have a " Commanding Presence " on the road. I drive an F-650 with the same motor and trans in it.. That Cummins pulls a12,500lb truck quite nicely, an it has 444,000 on the clock. I'm pretty sure it has power on reserve in that 4X4. Very cool truck.

That truck is Krazy Kool, I've always dreamed of building something like that. In March 2013 my son & I were unemployed (him for 6 weeks & me for ?), we put 3 motorcycles in the back of my 02 Chevy Crew Cab 1500HD & left WI for a 5 week long road trip. We went as far south as Key West, FL & as far west as Hwy 1 in CA, and seen a whole lot in-between...
Call me crazy but that looks like a 2nd gen Dodge frame. I don’t believe ford ever made an f250 with a parallel 4 link/panhard bar and coil springs, they came with leaf springs up until the 2005 model year when it was replaced with the radius arm/coil spring design. that p pump 12valve would be the stock engine in that 2nd gen ram chassis. Another clue is the Dodge vacuum actuated Dana 60. You can see the axle tube sleeve that holds the vacuum actuator and collar to lock in the RH axle. A 1996 Ford F-250 would have manual locking hubs.

UNITED BY TRUCKS we lucked out with LST that’s for sure. We are gearing up for LST 2021 now. Last weekend we were able to get to our first show since and it felt good to get back out!
Thirty six comments means that half do love a ford and a few are even proud of it. Its sad that we can't show our feelings, wear it on the sleeve a little. I liked the fact that when he pulled out the frame did exactly what it was supposed to do. It rolled with the road to let you know it is not a back breaking stiff as a bucking bronc and had the tight moves that showed that the bed and the cab were two different amenities and are comfortable. It didn't rattle, but the exhaust needed to be tamed to sound like it comes from the back where it is pointed. The cabin is noisy in a sorta good way reminding you that the three hundred six is not the current engine family. I like the automatic trans but would go the ford six speed with double overs in the auto transmission. That alone brings the sound down, it projects it and I would put sound reflectors on the bottom. I would do the cab off restro look. I am tired of patina and it has its place but this is not a poor boy truck and doesn't need to look like a farm truck. A one board high six inch trim on the headache and sides done it high gloss natural oak or pine so it has work effect. Its a "can work" look, not a every day haul horseshit look. I like chrome and I like stainless. That back bumper would have the rolled steel look with a stainless steel diamond deck top where you stand on. the plate recessed in and the square receiver only look. short not follow sides of bed but rounded ends. I would do the ranger light package and a stop light combo light the bed up in center of the cab above back window. I would do the chrome in the rubber trim on that back window to highlight it. I would do the LED's under the top rail around the sides so it shined down on the bed when turned on and then if you wanted them on, the ever changing colors. Stainless down the sides and the bottom commonly called trail jewelry 💍 and the power steps. Polished aluminum wheels and blacked out undercarriage. If it stood high enough to see easy then the Banks diff covers on both ends with the cooling fins. I know its supposed to look original but they put a really nice stainless kit in the seventy two grill and the park lights in the hood on the seventy six, so you could get them out of the grill look. Don't get me started on colors or insides but it would have arm rests, a trucker deck headliner, and a visor over the windshield. All practical stuff like the sound and cb and I would redo the temp controls so they didn't take so much real estate up and a small but easy see flat screen backup and gps system in where the radio was..... is that enough of someone elses money spent??? LOL.
I had a 72 that color too. Just a regular cab long bed. But that truck was perfect. Untill some asshole was running from the cops one night and totaled it and my van. But that truck is sick bro!
I'm a Ford guy always bought Ford trucks. Remember the history, the Dodge Brothers Made stuff for Henry Ford, thay where the Brains behind a lot of his in-ovation. If thay had not Died so early in there life who knows what might be today.
He said dodge chassis to keep the parts easy to replace, with the Ford body on top , looks like a dodge frame along with the 4 link front axle and coil springs. I wonder what auto transmission he used, he said the truck has no computers.
You lost me at swap to dodge . You scraped it .why would you take the best selling truck and destroy it with that swap . 🤔 Other then that . It's a nice truck .
haha i understand that but think about how practical, reliable, comfortable the truck just became. It's his new daily and family vehicle so it's hard to beat that combo!

It most definitely is. We mention that its a '96 Dodge Cummins chassis swap - drivetrain and all. Not a ford chassis or motor.

From the factory. They never offered a long bed 4 door back in the day.
Factory shortbed crew cab. Body has not been cut on. Just the '96 Dodge Cummins chassis was shortened a bit.

The main camera is a Nikon Z6 with a couple of different lenses - 35mm prime f/1.8 and 24-70 f/4. This video was shot with the Z6 and the 24-70mm.
