Thanks Lyle and Celeste! The new Element looks super fun, we can't wait to ride it. The previous model was an absolute hoot of a bike, sounds like the new one should be too!
While being unique in it's own ways (flip chip, etc.) this bike reminds me of Cannondale Scalpel very much - flex pivot chain stays, long chain stays, very long reach with relatively short head tube... Angles are more aggressive on Rocky Mountain but I see more similarities than difference. So it's a good thing to have an alternative for those who doesn't like internal cable routing through headset.
Have a C50 in my cart at Competitive Cyclist. Usually buy frames and build with preferred parts. Shimano and Fox equipped so perfect in my opinion. Just too worried about economy to burn that $ right now.
I couldnt see a port. Damn. My partner has a c70 last gen and this always bothered me. You even had a maxxis team in the US who were racing this bike having to fix the housing on the outside. Love the look of this new edition but that one thing pretty much disqualifies this bike from being able to compete. Unless of course you get the flight attendent model. Hopefully though we start seeing shocks with wireless lockouts. I would have bought a element if not for this. Bought a scalpel instead.
How does the new scalpel ride compared to 2024 element? Im basically down to these two bikes. The scalpel seems to be the faster and more true xc while the element seems to be ideal for my long endurance races… i will have the 2025 to demo next week but cant find a scalpel anywhere to demo
@@phattysnow I cant really comment too much on the element as its a small and I have only ridden it a few times. She loves it though. Its appeal was the geo for a xc bike. Rocky was very ahead of the curve with that bike. Think of new bikes such as the epic 8 evo. As for the new scalpel its amazing. I love it. Its sharper in geo (less trail orientated). Love the stiffness of the lefty and anti squat of suspension is perfect. I was expecting to use the remote lockout more that I do. You ride it and can tell it is multi generational as its so dialed. I wouldnt use it past light trail usage though. Its one of those bikes where you can tell you need to be careful with it.
Rocky Mountain added 1500 to the price of the c50 in Australia for absolutely no reason at all. Rocky Mountain have priced themselves out of the market in Australia. Taking the piss out of consumers, just fucking greedy.

Loving these talks like this!!!
Looks incredible. Rocky refined an already great bike. This is what the new Ibis Ripley should have been. Im gonna order one.

Would love to hear what Whistler trails you guys would be comfortable riding this thing on.

Where do you usually buy frames ?
Plenty of comparable bikes for less $$ in Australia offerings for Santa Cruz, yeti and ibis are cheaper.

@@pgson8929 just noticed the Maxxis team have the new bike and seem to have routed a shock lockout through the bottle cage mounts under the top tube.
@@PetrolHead209 Oh thats quite interesting. Ill have a look 👍
