Hi guys, I am currently on an A50 Instinct but I'm heavy 220lbs and still blowing through the travel. I wanted to upgrade to an Altitude C70 but now I'm wondering about a Slayer C70 29. All these bike seem to have the same drivetrains, so how different is the climbing? I had to put 165 crancks on the Instinct because pedal strikes were constant. I'm not a great climber so is 10mm more travel going to ruin my ride? Picking a bike is a struggle so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Deciding between travel variations should only depend on the terrain you ride and your riding style. If you're on an instinct already I can only presume your average day doesn't consist of super narly terrain. To answer your question about the extra 10 mils travel. The Altitude is a great climber. I wouldn't be concerned. Lastly, if your blowing through travel go to your shop of choice and inquire about volume spacers. They make a big difference, esp for bigger riders.
You can mullet it if you have the 29" wheel size model. No adjustments are required, but we recommend running the shock in the steepest Ride-4 position. Shoot us an email at info@bike.com if you have any other questions!
Love it! Great to hear directly from you guys!!
